Super Flood 18

Chapter 232: Super Flood 18

Chu Yian looked at the giant waves and closed her eyes in fear.

At this moment, Lu Qingyuan had already activated the yacht’s special energy mode, leaving all other boats in his dust. The yacht, with a glowing trail behind it, charged up the waves at an angle.

The roaring engines and the sound of the waves filled their ears, while the bottom and hull of the boat shook continuously from debris colliding in the water.

The glass at the front of the yacht was already cracked from debris and the force of the rushing water. Water seeped through the cracks, and the glass threatened to shatter at any moment. Chu Yian went from screaming to gritting her teeth, her fingers gripping the co-pilot’s seat turning white.

The five people upstairs experienced an even greater impact.

The front glass had already shattered, and seawater poured into the space. The rear glass, unable to withstand the weight of the seawater and the forward speed, also shattered. This meant that the five people currently had no shelter in front or behind them; they could only cling desperately to the yacht’s hull, their bodies already flying in the air.

Suddenly, the yacht broke through the high barrier of waves.

Chu Yian’s eyes met a hazy sky.

The yacht’s resistance vanished; they had reached the crest of the waves. Below, countless boats attempted to climb the waves in vain, only to be swallowed by the water. Boats fleeing forward also failed to escape the tsunami’s power, which even tore some vessels in half.

Apart from them, only three other boats that managed to climb the waves survived at sea.

And the closer the waves got to the shore, the higher they became.

Buildings that were once above water collapsed under the tsunami’s destructive force.

Their yacht helplessly followed behind the waves, watching the colossal surge topple buildings, wash away towers, and deliver another devastating blow to the already struggling survivors.

The losses were catastrophic!

Jie Yan’s team also suffered heavy losses.

Liu Wen, due to his shoulder injury, was the first to be thrown off. You Che, as the weakest member of the team, also couldn’t hold on. Once a person was flung into the water, he was immediately swept away.

There was no chance to save him.

Jie Yan brought the remaining survivors down; only three of them were left.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t consider it,” Chu Yian said, looking at their disheveled appearance.

“It’s not your fault. The fact that we’re still alive is a huge blessing.”

Jie Yan took off his wet shirt, wrung out the water, and asked, “We should be close to the shelter now, right? Approximately when will we arrive?”

“There are still ten kilometers to the shelter.”

That distance would only take about two hours to walk. At the yacht’s speed, maybe half an hour?

“But the yacht is out of fuel.”

Lu Qingyuan announced the bad news in a cold tone.

The choice to charge up the waves was inherently dangerous; they nearly all died in the tsunami due to insufficient energy. Now, the yacht’s fuel was depleted, and its components were damaged; it had reached its limit.

“Then let’s not delay, pack up and get ready to go!”

Chu Yian unbuckled her seatbelt and began packing useful items.

Food, fresh water, medicine, and most importantly, weapons.

Lu Qingyuan, meanwhile, opened the yacht’s rear storage, pulling out the kayaks and inflatable boats inside. He handed the uninflated inflatable boat to Jie Yan, along with a pump, saying, “You all take this.”

The implication: inflate it yourselves.

Jie Yan looked at Lu Qingyuan in front of him. The man’s face was identical to the hunter who had eliminated him in the previous game. The words “hunter” were almost on the tip of Jie Yan’s tongue.

But due to the specific circumstances, he held back.

The five quickly prepared. Chu Yian bid farewell to the soft, dry blanket she had slept on for several days and immediately set off.

She and Lu Qingyuan sat in the two-person kayak.

Jie Yan and his group were in the inflatable boat.

Passing through the areas hit by the tsunami, only broken steel bars and concrete remained of the high-rise buildings. Survivors struggled in the water, and many corpses floated on the surface. In areas with dense corpses, the floodwaters were a murky red, and the smell of flesh attracted fish to feed.

Five people, two small boats, paddled quickly across the water.

Chu Yian looked at the mountains now clearly visible, paddling so fast she was almost like Sun Wukong twirling his Golden-Hooped Rod. She huffed and puffed forward, putting a good distance between them and the inflatable boat behind.

Seeing the three lagging behind, she turned and asked, “Brother Jie, are we going too fast?”

They were indeed a bit too fast.

The speed difference between the small, lightweight two-person kayak and the inflatable boat made it difficult for the latter to keep up.

But Jie Yan, out of pride, didn’t say anything.

“It’s fine, we can keep up.”

He said, then started to paddle faster.

His two subordinates, seeing him accelerate, also put in their full effort. The inflatable boat’s speed instantly increased, and the distance between the two boats shortened.

“This speed is impressive!”

Chu Yian had paddled inflatable boats for several days, so she understood them well.

She didn’t expect Jie Yan and his group to paddle the inflatable boat so fast, and Chu Yian immediately felt relieved. She turned to Lu Qingyuan behind her, “Teacher Lu, let’s put in some effort and speed up. If the inflatable boat overtakes us, that would be truly embarrassing.”

And so… the kayak went faster and faster, causing the inflatable boat to also accelerate.

The journey, originally estimated to take an hour and a half, was completed in 40 minutes! However, the three people in the inflatable boat were panting heavily, and even Jie Yan’s hands, gripping the paddle, were trembling slightly.

But they finally reached Puloxisi Island!

Landing at the lowest point of Puloxisi Island, after living in water for several days, Chu Yian felt the ground swaying as she stepped onto land again.

Her body swayed with it, and she tugged on Lu Qingyuan’s sleeve. Lu Qingyuan, seeing her look like she’d had too much to drink, reached out and grabbed her arm.

Jie Yan watched their interaction from behind, his brows slightly furrowed.

Unfortunately, Chu Yian didn’t notice.

After a brief adaptation, she couldn’t help but bounce twice on the ground. Feeling the stable feedback the ground provided, she couldn’t help but exclaim, “It’s good to be on solid ground!”

But why hadn’t the game announcement sounded yet?

“Save some energy; the shelter is still further up.”

Jie Yan and the others knew the exact location. At a time like this, it was finally their turn to be useful.

The entire world was experiencing inexplicable phenomena: melting icebergs, sinking continents.

Only Puloxisi Island would rise higher with each tectonic movement. What was originally a small island with only 380,000 islanders was now forming a new continent due to tectonic changes.

According to research and calculations, this was the only surviving “continent” after the world was submerged.

And it was still “growing.”

According to the intelligence they received, when the altitude exceeded 6900 meters, this area was a safe zone, also widely defined as a shelter.

Chu Yian had no idea there was a mountain-climbing stage, and such a high one at that.

The higher they went, the colder the temperature became.

Even worse, she started to feel out of breath, probably altitude sickness…
