Chapter 284: My Lord, Kiss Me More From Now On
Gong Er knelt beside Gong Liu, enduring the pain as well. Cold sweat streamed down his forehead, and his voice trembled as he spoke.
“My lord, this disciple knows his fault. But now Gong Da has already been killed by Nineteen, and Seventeen also died because of her. Please calm your anger. Although Nineteen has disappeared, she possesses overwhelming witchcraft power—ordinary people will not be able to harm her. This disciple is willing to immediately lead men to search for her. Within one day, I will safely bring her back!”
Gong Mo Ran swept him a glance and said flatly, “I will bring her back myself. Until then, you will endure both the Heart-Eroding Pain and the Brain-Devouring Pain. If you die from the pain before I retrieve Duoduo, then that is simply your fate.”
With that, he left the disciples writhing in agony and turned back toward the main hall without another look.
Upon hearing this, several disciples’ eyes rolled back, and they nearly fainted on the spot.
The Heart-Eroding Pain and the Brain-Devouring Pain striking together—how could an ordinary person endure that? Yet my lord intended to make them suffer continuously until he found Nineteen!
They were wrong. Truly wrong.
Whatever my lord wished to do, he would do. They never should have presumed to interfere. In the future, whomever my lord wished to favor, he could favor. Even if he indulged day and night in wine and pleasure, even if he were to die at Nineteen’s hands—it would all be his own willing choice…
Gong Mo Ran walked to the bedside and quietly looked at the disheveled bedding, scenes from last night flashing through his mind.
He had bitten and taken that woman like a wild beast, while she obediently let him do as he pleased. Even when her body ached, she only wept silently and held him tighter.
Gong Mo Ran raised a hand to his forehead, partially covering his bloodshot eyes.
His Duoduo…
Thinking again of everything she had suffered afterward, his gaze turned incomparably cold, a faint glimmer of blood flashing in his eyes.
She killed Gong Da?
Duoduo was truly kind. Did she know that if he had personally taken action, Gong Da would have died far more miserably—so she ended him in advance?
Gong Mo Ran found two strands of Li Yunduo’s hair from the bed, burned them to ash, mixed the ashes with his own blood, and used the mixture to draw a tracking array on paper.
He closed his eyes lightly. When the talisman burned away, Li Yunduo’s location had already appeared clearly in his mind.
Suddenly, he opened his eyes, his gaze sinking.
How could she be there?
Duoduo… have you been so heartbroken that you intend to abandon me?
His pupils were dark and deep, set against eyes filled with bloodshot red—terrifying to behold.
“Heavens! This is bad—this is really bad!” Little Eight’s shrill voice startled Nan Xun awake.
“What’s wrong, Little Eight?” Nan Xun yawned.
Little Eight whimpered, “The big boss’s malice value suddenly dropped by ten.”
Nan Xun looked confused. “That’s good news, not bad. Why are you yelling?”
Little Eight made an oh sound, then added, “But his corruption value just shot straight to full—one hundred.”
Nan Xun: “……”
“Well, that’s understandable. I was hunted down by Gong Da and the others—if I didn’t have some real ability, I’d be dead already. It’s normal for him to darken because of that.”
“I don’t think that’s why he darkened,” Little Eight said.
Nan Xun quickly asked, “Then why?”
Little Eight immediately fell silent.
After a long while, it finally said, “I’m really tired. I want to take a nap. This place is very safe, so I won’t keep watch for you. Go ahead and sleep too.”
Nan Xun felt that Little Eight was hiding something from her. Why was it so certain this place was safe? Was it because the young master sheltering her came from a noble family? Or a military lineage?
As she thought, she gradually fell asleep.
In the middle of the night, she had a nightmare and jolted awake.
She dreamed of Seventeen’s death—of him coughing up blood, gripping her hand tightly, refusing to let go…
“Little Eight… could you keep me company for a while?”
There was no response. It had really fallen asleep.
Nan Xun sat alone on the bed, lost in thought. So this was the world of the blind and deaf—unable to see or hear anything. The entire world felt as though it held only herself, as if she had been abandoned by everyone.
She tilted her head slightly, feeling the night breeze drift in through the half-open window. When it brushed against her face, the sensation felt unexpectedly comforting.
After sitting for a while, Nan Xun groped her way off the bed, following the direction of the wind to the window, and pushed it fully open.
If the wind was stronger, she would feel safer.
Just as she finished opening the window and turned back, she suddenly sensed something. She whipped her head around, her unfocused eyes facing the window.
“Who is it? Who’s there?”
Gong Mo Ran stood by the window, watching the woman whose eyes were empty, lost, and helpless. A strange look flickered through his gaze.
“Duoduo?” he called softly.
She still gave no reaction.
Nan Xun froze. She smelled the familiar sandalwood incense—it was Gong Mo Ran’s scent.
“My lord… is that you, coming to take me home?” Nan Xun’s face lit up with joy as she reached out blindly toward him.
Seeing her like this, Gong Mo Ran’s gaze darkened.
Duoduo, she…
He stepped forward and suddenly pulled the slowly groping woman into his arms.
Nan Xun startled, then immediately clutched him tightly, burying her face in his chest and inhaling his scent deeply.
“My lord, I almost didn’t get to see you again.”
Gong Mo Ran gently patted her back. “Duoduo, I won’t let anything happen to you.”
Nan Xun couldn’t hear him. Red-eyed, she sank into her own sorrowful world.
“My lord, I’m blind. I won’t ever see what you look like again. My ears are deaf too—I’ll never hear your voice again. My world feels completely dark… empty and meaningless…”
Gong Mo Ran frowned slightly and held her even tighter. “Duoduo, tell me—what exactly happened?”
Nan Xun, unable to hear a word, continued talking to herself.
“My lord, do you think my sense of taste and smell will fade too? If one day I can’t even smell you anymore… what would be the point of living like that…”
She looked devastated, as if the sky were about to collapse.
Gong Mo Ran stared blankly at the woman in his arms. Seeing her on the verge of tears, he lowered his head and captured her soft lips, giving her a deep, lingering kiss.
Only after a long while did their lips part.
Nan Xun sniffed softly, then quickly stuck out her tongue to lick her lips. She shyly burrowed into his chest and said in a low voice, “My lord, you’re so good. I feel safe right away. From now on… you should kiss me more.”
Gong Mo Ran gently stroked her hair and said softly, “Duoduo, we’re leaving.”
He lifted Nan Xun into his arms and openly pushed the door open, walking outside.
In the courtyard stood over a hundred plainclothes experts—archers in the front row, blades in the second, spears in the third.
The man leading them stared at Gong Mo Ran coldly, killing intent on his face.
“National Preceptor, Rose is now my consort. What do you think you’re doing?”
