Chapter 265: Dracula Factory 13
Chu Yian felt danger and retreated. A Fallen Spawn leaped onto the ventilation duct. Its suction-cup mouthpart pressed against the vent, and through the gaps, she could even see the pink fleshy growths on its proboscis.
The Fallen Spawn had targeted her.
Chu Yian quickly retreated, but the Fallen Spawn pursued her at an extremely fast speed.
She recognized it as one of the Fallen Spawn that had mutated after absorbing the blood of a Vampire. It hung upside down from the ceiling, yet its speed in chasing people was incredibly fast. The distance between her and the Fallen Spawn was only a layer of sheet metal. Then, with a clang, the Fallen Spawn used its gaunt fingers to pry open the ventilation duct.
It was inside!
The Fallen Spawn’s gaunt body allowed it to crawl faster within the ventilation duct, and even more terrifying was its mouthpart, which could capture prey up to two meters away.
Chu Yian was almost licked by that tooth-filled mouthpart.
She released her treasure box behind her, and it fit perfectly, wedging itself in the ventilation duct.
However, before she could even sigh in relief, the ventilation duct, bearing the weight of two people plus a golden box, collapsed. The treasure box fell first, followed by the Fallen Spawn that was chasing her. Below, several other Fallen Spawn were waiting with their mouths wide open, revealing their mouthparts, creating a sense of ‘waiting for the rabbit’ and ‘catching prey with open mouths’.
Chu Yian slid down the slope, then quickly spread her arms and legs.
She barely managed to stop sliding further down, and at the same time, quickly climbed upwards.
The Fallen Spawn behind her caught up again, this time there were two.
Chu Yian kept retreating, and at the same time, took out her silver scepter. As the Fallen Spawn rushed towards her, she aimed the scepter in her hand at it, the sharp end piercing into the Fallen Spawn’s mouthpart. With a shrill, piercing scream from the Fallen Spawn, its mouthpart seemed to melt together like heated wax.
The Fallen Spawn at the very front quickly retreated after being injured, while the proboscis of the Fallen Spawn behind it was already close to Chu Yian’s face.
“Lie down.”
Chu Yian immediately leaned back when she heard the voice, followed by the sound of a gunshot.
Just as she was about to sit up to check, she was suddenly dragged by a hand from behind into a deeper ventilation duct.
“Little Chu Chu, you ungrateful little thing. You actually left Brother Bai and ran off just now.”
It was Bai Sinian.
Chu Yian had just felt like she had escaped danger, but now she suddenly had the feeling of having just escaped a tiger’s den only to enter a wolf’s lair. She abruptly turned and looked at him warily, “What do you want?”
“What else could I want? I just want to team up with Little Chu Chu.”
Bai Sinian once again showed his cynical smile, but his eyes were very serious, “This round of the game only has a day and a half of escape time left. Little Chu Chu wouldn’t think that she can escape on her own, would she?”
“If this round of the game fails, points will be deducted, oh, a ten percent deduction rate.”
Indeed.
Failing the game would result in a ten percent point deduction, which made Chu Yian hesitant to be eliminated. However, Bai Sinian’s bullet had completely shattered the already meager trust between them. Now that he proposed teaming up again, Chu Yian’s first reaction was to refuse.
No one would want to cooperate with someone who shoots them in the back.
But the words on her lips suddenly changed, “We can cooperate, but you have to tell me your plan first.”
Although Bai Sinian was prone to betrayal, he currently had value.
Cooperation doesn’t always have to be win-win; it can also be exploitation.
Bai Sinian was surprised that Chu Yian agreed so quickly, but he didn’t voice his doubts. He believed that even if Chu Yian had ulterior motives, she couldn’t outplay him.
“We can use those Fallen Spawn below to cause a riot throughout the factory.”
Bai Sinian leaned against the wall of the ventilation duct and slowly said, “Let the Fallen Spawn disrupt the factory, and the Administrator won’t have the time and energy to bother us.”
“But there are still many ordinary people below.”
If Fallen Spawn were used to create a riot, then ordinary people would surely be harmed.
“My Little Chu Chu, have you gone silly from playing the game? Seventy percent of this factory are NPCs. Why be soft-hearted towards a group of NPCs? Even if they don’t die, they are just data that will disappear immediately after this round of the game ends.”
Bai Sinian coldly stated the essence of this world, then continued: “We not only need to use NPCs to cause a riot, but also use other players to distract attention and search for the factory’s exit.”
Chu Yian frowned slightly upon hearing this: “You don’t know the factory’s exit?”
Bai Sinian took it as a matter of course: “I’m not a god, how would I know?”
Your confident look on the second day of the game didn’t show it like this. Chu Yian secretly grumbled in her heart.
“But I do know one thing.”
Bai Sinian looked at her and said unhurriedly, “The factory gate is not at the end of the factory; the high walls built there are impossible to climb.”
“There’s no gate on the outermost perimeter?”
“That’s right, I circled the outermost perimeter of the factory on the second day.”
As Bai Sinian spoke, he hooked his finger under Chu Yian’s stunned nose, “If there wasn’t no exit, you wouldn’t be seeing me right now.”
“Don’t make such greasy movements.”
Chu Yian leaned back in disgust, her thoughts drifting to her escape plan. If she hadn’t agreed to cooperate with Bai Sinian just now, even if she had rushed to the outermost perimeter of the factory, it would have been a wasted effort.
So, resources still need to be utilized.
“So now we…”
“Now we have to run for our lives.”
Bai Sinian suddenly pushed her, and they fled through the tangled ventilation ducts, shaking off the lingering Fallen Spawn behind them. Bai Sinian’s bullets were limited and quickly ran out in the narrow pipes.
Chu Yian took out her scepter and stabbed a Fallen Spawn. Fallen Spawn that were headshotted or had their hearts pierced immediately died. Even if they weren’t hit in a vital spot, the Fallen Spawn would shriek and run away.
Bai Sinian quickly discovered that the Fallen Spawn were very afraid of Chu Yian’s weapon, “What is that thing? It makes the Fallen Spawn so scared.”
“Fallen Spawn are afraid of anything made of silver.”
Chu Yian said casually, “But if you try to snatch my weapon, I will definitely stab you to death with it first.”
“Is Brother Bai that kind of person in Little Chu Chu’s eyes?”
Bai Sinian spread his hands, looking innocent, “I wouldn’t snatch anything from anyone, especially not from our Little Chu Chu. Speaking of which, does Little Chu Chu know where silver can be found? Brother Bai will go get some.”
“I don’t know. But the factory has confiscated all silver as contraband.”
Chu Yian answered seriously, “These silver items were either all destroyed, or they were collected by the Administrator and stored in a centralized location.”
Bai Sinian’s lips curved slightly upon hearing this.
If silver could merely kill Fallen Spawn, the factory wouldn’t have gone to such great lengths. It’s highly likely that silver is not only lethal to Fallen Spawn but also poses a significant threat to the third species within the factory.
Moreover, silver is not so easily destroyed; it’s very likely stored somewhere.
