Chapter 228: Super Flood 14
Chu Yian’s thoughts raced faster than the yacht.
She looked at Lu Qingyuan, gave two strange laughs, then turned to the kitchen to clean the fish.
The fish, of course, was caught from the water.
For the past two days, most of the yacht’s living facilities were broken, and the gas stove inside was no exception. The few fish found on the yacht hadn’t been eaten; they were cut into strips to be used as bait.
She used a fishing rod found inside the yacht to fish outside, initially just wanting to try, but unexpectedly, she actually caught one.
She originally planned to make fish soup, but when Lu Qingyuan saw the fish, he frowned, “Are you sure you want to eat fish?”
Chu Yian: “…Ah! Why would you say that?!”
Heaven knows how much mental preparation she went through to eat this fish, silently repeating countless times that this fish was super fresh, it only shared the same water source as the corpses, it didn’t eat any trash or rotten flesh, and it was fine to occasionally eat a fish like this… Chu Yian had just managed to hypnotize herself into eating the fish, but a single question brought her back to reality. She weighed the fish she had killed, then threw it back into the water.
“So you do know that things from the water can’t be eaten.”
Lu Qingyuan leaned against the doorframe, looking at her, and reminded her, worried about her cravings, “Besides fish, don’t bring up any sealed food, mineral water, or anything else from the water.”
After a great disaster, there must be a great plague.
Now, with so many people dead due to the flood, who knows how many bacteria will breed from the corpses and trash in the water.
“I know.”
Chu Yian nodded; she had just been temporarily carried away by the fish.
With the environment improved, Chu Yian wanted to make a variety of meals for lunch. It was a bit regrettable that all the food she had stocked was too practical; besides instant noodles and self-heating rice, there were only high-calorie compressed biscuits, high-calorie chocolate, and so on.
The only things she could really use were a bag of ginger and a large piece of brown sugar; brown sugar ginger tea had become their daily essential.
They drank it in the morning, in the afternoon, and again in the evening.
While other survivors were out in the wind and rain, they were drinking ginger tea; while other survivors were shivering from the cold, they were drinking ginger tea; while other survivors were starving, they reluctantly ate compressed biscuits, then drank ginger tea.
Life suddenly… got better.
It was a world of difference from before.
Most importantly, her luck was great in today’s lottery; Grandpa Treasure Box actually gave her a large cotton quilt!
A dry, heavy, and super warm cotton quilt that you could just sink into!
Even during the ice and snow game, Chu Yian hadn’t realized how precious a dry, thick cotton quilt could be.
But today, the moment she got the quilt, she meticulously wiped the already clean living room floor again, then spread half of the quilt on the floor and covered herself with the other half.
Outside, the rain poured, the whooshing sound of rain hitting the yacht’s roof, and the cold wind howled. Meanwhile, Chu Yian was buried in the quilt, enjoying its soft touch, her nostrils seemingly filled with the scent of the sun.
It was truly so comfortable!
She was willing to stay in bed forever.
Lu Qingyuan was startled to see a quilt suddenly appear in the living room, “Are there still dry blankets on the yacht?”
Of course not.
Chu Yian didn’t explain much, just lifted a corner of the quilt, “Teacher Lu, do you want to try it? It’s really so comfortable!”
If it were anyone else, no one could make her move.
But for Teacher Lu, she could make room for him to experience it.
Lu Qingyuan watched her in a thin shirt, her exposed milky-white skin making one almost smell a sweet, milky fragrance. She lay softly on the bed, and indeed, holding her would be very comfortable…
