Chapter 39: Eliminated
The female ghost agreed but left a mark on Bai Cha.
“If you dare to lie to me, I will tear you apart immediately.”
[Damn, she actually pulled it off]
[Just wait, she’ll only live for a little while. Where is she going to find a body?]
[Living for a little while is still living. She’s pretty awesome]
Bai Cha curled up on the ground, looking disheveled, pitiful, and defenseless.
But she had survived.
Bai Cha rested on the ground for a long time before using her hands and feet to help herself up against the wall.
Pushing open the door, Bai Cha paused.
This wasn’t room 306, and there was someone inside.
Bai Cha almost immediately closed the door again.
A pitch-black hand tried to reach in through the crack before the door closed.
Bai Cha looked at the mirror.
The female ghost was long gone.
Tsk.
Trouble.
The bathroom door was being pounded on.
Bai Cha didn’t know how long this door could hold. Honestly, her body had really reached its limit.
But she had to find a way to leave.
What was outside?
Bai Cha sensed the location of the dodder. It was a bit far, indicating that she should be on the third floor, but she didn’t know which room.
If she could call someone over, that would be great.
Bai Cha turned on the faucet.
The clear, clean water flow proved that the female ghost had no intention of coming here again.
Bai Cha’s attempt to play a trick within a trick had failed.
There was no other way.
Besides fighting head-on, she couldn’t think of any other good solution.
This game was not only unfriendly to newbies but even more extremely unfriendly to someone with her poor constitution.
Bai Cha picked up the dagger, leaning against the wall beside the door.
The door was shaking violently from the pounding.
Finally, the hinges on the side of the door broke under the strain.
A pitch-black thing rushed in all at once. Bai Cha, at the moment the door was kicked open, quickly ran out along the side. The bathroom was right next to the door. If she was fast enough, she could immediately open the door and leave.
But she was a sickly person, and a sickly person who had already exhausted almost all her physical strength.
The door was open, but she didn’t have time to close it.
She almost instinctively rolled on the ground. The pitch-black figure passed behind her and crashed into the wall.
Bai Cha also clearly saw that the room she had just been in was 304.
That figure bared its teeth and almost immediately sprang back up from the ground.
Bai Cha wanted to hide in 307. That door was right next to her and was ajar. Those were the players’ rooms, so there shouldn’t be such things there.
But she was too slow.
Bai Cha used the dagger to block the teeth that were biting towards her. The disgusting stench of rotting flesh rushed towards her face.
The pitch-black figure’s fingernails were very long, digging deeply into her shoulders, completely piercing her.
Bai Cha didn’t have enough strength to begin with. Besides watching helplessly as its mouth got closer and closer to her, she had no ability to resist.
She could only use that skill card.
Bai Cha gritted her teeth. She had been holding the skill card in her hand all along.
Just as she was about to use it, she heard a gunshot, and the monster on her suddenly fell backwards.
Then there were two more gunshots. The monster screamed and quickly retreated, shrinking back into room 304.
Bai Cha lay on the ground, exhausted.
“Thank you.”
Wang Xuming shook his head, staring at her complicatedly. “You know the board game restarted now?”
Bai Cha raised an eyebrow.
“Probably about ten minutes ago? We got a notification saying you completed the task. But unfortunately, you didn’t come back, so we restarted. This is my second round doing a task.”
His task wasn’t on the third floor. He just heard movement upstairs when he was going up.
Out of curiosity, he took a look and didn’t expect it to be Bai Cha.
Bai Cha chuckled in exasperation.
What? According to the game rules, she had to come back the moment she completed the task, otherwise it would be assumed she was gone?
Wang Xuming helped her up.
“I have to go to the second floor for my task.” Wang Xuming didn’t ask her what happened. It wasn’t the time to talk anyway.
He just took her to the second-floor landing.
Bai Cha weakly thanked him again and then rolled down the stairs directly.
Thank goodness there was still carpet on the stairs.
Wang Xuming: “…”
She really didn’t care about her image at all.
Shaking his head, Wang Xuming went to do his task.
Bai Cha rolled down from the second floor to the first floor.
Ponytail girl was still on the first floor.
She had several not-so-light injuries. Seeing someone rolling down from upstairs and then clearly seeing who it was, she immediately sat up in shock from her seemingly deathbed.
“Bai Cha?!”
She looked at this person, whom they had already assumed was dead, with some shock.
Bai Cha looked up, forcing a smile on her pale face, and continued to roll towards them.
Ponytail girl’s lips twitched. She supported herself to get up.
Although she was seriously injured, she could still walk, unlike Bai Cha on the ground.
She helped Bai Cha up from the ground, and the two of them collapsed onto the sofa together.
Looking at each other.
After a long while, Bai Cha suddenly smiled.
“It’s good to see you again.”
Ponytail girl: “…”
She awkwardly propped herself up, glanced at her swollen shoulder with black blood flowing, and took out a bottle of wound medicine.
“Use this. I don’t know if it will help.”
Ponytail girl sprinkled the powder on her wound. Bai Cha felt the pain ease a lot. But the shadow figure’s fingernails were probably poisonous.
The wound medicine couldn’t detoxify, and Ponytail girl couldn’t help either.
“If your hand can still move, help me cut out that piece of meat,” Bai Cha gave her the dagger.
Ponytail girl hesitated for a moment, then picked up the dagger and made a clean cut.
Bai Cha’s already bloodless face looked even whiter than paper.
After the rotten flesh was cut off, bright red blood flowed out. But this didn’t mean the poison was resolved. Some of the poison should have already entered her body through the blood.
But it was better than nothing.
Ponytail girl helped her stop the bleeding again with the wound medicine, then looked at her with some admiration.
She didn’t make a sound, truly amazing.
“How did you survive? We all thought you…”
Bai Cha weakly closed her eyes.
“Tell me first, why did you think I was dead?”
Ponytail nodded.
“Not long after you left, the system notified us that your task was completed. But immediately after, it said you were trapped in the ‘Land Without Doors’ and eliminated. The remaining players could restart the board game.”
Bai Cha looked at the chessboard.
Red was now at 4 points, yellow at 10, blue at 12, and green at 9.
Just…
Ponytail girl also noticed her gaze, her lips twitching slightly. Because the white piece was still at 26.
None of them were so “lucky” as to jump across the numbers on the board all at once.
And Bai Cha hadn’t returned after leaving, so naturally, no one wanted that “luck.”
“Then what am I now?” Bai Cha raised an eyebrow.
If being eliminated meant she didn’t have to continue playing the board game… could she lie here and rest for a while?
Ponytail girl couldn’t answer her question. It probably depended on the system.
“You guys have had two rounds of dice rolls after I left. Red is on the third roll, right?”
Bai Cha asked weakly.
Ponytail girl nodded.
She looked at the red piece, her lips twitching slightly.
If Bai Cha was a lucky person who took too big of a leap, then this person was a lucky person with terrible luck.
