After Transmigrating into a 1960s Novel, What’s Wrong with Me Being a Little Bad? – CH9

Villainous Female Supporting Character

Chapter 9: Villainous Female Supporting Character

Lin Wan woke up a bit late the next day.

She glanced at the watch on her wrist—it was already past ten o’clock!

Not having to be a corporate slave and being able to sleep until she woke up naturally felt amazing!

The house was completely quiet.

There was not a single soul in the living room, and the doors to all the other rooms were shut tight.

Clatter! Suddenly, a loud metallic noise echoed from the master bedroom.

Lin Wan walked over and found the door slightly ajar.

She pushed it open.

There stood Zhang Qin, her face stark white, turning her head back in sheer terror.

Zhang Qin had accidentally knocked over the enamel mug on the writing desk, chipping off a tiny piece of the porcelain coating.

“Looking for the household register?” Lin Wan raised an eyebrow, letting out a yawn.

“The household register is right here with me!” Lin Wan went back to her room, brought out the booklet, and flaunted it right in front of Zhang Qin’s eyes.

“If you want it, give me twenty yuan.”

Lin Wan had asked Huang Guixiang for the register the previous night, explicitly fearing that Huang Guixiang would refuse to give it to Zhang Qin to get her marriage certificate.

Zhang Qin stared blankly at Lin Wan. “Huh?”

Lin Wan rolled her eyes. “Not willing?”

“Then it’s fifty!”

“Plus ten jin of grain coupons and two feet… no, four feet of cloth coupons!”

“If you want it, it’s cash on delivery!”

Zhang Qin, of course, wanted it.

But she didn’t have any money.

She could only bite her lip as tears fell, her sorrowful, resentful eyes gradually turning hollow and despairing.

Lin Wan clearly knew she couldn’t produce the money, which was exactly why she asked for it. She just wanted to watch her make a fool of herself. She wanted her to open her eyes to reality…

Lin Wan was utterly speechless. “If you don’t have money, ask Guo Xuyang for it!”

“If he doesn’t even have money, what is he marrying a wife for?”

“A woman marries a man to be clothed and fed. If he isn’t even willing to shell out this pocket change, making you shoulder every single risk and responsibility by yourself, why the hell are you marrying him? He might as well stay a bachelor for the rest of his life and stop wasting the time of other young women!”

So incredibly agonizingly slow!

With that, she grabbed Zhang Qin’s hand and headed downstairs.

True enough, once they stepped out of the family compound, Guo Xuyang materialized from Lord knows where. With a face full of fury, he charged right up to Lin Wan and violently yanked Zhang Qin behind his back.

“Lin Wan, what do you think you’re doing?”

“Bullying Zhang Qin again!”

“Do you really think I can’t handle you?”

Lin Wan genuinely didn’t want to waste her breath on these two. She brandished the household register in her hand. “Give me one hundred yuan, twenty jin of grain coupons, and one meter of cloth coupons, and the register is yours!”

Zhang Qin blurted out, “Didn’t you say fifty yuan?”

Lin Wan crossed her arms over her chest and tilted her chin up, looking utterly haughty and arrogant. “That was the previous price. But now that he’s barked at me, I have to charge an emotional distress fee!”

If she didn’t demand a bit more, this pair of star-crossed lovers would constantly assume she, Lin Wan, harbored malicious intentions and was plotting something. She had no choice but to painstakingly raise the stakes over and over again!

Guo Xuyang glared death daggers into Lin Wan’s eyes, squeezing out words from between his teeth: “You better not be playing any tricks!”

He happened to have money and coupons on him. He had originally planned to take Zhang Qin to the department store to buy two sets of new clothes after she successfully stole the register and registered their marriage.

“We go to the Civil Affairs Bureau together.”

“Once the marriage certificate is issued, I’ll give you the money!” Guo Xuyang suspected that the household register in Lin Wan’s hand was a fake.

Lin Wan followed the two of them onto the public bus straight to the Civil Affairs Bureau without a second thought.

She failed to notice Huo Xiao’s jeep parked just outside the family compound area.

Du Guoqiang, who had witnessed the entire sequence of events, was completely dumbfounded.

“Good grief, how can a female comrade be this wicked?”

“She looks so beautiful, but her heart is pitch black!”

“When looking for a partner, you still have to find someone kind-hearted. It doesn’t matter what the face looks like once the lights are turned off…”

“Regiment Commander Huo, you really must keep your eyes peeled when looking for a partner!”

Huo Xiao opened the passenger side door, his expression unreadable, his voice entirely detached. “Get out!”

“Find a spot on your own and do one hundred deep squats, one hundred push-ups, run two thousand meters…”

“And hand in a written self-criticism tonight!”

“If you can’t break that foul habit of gossiping about female comrades, the punishment will be doubled next time!”

Du Guoqiang: “…”

Slap!

He gave himself a swift smack across the face. Regiment Commander Huo absolutely detested hearing people gossip about female comrades, so why couldn’t he control his own stupid mouth!

Huo Xiao drove the car off, leaving a cloud of dust behind.

At the Civil Affairs Bureau.

Guo Xuyang had used his connections to bypass the Zhang family and obtain a marriage referral letter for Zhang Qin. With all the paperwork in order, the marriage certificate was processed very quickly.

Holding the marriage certificate, Zhang Qin felt completely dazed, struck by an incredibly surreal sensation. It had gone too smoothly; just like Zhang Qin, Guo Xuyang felt as though he were dreaming.

The moment they stepped out of the Civil Affairs Bureau, Lin Wan extended her hand toward Guo Xuyang. “Money and coupons!”

Guo Xuyang absentmindedly handed the money and coupons over to Lin Wan. Lin Wan counted them with a beaming smile, happily stuffed them into her canvas military satchel, and even patted the bag with her hand.

Her money-grubbing display was simply too painful to look at.

“Thanks a bunch, Brother-in-law!”

“Wishing Big Sister and Brother-in-law a happy marriage!”

A whole one hundred yuan! That was equivalent to three months’ wages for an ordinary worker! Pure bliss!

She turned around and left, without dragging her feet in the slightest!

[Host, someone is following you!] The system suddenly popped up to alert Lin Wan.

Lin Wan instantly grew alert. “How many?”

It seemed that collecting cash right on the street had made her a target.

System: [Three hundred points!]

Lin Wan: “Got it… there are three of them!”

System: […]

It went offline in sheer frustration!

Lin Wan suddenly whirled around and began walking in the opposite direction.

The three sneaky-looking young men coming toward her instinctively dodged to the side. Once Lin Wan brushed right past them, the three of them immediately resumed their tail.

Meanwhile, Lin Wan had already used the cover of her canvas satchel to grip the electric baton firmly in her hand.

Lin Wan led them in a merry chase until they reached a quiet, deserted alleyway.

The trio was utterly ecstatic. They had assumed that since the girl had noticed them, they wouldn’t get a chance to strike. Who could have guessed she would actually dive right into a secluded alleyway!

Two of them instantly blocked Lin Wan from the front and back.

Lin Wan immediately clutched her satchel tightly, putting on a thoroughly terrified expression. “What… what do you want?”

“I’m… I’m going to scream!”

The two men let out oily, crude laughs. Without uttering a word, they slowly closed in on her, their eyes sweeping filthily over her body. Their greasy gazes made Lin Wan feel thoroughly repulsed.

“What are you doing?!”

“What kind of man bullies a female comrade!”

Right at that moment.

The third man rushed into the alley, barking an upright, righteous reprimand at the other two men. He charged right in front of Lin Wan, spreading his arms wide in a protective stance. “Comrade, don’t be afraid. I will protect you!”

His face full of righteousness didn’t last even three seconds.

He suddenly convulsed violently and collapsed straight onto the ground.

Lin Wan looked down at the twitching, convulsing man, who was still clutching a razor blade in his hand, and shrieked in absolute terror: “Epilepsy!”

“His epilepsy is flaring up!”

“Hurry up and pry his mouth open, or he’s going to bite his own tongue off and die!”

The man’s accomplices were completely thrown into a panic by this sudden, unexpected turn of events. Without a second thought, the two of them instinctively followed Lin Wan’s directives to save their buddy.

Taking advantage of the opportunity, Lin Wan delivered an electric shock to each of them.

Bzzzt, bzzzt~

Twitch, twitch~

They convulsed as if they were performing a breakdance, which actually looked oddly spectacular.

All of them were down.

Lin Wan didn’t leave. Instead, she pulled out a notebook, drafted a statement explaining the situation, and then used a small pocket knife to slice open their fingers, pressing their thumbprints onto the paper one by one.

Then, Lin Wan flashed a thoroughly villainous smile at the three men and stripped them until they were left in nothing but their underpants.

She then used their own clothes and trousers to tie their hands and feet securely together.

She delivered two resounding slaps to the face of the guy at the very top to wake him up.

When Zhou Jun woke up from the slaps, he was still completely dazed. But he very quickly realized his predicament and looked up at Lin Wan in absolute terror.
