Chapter 79: Beaten into a Pig’s Head
“Xiaozhou, stop for a moment.”
Seeing that the young master’s face had been stomped into a swollen mess by Wan Xiaozhou, Fang Xiaocao waved her hand and spoke.
Hearing Fang Xiaocao’s words, Wan Xiaozhou immediately stopped, obediently standing to the side. However, her little foot was still itching to move, as if she hadn’t had enough.
Noticing Wan Xiaozhou’s eager smile, the young master shuddered. He struggled to open his swollen eyes, now barely slits, and said in a trembling voice, “I shay, don’t hit me anymore…”
Hearing his slurred speech, Fang Xiaocao instinctively frowned.
“Stop talking!”
She blinked and said.
“I swear, I’ll tell you everything…”
The young master was on the verge of tears.
“I can’t understand a word you’re saying.”
Fang Xiaocao shrugged helplessly.
“I swear… I’ll tell you…”
The young master stammered.
“Nope, still don’t get it.”
Fang Xiaocao grinned.
“Waaahhh…”
The young master burst into tears.
“…”
Seeing his cry, Fang Xiaocao was speechless.
“Seriously? Crying already? Are you even a man?”
She rolled her eyes.
“Waaahhh…”
Hearing her words, the young master sobbed even harder.
“Enough! Stop crying!”
Fang Xiaocao frowned and scolded.
“If you keep crying, I’ll hit you again!”
She warned in a cold voice.
“Eh—”
The young master’s crying stopped abruptly, as if someone had hit the brakes.
“Wow…”
Even Fang Xiaocao was impressed by his instant silence.
“You behave. Let her talk.”
She pointed at the woman.
“Okay, okay!”
The young master nodded frantically like a pecking chick.
“You—tell me, who are you?”
Fang Xiaocao gestured toward the woman and the other man.
“He is my young master, his name is Ye Lingchen.”
“My name is Lin Meng, and he is Qian Xia.”
Lin Meng answered truthfully.
“Ye? That’s a rare surname.”
Fang Xiaocao mused.
“He’s a young master, huh? Then where are you guys from?”
She asked.
“Yes, he’s the young master of the Ye family.”
Lin Meng nodded.
“We come from the Ye family, the hidden force behind the Ye Group.”
She added.
“Who’s the head of the Ye family?”
Fang Xiaocao asked.
She had heard of the Ye family and Ye Group before from Zhi Qi. They were an influential family from the capital, even larger than the Zhi family.
“The current leader of the Ye family is Ye Lingchen’s father—Ye Weilian.”
Lin Meng replied.
“Isn’t the Ye family based in the capital? Why did you come all the way here?”
Fang Xiaocao pressed.
“The young master was invited by Yu Tianqi of the Yu family, which is why we came.”
“But we didn’t expect it to be a trap. As soon as we arrived, we were ambushed.”
Lin Meng’s expression turned somber.
“The young master originally had four bodyguards. One was killed instantly, and our captain, Jiang Chen, stayed behind to hold off the attackers so that Qian Xia and I could get the young master out of the encirclement.”
Her voice was filled with sorrow.
Hearing this, Fang Xiaocao’s eyes flickered.
“Do you know who attacked you?”
She asked.
“The Blacklist—Zi Shu, Chou Niu, Xu Gou, Wu Ma!”
Lin Meng spat out a few names angrily.
“As expected.”
Fang Xiaocao smirked.
“Aquarius, who’s the leader of the Zodiac faction?”
She turned to ask.
“It’s Chen Long.”
Aquarius replied.
“Wait—Aquarius? You guys are from the Blacklist?”
Lin Meng gasped.
Hearing this, Ye Lingchen and Qian Xia tensed up, their expressions filled with unease.
“She is.”
Fang Xiaocao pointed at Aquarius and smiled.
“But the two of us aren’t.”
She gestured toward herself and Wan Xiaozhou.
“Then who are you?”
“Why does Aquarius listen to you?”
Lin Meng asked suspiciously.
“Me?”
“I’m just like you—one of the victims invited here.”
Fang Xiaocao shrugged.
“Relax. Aquarius has already defected. She’s mine now and won’t be working for the Blacklist anymore.”
She added.
Lin Meng clearly didn’t believe her and continued to eye her suspiciously.
“Believe it or don’t, I don’t care.”
Fang Xiaocao rolled her eyes.
“Aquarius, untie them.”
She ordered.
“Yes!”
Aquarius replied respectfully. She took out a knife and walked toward Lin Meng.
“What are you doing?”
Lin Meng tensed up.
“Cutting you loose, obviously.”
Aquarius retorted.
With a swift motion, she sliced through the zip ties binding Lin Meng’s wrists and ankles.
Free, Lin Meng immediately sprang up and warily watched Aquarius.
“Don’t look at me like that.”
“It makes me want to kill someone.”
Aquarius smirked, subtly pointing her gun at Ye Lingchen.
Lin Meng stiffened instantly, not daring to glare anymore.
“Heh.”
Aquarius sneered and moved on to Qian Xia.
With a couple of quick cuts, his restraints were severed as well.
Wan Xiaozhou also pulled out a knife and freed Ye Lingchen.
“Young master!”
Lin Meng rushed to support him.
Fang Xiaocao made no move to stop her.
“You’re really letting us go?”
Lin Meng asked warily.
“Of course.”
Fang Xiaocao said matter-of-factly.
“I already told you, I have nothing to do with the Blacklist. I’m a victim, just like you.”
She said helplessly.
“I trusht her…”
Ye Lingchen mumbled.
“Young master?”
Lin Meng looked at him.
Ye Lingchen waved his hand, signaling her to stop questioning.
Then, he took out his phone and typed a message.
“Talking hurts too much. My mouth is swollen.”
“I believe her. If she was with the Blacklist, we’d be dead already, and I’d have been taken away. There’s no way she’d let us go.”
“Miss, can we travel with you?”
His first two sentences were meant for Lin Meng and Qian Xia, while the last one was directed at Fang Xiaocao.
“If you want to come with us, that’s fine—but these two have to follow my orders.”
Fang Xiaocao thought for a moment before answering.
She pointed at Lin Meng and Qian Xia.
“Deal!”
Ye Lingchen quickly typed in response.
