The Shop Owner Is Always Picking Up Endangered Furries – CH55

I Really Can’t Be a Matchmaker

Chapter 55: I Really Can’t Be a Matchmaker

The next morning, Su Wudeng reluctantly bid farewell to Aihua and General Chu.

As they prepared to board the battleship, Su Wudeng held onto Aihua, repeating her instructions one last time. “Put your safety first. Don’t take unnecessary risks, and make sure you listen to General Chu, understand?”

“Be sure to eat well and take good care of yourself. I will definitely visit you as soon as I get the chance.”

She stroked Aihua’s fur again and again. These past few days had flown by entirely too fast; it felt as though they had just reunited, and now it was already time to separate.

Aihua’s large paws gently patted Su Wudeng in return. “I know. You have to take good care of yourself too.”

After a long embrace, Aihua finally let go and turned to walk toward General Chu. The General reached out to pat Aihua, who, in a rare display of obedience, didn’t dodge. Instead, the beast simply kept her gaze glued to the ground, not daring to look back for fear of losing her courage to leave.

General Chu turned to Su Wudeng. “Aihua’s military merit rewards will be sent to her shortly after we return. Don’t worry, I will take good care of her.”

“Then… are we leaving now?”

No matter how reluctant they were, the moment to say goodbye had arrived. Su Wudeng could only stand and watch as General Chu and Aihua boarded the battleship, her eyes lingering until the vessel entirely disappeared from sight.

Amber and Yingying rubbed against Su Wudeng’s legs. “Don’t worry, sister. Aihua is incredibly strong. She’ll be just fine.”

Su Wudeng rubbed the furry dog and cat heads, a warm feeling spreading through her chest. “I know,” she whispered. “I just hate to see her go.”

Aihua was doing this so that they could all live safely; Su Wudeng knew she couldn’t let her down.

She forced herself to cheer up and led Amber and Yingying toward the training ground. “Come on, let’s go see how the little ones are doing!”

It had been days. Surely, the young cubs had made some progress by now.

The moment they arrived at the training ground, Amber and Yingying bolted off like they were at a playground. One dashed straight into the forest simulation, while the other sprinted toward the snow mountain environment. They were having far too much fun to be reined in.

Su Wudeng rubbed her temples in exasperation. “You two… you’re supposed to be setting an example!”

“You’re just playing around, what about your training?!”

Amber had run so fast that even her shadow was gone. Yingying was still visible, but she just stared back at Su Wudeng with wide, innocent eyes.

Su Wudeng sighed. “…Just wait! I’ll be drafting a strict training plan for you right away! And remedial lessons, too!”

But for now, her priority was checking on the cubs. She switched the viewing monitor to the forest simulation and immediately spotted a little husky galloping happily through the trees.

“Hey, isn’t that Ha Shuai?” Su Wudeng recognized Shu Can’s little husky right away.

She watched for a moment, nodding in approval. “Not bad at all. He’s got a sturdy build, fluid movements, and great agility. It looks like Shu Can’s training is really paying off.”

Just then, Ha Shuai noticed her. He abruptly changed direction and bolted toward Su Wudeng, his tail wagging furiously.

“Woof! Woof!”

Before Su Wudeng could even brace herself, Ha Shuai launched into her arms like a furry little cannonball, nearly knocking her over.

“Oh my, you little troublemaker!”

She staggered back a few steps before finally steadying herself and wrapping her arms around the excited pup. Ha Shuai was ecstatic. He immediately started showering her face with sloppy kisses, his tail wagging so hard his entire body shook. He was chubby, incredibly soft, and wonderfully warm to hold.

Su Wudeng completely melted under the passionate husky’s affection. “Oh, how is our Ha Shuai so cute? Give me a kiss!”

She scooped the little dog up, nuzzling him and planting kisses all over his furry face.

“Come here, I have snacks! Do you like beef jerky?”

The moment the words “beef jerky” left her mouth, Ha Shuai’s nose twitched. His dark eyes sparkled, his ears perked up, and he nodded vigorously. It was overwhelmingly adorable.

“Here you go, have a treat!” Su Wudeng handed him a strip of meat.

Ha Shuai snatched it out of her hand in a flash and began devouring it voraciously.

A massive smile spread across Su Wudeng’s face. “How can a dog be this cute even when it’s just eating?”

“Good boy, Ha Shuai. Don’t worry, there’s plenty more.”

However, just as she tossed him a few more pieces of meat, a furious shout echoed from deep within the forest simulation.

“Ha Shuai! Where did you run off to?! You haven’t finished today’s training!”

The pup in her arms stiffened. His ears instantly flattened into “airplane ears,” and he cast a wildly guilty look toward the trees. He had completely forgotten about his owner!

Shu Can’s voice drew closer. “If I find out you’re slacking off, your snack privileges are revoked for the rest of the day!”

Su Wudeng—who had been secretly feeding the dog snacks and enabling his slacking—froze.

She quickly placed Ha Shuai on the ground and whispered, “Run, Ha Shuai! Don’t let Shu Can catch you!”

Thankfully, Ha Shuai was incredibly smart and understood immediately. He raised a paw, gave Su Wudeng a quick wave goodbye, and dashed back into the depths of the forest.

Su Wudeng let out a long breath. “…Why do I feel like a criminal who just successfully evaded the police?”

She shook her head. It was just her imagination! Definitely her imagination. She had simply made the same mistake anyone would make—who could possibly resist a fluffy husky puppy rushing into their arms? Was feeding him two little strips of meat really a crime?

Of course not!

…But it was time to slip away.

Su Wudeng quickly exited the forest environment. After a moment’s thought, she switched over to the snow mountain environment.

There, she found four snow crystal cats happily playing in the snowdrifts. Before she could even take a step, the four kittens spotted her and bounded over with joyful meows.

The snow crystal kittens had grown quite a bit. Their fur was pristine white, long, and exceptionally smooth—like pure silk. Just looking at them made a person’s hands itch to pet them. And their eyes were a stunning sky-blue, so clean and clear it felt like gazing into the heavens.

The kittens politely circled Su Wudeng’s legs before pressing against her, purring like little motors.

“…This has to be an invitation to pet them, right?” she muttered to herself. “It definitely is!”

She crouched down. Snowball was the bravest; he proactively flopped over, exposing his fluffy white belly, and nudged his little head against her hand. His entire body language screamed: Please pet!

Su Wudeng couldn’t resist. She gently scooped up Snowball’s paws and stroked him from head to tail, rubbing him until he went entirely limp with bliss, tilting his head back to expose his chin for better scratches.

Su Wudeng felt like she had ascended. She leaned down and took a deep sniff of kitten fur. “Oh, our Snowball is so precious! Give me a kiss!”

Snowball trilled happily.

Seeing this, the other snow crystal cats grew jealous. Baiyun let out a soft meow, reached out a tentative paw, and gently hooked Su Wudeng’s pant leg, staring up at her with huge, innocent eyes.

“So cute! Come here!”

Before she could reach for Baiyun, Xiaoxue and Xiaohua took matters into their own paws, leaping directly onto Su Wudeng’s shoulders and aggressively rubbing their fuzzy heads against her cheeks and chin.

Su Wudeng was utterly defeated by the coordinated kitten combo. They were simply too good at this! Feeling dizzy with joy, she murmured, “What a glorious day!”

The kittens were so affectionate and clingy that Su Wudeng couldn’t hold back. She unleashed her ultimate weapon: dried meat snacks!

“Come here, little cuties~ Here comes the jerky!”

The snow crystal cats were instantly captivated. They flicked out their tiny pink tongues, gnawing off pieces of the jerky and eating with immense relish. Watching them eat so happily, Su Wudeng happily pulled out even more treats.

“Oh my gosh, you’re all so adorable. How are you this cute when you eat?”

But a small part of her wondered… why were Ha Shuai and the kittens acting like they were starved for snacks? She distinctly remembered that Shu Can usually provided unlimited snacks for his pets.

Suddenly, a chill ran down her spine. A cool, familiar voice drifted from behind her.

“I was just wondering why Snowball’s training data had plateaued…”

“Turns out, someone is secretly slipping him snacks.”

Su Wudeng’s entire body went rigid. She slowly, silently withdrew the piece of jerky she was holding. Turning around, she saw Chu Yansen, Zhong Huihui, and Keke standing right behind her.

Keke puffed out her cheeks. “Sister! Xiaoxue is supposed to be exercising! You can’t feed them secret snacks!”

Huihui crossed her arms, her voice dry. “Manager, are you really that easily manipulated by Baiyun? Just look at his little belly. He’s eaten at least three strips of your meat!” She sighed. “There is absolutely no way he’s finishing his exercise routine today.”

Chu Yansen looked deeply exasperated. “Manager, earlier today Shu Can accused me of not keeping an eye on you, and I told him he was being paranoid. But the minute I turn my back…” He shook his head. “You really can’t sneak them treats anymore. These little guys rely on those snacks as their sole motivation to train.”

Su Wudeng, who had just completely derailed their training regimen with a mountain of jerky, was left utterly speechless.

She rubbed the back of her head, offering a sheepish smile. “Sorry. I just… they were so cute, and I…” She raised a hand in solemn oath. “I promise I won’t do it again!”

“Really?”

The three of them stared at her with intense skepticism. Did their manager actually possess that kind of self-control?

Their collective glare made Su Wudeng’s scalp tingle. “Well, look at the time! I have some paperwork to do, so… I’ll just leave you to it!”

She bolted out of the room, disappearing in the blink of an eye.

Chu Yansen crossed his arms, his expression serious. “It appears we failed to account for the ‘Store Manager’ variable in our training modules.”

“Agreed,” Zhong Huihui nodded sharply. “From now on, we must keep a close eye on her. We cannot allow her to be sweet-talked by the cubs again.”

Keke raised her hand, her small face set in fierce determination. “Leave it to me! Keke will complete the mission!”

Back in her office, Su Wudeng took a moment to reflect on her weakness. She resolved to learn from her mistakes. Next time, she would not be so easily swindled out of her dried meat supply!

“I can do this!” she hyped herself up.

“Do what?” Professor Yang asked, looking slightly confused as he walked into the room. He held a tablet in his hand and offered it to her. “Manager Su, this is the first cut of the Lingnai Deer documentary that Old Chen and I put together. Would you mind taking a look?”

“If it meets your standards, we’d like to release it today.”

This project had been in the works for a while. When Professor Yang was working on it alone, progress had been sluggish, but ever since Professor Chen joined the team, the production speed had skyrocketed.

Professor Chen hovered anxiously behind Professor Yang. Though he had met Su Wudeng before, he was incredibly nervous right now. This was the very first project he had completed at Chong’ai Pet Home. He was deeply proud of the work and desperately hoped Su Wudeng would be satisfied, as it was his ticket to staying and studying the Lingnai Deer long-term.

The moment Su Wudeng hit play, her eyes lit up.

The video opened with a breathtaking, sweeping shot of a vibrant green wave of grass. This transitioned smoothly into a stunning close-up of a Lingnai Deer grazing in a lush meadow. The deer in the shot was Lu Nuan, her gentle, warm eyes staring soulfully into the camera.

“This cinematography is gorgeous. It’s incredibly moving,” Su Wudeng praised.

The title card faded in: All Things Grow: The Lingnai Deer.

The documentary meticulously detailed the habits, characteristics, and unique abilities of the herd. It covered their origins and beautifully captured the sweeping ecological changes they brought to their environment.

The most breathtaking sequence, however, was a scene where the Lingnai Deer interacted with a stretch of barren wasteland. Through the lens of the camera, the deer truly looked like the divine embodiments of nature, radiating pure, untamed vitality.

When the two-hour video ended, Su Wudeng only had one word. “Amazing.”

She looked up at the two professors. “This is an absolute masterpiece. I think we should broadcast it during prime time tonight! I guarantee people are going to fall in love with the Lingnai Deer.”

She honestly hadn’t expected the two professors to produce something of this caliber. Every single frame was visually stunning, and every scene was packed with raw, infectious emotion. Watching it gave her the exact same sense of awe she had felt when she first saw the deer cause the Green Wind Grass to sprout.

“Thank you both so much,” she said sincerely. “You clearly poured your hearts into this.”

Professor Yang and Professor Chen beamed, their anxiety evaporating. Their hard work had finally paid off.

Professor Chen was practically vibrating with excitement. “Then, Manager Su… does this mean I can stay at the pet home? Can I continue observing the Lingnai Deer?”

“Of course!” Su Wudeng smiled. “Actually, Professor Chen, I wanted to ask if you’d be willing to take charge of the experimental field project entirely?”

“I’d like to formally hand the project over to you.”

He was a professional forestry and ecological researcher—infinitely more qualified for the job than her half-baked attempts. There was no way she was letting talent like this slip through her fingers!

Professor Chen nearly jumped out of his shoes. “Really?! Are you serious?”

“I am more than willing! I would be honored!”

The dream he had chased his entire career was suddenly sitting right in front of him. This was his chance! He didn’t just want to reconstruct the grassland ecology; eventually, he wanted to rebuild the forest ecology, too. This experimental field at Chong’ai Pet Home was the perfect first step.

“Excellent.” Su Wudeng extended a hand. “Welcome to Chong’ai Pet Home, Professor Chen. Our benefits package is top-tier; I’ll have Huihui go over the details with you later.”

“For now, just focus on your research and make yourself at home!”

Professor Yang enthusiastically shook Su Wudeng’s hand on his colleague’s behalf. “Wonderful, wonderful!”

The manager truly understood them! He turned to glance at Old Chen. No wonder he hadn’t wanted to leave since the day he arrived. Now, Chen was never going to leave!

At 7 PM sharp, Chong’ai Pet Home officially released the documentary: All Things Grow: The Lingnai Deer.

[What a surprise drop! Right after dinner, too!]

[Wait, it’s a full two-hour documentary? I’m so happy right now!]

[Ahhhh, it’s about the cute little deer!]

[…Is this a joke? The deer can actually promote plant growth?!]

[Can someone verify this? Is that real grass or CGI?]

[The production value is great… but this is way too fake! How can a wasteland turn into a grassland overnight?]

[The ignorant people above me need to shut up. These are Lingnai Deer. Go read the Beast Atlas! Healing and accelerated plant growth are their natural abilities!]

[Manager Su… how on earth did you get your hands on Lingnai Deer?! And a whole herd of them?!]

[I want to form a contract! This is a legendary healing-type beast! Manager, please open up contracts for them!]

Within an hour of its premiere, the documentary shattered 100 million views, taking the internet by storm.

The trending search algorithms completely broke down, dominated entirely by Lingnai Deer topics:

#LingnaiDeer #GrowthOfAllThings #ChongAiPetHome #WastelandTurnedGrasslandRealOrFake? #HealingSystemBeasts #ContractPlease!

Thousands of comments flooded the official Chong’ai Pet Home social media accounts.

Su Wudeng had mentally prepared herself for the backlash, so the chaos didn’t surprise her. Scrolling through the feedback, she noticed the commenters generally fell into three distinct factions:

[Fake, obviously fake! It’s totally CGI. How can grass grow fast enough to see with the naked eye?]

[Do you guys actually believe these are Lingnai Deer? They’ve been extinct for ages. They just found some random deer and slapped some special effects on the video to generate hype. Hilarious.]

This group outright refused to believe the footage of the Green Wind Grass growing. They assumed it was a technological parlor trick orchestrated by the pet home for marketing.

[Manager Su, ignore the haters! Don’t let them ruin your mood, they just lack education. I love the video! Can you please post more of the deer?!]

[That green color is so refreshing! I watched it in holographic mode, and you can clearly see the intricate patterns on the grass blades. I guarantee you this is 100% real!]

[I feel like my soul was cleansed just by looking at that meadow. It’s beautiful.]

[Two hours was not enough! Manager, can you release an extended cut? I want to see the deer working! I want to see them eating! I just want more deer!]

This group fully believed the documentary but was starved for content. They wanted to know everything about the Lingnai Deer and begged for more footage.

No matter what the documentary was about, this group had only one goal: if a pet appeared on the Chong’ai Pet Home feed, they wanted to sign a contract with it immediately.

Su Wudeng chuckled. “…Well, at least the third group is pragmatic.”

However, the contract seekers were the minority and quickly got drowned out by the endless arguments between the skeptics and the believers.

Su Wudeng pondered her next move. How about a live broadcast?

She had promised her followers more daily life streams of the cubs, but she’d been so swamped with work that she had completely forgotten.

“Should I broadcast the cubs in the training ground?”

She quickly dismissed the thought. After her earlier stunt with the jerky, Huihui and the others were definitely keeping her on a short leash. She felt entirely too guilty to interrupt them again. “Never mind. The cubs need to focus.”

So, what could she stream?

An idea suddenly struck her, and her eyes lit up.

“A mukbang!”

“A live broadcast of the Lingnai Deer eating!”

It was brilliant. She didn’t have to do anything except set up a camera. It was low-effort, it would satisfy the fans begging for more deer content, and it wouldn’t disrupt anyone’s training. Plus, she remembered from her past life that animal eating broadcasts were wildly popular. She used to watch them herself while eating dinner; it always made the food taste better.

“Perfect. It’s settled!”

Early the next morning, Su Wudeng hauled the live broadcast equipment out to the Lingnai Deer’s feeding area.

It was a beautiful little garden she had specifically designed near the experimental field to serve as a resting spot for the herd. She had planted an array of vibrant flowers and shrubs, giving the space a lively, organic feel. She had even built a few quaint wooden sheds and set up rustic tables and chairs, making it look like an idyllic countryside retreat.

A few of the deer were already grazing when she arrived. After ensuring they were comfortable with the equipment, she booted up the stream.

Some of the younger deer were intensely curious about the floating camera drone. They nudged it with their wet noses, but after a few minutes of playing, they got bored and wandered back to their breakfast.

The camera was locked to the main feeding area, ensuring the deer’s private resting zones remained off-camera. Thanks to Lu Nuan and Nana’s hard work, the herd had expanded; there were now ten Lingnai Deer working at the pet home, and the number was steadily growing.

When the stream went live, the sheer volume of deer left the viewers stunned.

[Ahhhhh! So many of them!]

[This is the best! Waking up and watching little deer eat their breakfast is top-tier serotonin!]

[The environment is gorgeous. Did the manager build this just for them?]

[Not gonna lie, I’m a little jealous of a deer right now. I want to live there.]

[Same!!! Take my money!]

[Manager, are you seriously not considering opening this up for tourism? I would book a flight today!]

[Right?! Just build a little garden hotel! You can charge a premium just for the view! You’d make an absolute fortune!]

[Manager, if you hate money that much, let me run the business! I already have ten different monetization strategies mapped out in my head!]

Su Wudeng rubbed her temples. “…”

Okay, sure, everyone loves making money, but I can’t just turn their home into a resort, can I?

Seeing the chat spiral rapidly into venture capitalism, she quickly stepped in. “Thank you all for the enthusiastic suggestions! I’ll put up a dedicated forum post later to collect everyone’s business ideas, alright?”

“But for today, let’s just focus on enjoying the Lingnai Deer.”

[Hehehe! The manager actually listens to us! We begged for more deer yesterday, and she delivered today!]

[Wife, if you don’t monetize this, I’m going to cry for you!]

[Watching them eat is so relaxing. I actually ate two extra bowls of cereal just watching this.]

[Can this be a daily morning show? Please?]

[+1! I second this!]

Even though it was early in the morning, the viewer count was already massive and climbing steadily. Su Wudeng was thrilled. The plan worked perfectly—the fans got their content, and she didn’t have to lift a finger! It was fantastic for fan retention, too.

The morning air was crisp and slightly humid. The deer grazed lazily, occasionally pausing to playfully butt heads or trot around the garden.

As she supervised the stream, Su Wudeng suddenly caught sight of a familiar figure in the distance.

Yu Lan was sneaking across the far end of the garden, holding a large bundle of snacks. She waved enthusiastically at Lu Feng.

The moment Lu Feng saw her, the deer bounded over, happily rubbing its head against Yu Lan’s outstretched hand. Yu Lan beamed, gently stroking Lu Feng’s forehead with one hand while feeding it treats with the other. Lu Feng ate greedily, then affectionately nudged her shoulder with its antlers. Yu Lan laughed, wrapping her arms around the deer’s neck and planting a kiss on its cheek.

Su Wudeng, who was watching the entire exchange from the shadows of a shed, was internally screaming. “!!!”

She knew there was something going on between Yu Lan and Lu Feng!

When had they gotten so close in private?!

Were they preparing to form a contract? But if they did… would Lu Feng really be willing to leave the herd and go all the way to the Beast University with Yu Lan?

Suddenly, Su Wudeng felt like a stressed mother discovering her child’s secret romance. Her heart pounded in her chest.

Because Su Wudeng was perfectly concealed inside the shed, Yu Lan never noticed her. After feeding Lu Feng the last of the snacks, she quietly slipped away.

Su Wudeng stood frozen, staring blankly ahead.

She glanced down at her tablet, where the livestream chat was still buzzing with comments about how cute the deer were.

Without thinking, she murmured into her microphone, “Hey, chat… If there are two individuals who shouldn’t technically be together, but they clearly like each other a lot… what would you do?”

[??? What the heck is that pivot? Manager, are you in love?!]

[Logically speaking, the manager didn’t specify ‘human.’ Therefore, I deduce this is about pets!]

[Damn, is our manager stressing over pet romance now?]

Su Wudeng quickly tried to clarify. “No, no, it’s not romantic love! And it’s not between two pets.”

“It’s just a situation where they might end up living together and sharing their futures.”

[Ah, got it. It’s about an owner and a pet, right? Manager, why wouldn’t it be possible for them to be together?]

[Exactly. If they like each other, they clearly have a bond. Don’t panic, let nature take its course!]

Su Wudeng sighed. “…This generation of netizens is entirely too perceptive.”

But reading that last comment made her pause. Let nature take its course.

Yes, Yu Lan and Lu Feng were sneaking around to spend time together. That meant there was a genuine, mutual attraction there.

“Maybe… I’ve been underestimating Lu Feng?”

“What if he actually wants to leave with Yu Lan?”

“Exactly! I just need to ask him!”

If the deer was willing to go, then everything would work out perfectly.

A wave of clarity washed over her. Her entire philosophy for the pet home was letting the beasts choose their own partners. Why was she suddenly abandoning that principle and projecting her own anxieties—assuming it was an “arranged marriage”—onto Lu Feng?

And as for Qingqing…

Su Wudeng sighed softly. Qingqing’s situation was different. The little snake bore too much responsibility on her shoulders; her path was essentially set in stone. Her only real option was to go to the Beast University alongside Yu Lan.

“Why does it feel like I’m forcing them into a political marriage?” she muttered.

But even if it was pre-arranged, she desperately wanted Yu Lan and Qingqing to actually like each other.

Taking comfort in the chat’s supportive energy, Su Wudeng decided to crowdsource some advice.

“So, what do you guys think?” she asked the camera. “If I want to introduce a pet to a person and build their affection for one another… how should I go about it?”

[Introduce? Why does this sound exactly like… matchmaking?]

[Lmao, breaking news: Manager Su quits the pet industry to become a professional matchmaker!]

[This is easy! To be a good matchmaker, you just have to speak their language! Hype the human up to the pet, and hype the pet up to the human!]

[Rubs hands excitedly Manager Su… I’ve been single for a very long time, if you’re taking clients…]

[Highly recommend the book: How to Become a Master Matchmaker in Ten Days.]

Su Wudeng stared at the scrolling text. “…What is wrong with you people?”

She deadpanned at the screen, but the word matchmaker was now thoroughly burned into her brain.

She shook her head vigorously. “…I am absolutely not a matchmaker!”

How had her life come to this?

After the broadcast wrapped up, Su Wudeng spent the walk back to the main building deep in thought. She finally decided that the upcoming Beast Fighting Exchange Conference was the perfect opportunity.

She would bring both Qingqing and Yu Lan along. They could spend time together, bond naturally, and ideally, avoid the awkwardness of an “arranged marriage.”

As soon as she sat down at her desk, there was a knock at the door.

“Manager? Were you looking for me?” Xia Xiyao asked, stepping into the room.

“Yes, come in, take a seat,” Su Wudeng said, gesturing to the chair opposite her.

“I wanted to ask if you’d be available to accompany me to the Beast Fighting Exchange Conference. If I remember correctly, your family—the Xia family—specializes in Green Snakes?”

“And while we’re on the subject, I’d like to know more about the political landscape of the other beast-taming families.”

If General Chu hadn’t given her a heads-up, she never would have realized she had such a valuable informant right under her roof. As the saying went: Know yourself and know your enemy, and you will never be defeated. Before walking into the conference, she needed a crash course on the current power dynamics.

Xia Xiyao paused for a moment before carefully closing the door. She sat down across from Su Wudeng, her expression serious.

“Manager, I don’t know all the inner workings, but I promise to tell you everything I do know.”

“It’s true. I am from the Xia family of Athens, and our ancestral pet is the Green Snake.” She folded her hands on her lap. “Beyond us, there are only two other major families in the Scott Galaxy that possess genuine, ancient pets.”

“The Mu family, whose pet is the Mulberry Silkworm. And the Fei family, whose pet is the Northern Long-tailed Tit.”

Su Wudeng crossed over to a futuristic beast-taming world, only to find herself bound to a Pet Shop Management System. To her dismay, this beast-taming society had already reached its twilight. The planetary ecosystem was on the brink of total collapse, and real pets were critically endangered to the point of extinction. Left with no other choice, humanity had turned to rigid mechanical pets for emotional substitution and relied on digital streams to raise virtual companions.Fortunately, Su Wudeng’s system granted her the unique ability to travel back and forth across a span of ten thousand years, returning to a grand era of prosperity. In that distant past, nature had not yet been ravaged by the great cataclysm, and vibrant, living pets roamed freely across the land. From an abandoned Crystal Snow Cat to a critically injured, dying Iron-Eating Beast, and even a stranded Blue Crystal Whale that practically threw itself at her feet—Su Wudeng simply waved her hand and rescued them all!Consequently, while other shops in the interstellar era were still selling mainstream mechanical pets—advertising their cold, imposing strength and highlighting their hyper-intelligent AI interactions—a soft, marshmallow-like Crystal Snow Cat quietly entered the public eye.Initially, a barrage of negative labels like "fragile," "useless ornament," and "pointless" was slapped onto the creature. Rival pet stores called for an outright boycott, and prominent influencers publicly claimed that raising such weak animals would only make interstellar humans equally soft.Just when every pet shop across the galaxy was confidently declaring that the Crystal Snow Cat could never win the hearts of the modern public, a single comment was upvoted to the top of the trending charts:"Everyone keeps saying they aren't buying one, so why the hell can't I manage to snag one in the shop?!"Only then did the galaxy realize that the netizens around them had secretly turned into master braggarts, constantly flooding social media with their new companions."I am so in love with my little baby! When I was crying late last night, it marched right over with its tiny tail pointing straight up in the air, circling me and meowing non-stop. It kept rubbing its little head against me, and I was instantly comforted!""Waking up in the morning to find my baby snuggling in my arms, purring softly... I am officially the happiest person alive~""So what if it knocks over a vase, drinks from my water glass, or chews on a stray wire? My baby had to leave its mother to come live with me at such a young age; what's wrong with a little harmless mischief!"Interstellar humans, who had never experienced the joy of raising a real, living pet, fell completely and utterly in love. The Crystal Snow Cat swiftly took the entire galaxy by storm.Soon after, Su Wudeng began livestreaming her rescue expeditions in the past, skyrocketing straight to the top of the trending boards. Hyped-up viewers flooded her chat with passionate declarations:# Real women don't hesitate—let me at that massive Snow Leopard!# My house is huge, and I'm not afraid of a guilt trip. Come to me, Blue Crystal Whale!# That Sword-Heart Husky is way too cool! ...Wait a minute, is it currently dismantling her living room?# How can this adorable little fluffball be called an 'Iron-Eating Beast'?# The shopkeeper said it best: 'You lot really live in a golden age.
