No sooner said than done, Chu Yian grabbed the car’s bumper with both hands and slid directly under the vehicle.
All the zombies outside the cars nearby began running in this direction.
Chu Yian lay prone under the car, watching as more and more zombies gathered around, making the vehicle bang loudly as they collided with it.
She couldn’t stay here any longer.
She crawled on the ground towards the underside of the car ahead. Because the two cars had rear-ended each other, there was no gap between them, allowing Chu Yian to safely crawl under the second vehicle.
Then, taking a deep breath, she did a short sprint and dove under the third car.
“Roar—!”
The zombie horde behind her was in a commotion again.
The sound of their thudding footsteps felt as if every step was being trodden directly on her heart.
Chu Yian was so nervous that her ears were ringing and her back was completely drenched in sweat; she was terrified that a zombie would suddenly lie down and lock eyes with her under the car.
Wait, don’t panic.
Her muscles were tense all over as she kept comforting herself in her mind.
Just then, a ringtone suddenly rang out from the car behind. A man’s voice, full of vigor, sang the Song of the Good Men: “The big river flows east, the stars in the sky join the Big Dipper, hey hey, join the Big Dipper…”
Upon hearing this powerful singing, the zombies that were originally surrounding the vehicle behind instantly went into a frenzy, violently slamming into it.
This was the alarm Chu Yian had set on her phone for two minutes later.
With only thirteen percent battery remaining, the phone gave off its final glow. Amidst the lyrics of “Let’s go when we say we’ll go,” Chu Yian crawled out from under the car and sprinted toward the service area.
A car!
A car with a high chassis!
A row of various cars came into view, making Chu Yian’s head spin, but she finally chose the one with the highest chassis!
Because the chassis was so high, the door was also a bit high.
She stepped onto the running board to climb into the vehicle, but as soon as she opened the door, a zombie inside the cab lunged at her. At that moment, the zombie was only two fists away from her; Chu Yian could even see human tissue still stuck to its teeth.
In that instant, the zombie was only 0.1 seconds away from biting her.
Chu Yian’s body reacted faster than her brain; her right hand swung violently, and the pure gold, one-cubic-meter treasure box instantly smashed into him. The zombie’s face was smashed flat, and blood, pus, and brain matter splattered everywhere, instantly filling the cab with a foul odor.
Holding her breath, Chu Yian dragged the zombie she had just killed out of the car. Having learned her lesson, she held a handgun in one hand and the treasure box in the other as she cautiously checked the rest of the vehicle.
Fortunately, there was only this one zombie.
The key was also in the ignition.
There were even two spare tires hanging on the back of the vehicle.
She did a quick check; the vehicle felt almost new, and the logo looked like it was a BMW. Compared to the van from before, it was like night and day.
Just as Chu Yian was satisfied with the new vehicle she had found… hurried footsteps came from the service area.
It was Lu Qingyuan returning after finding gasoline.
He was carrying two large buckets of gasoline in his hands, with a swarm of zombies following behind him. He used the gasoline buckets to swing at the surrounding zombies, vaulted over a car in front, and quickly shook off the horde as he rushed toward the designated row of vehicles.
“Teacher Lu, I’m over here!”
Chu Yian leaned against the windshield and waved at him vigorously.

He got in and closed the door.
The tires of this truck alone were over a meter high; the zombies could only reach the level of their feet, which gave them a great sense of security.
A heavy truck was still somewhat different from a small car, but the basics were much the same. Chu Yian started it up just like she would a small car, stepped on the accelerator, and sent all the zombies blocking the way flying.
When driving the van, she had to worry about rolling over even if a zombie just bumped into it. But the heavy truck was an ultimate path-clearing tool.

She rampaged all the way, breaking out of the service area under the pursuit of hundreds of zombies. The feeling of the wheels crushing the bodies of zombies—it was exhilarating!

Chu Yian couldn’t help but flatter Lu Qingyuan; driving a heavy truck and driving a van were two completely different experiences.

Chu Yian pulled back the curtain behind her; the user-friendly heavy truck even had a small single bed in the back. She had specifically checked the vehicle’s condition earlier and knew exactly what was inside.

On the dead silent highway, the truck with its bright headlights roared past; occasionally, zombies would chase after the sound, only to be quickly left behind.
Chu Yian, who no longer had a phone, woke Lu Qingyuan by intuition and then swapped with him to rest on the small bed in the back.
She didn’t sleep soundly; even in her dreams, various nightmares kept surfacing.
After an unknown amount of time, their vehicle began to move in a stop-and-go fashion, and their speed slowed down.
Chu Yian flipped over abruptly, her sense of urgency regarding danger instantly making her sleepiness vanish. “What’s wrong?”
“We’ve reached X City.”
They were already in X City!
Hearing this, Chu Yian was instantly wide awake. She sat back in the passenger seat and saw that the vehicle was surrounded by figures.
She gasped, “There are so many zombies in X City!”
“They aren’t zombies; they’re people.”
Clearly, Chu Yian wasn’t the only one who had heard the rescue information over the radio; many people had learned through the radio or word of mouth that Fulen County was a rescue point.
From X City to Fulen County, it was still a forty-minute drive.
Basically everyone who could get a car had already left; those remaining now were people who wanted to go but had no way to leave. Having finally encountered a vehicle with plenty of space, everyone wanted to squeeze in.
The fear of zombies and the desire to survive were making these people gradually go frantic.
More and more people blocked the front of the truck; they shook the vehicle, climbed onto the roof, and some even threw stones at the glass.
The vehicle had been forced to a standstill by them. Lu Qingyuan’s brow furrowed. “How many bullets do you have left?”
