Chapter 189
“Plan A failed, now we start Plan B—direct kidnapping!”
Xie Mi whipped a rope out of her pocket, ran straight toward the panicked Liu Woxing, and without a word started tying her up.
Lai Bingxuan was dumbfounded.
“Plan B? Since when was there a Plan B? You never told me! And kidnapping is illegal! You… ah? Forget it! I’m holding her hands, you tie her up!!”
Miss Lai was a straightforward person. She yanked off the cumbersome skirt around her waist that was useless except for hiding her figure, revealing a pair of sport pants underneath, then rushed up and grabbed both of Liu Woxing’s hands.
Liu Woxing struggled like a startled bird.
“Teacher Xie! Miss Lai! This isn’t right! Let me go—”
But clearly, she still hadn’t realized her situation.
At this very moment, she was facing—
Two vicious bandits!!
The bandit leader, Xie Mi, quickly tied her up and slung her over her shoulder, then happily ran toward the window.
Since it was the first floor, she didn’t even need to climb much.
Lai Bingxuan ran to keep watch. Hearing footsteps outside the room door, she hurried back to urge, “Run, someone’s coming!”
“I’ll just hurdle over!!”
Xie Mi leapt out the window in one bound, nearly making Liu Woxing roll her eyes in faint.
Her movement stirred up a gust of wind, which accidentally blew open the book that had been closed on the desk.
It was the book Liu Woxing had just been looking at.
An awkward scene appeared.
Inside the book was a hidden phone, and on the screen was a recording of Human Love Observation Room playing.
Lai Bingxuan caught sight of it: “???”
“Liu Woxing, you were sitting there so seriously reading at your desk, but you were secretly watching a phone hidden in a book?!”
Slung over Xie Mi’s shoulder, Liu Woxing silently shut her eyes, choosing not to acknowledge it.
Lai Bingxuan turned her head—and saw another sight.
Peeking out from under the silk quilt was the corner of a cheap Piggy Hero plush doll.
“You actually still watch Piggy Hero?!”
Xie Mi, already outside the window but still curious, poked her head back to look. “Hey, isn’t that the one I gave you last time?”
Liu Woxing continued playing dead in silence.
But suddenly, Lai Bingxuan became chatty.
“So it was from you, huh. Oh, I was wondering why it looked so ugly, haha, seriously so ugly, so ugly that just looking at it makes me want to throw it away. Oh, although I didn’t.”
…
And so, amidst all the noisy chatter, the “kidnapping” was completed.
When Lu Ping pushed open the bedroom door, all she saw was an empty room and an open window.
And…
From the bathroom came the sound of pounding on the door and cries for help.
The gentle mask on Lu Ping’s face instantly fell, the temperature around her dropping to freezing point. She immediately pulled out her phone and dialed a number.
“Xingzhou, go and get your sister back right now!”
“I think she’s lost her mind!”
…
Liu Woxing sat lifelessly on a chair outside a convenience store, experiencing the first kidnapping of her life.
Meanwhile, the two carefree kidnappers were inside the store, studying food—something called… a “Mark set meal”?
She didn’t really understand, only knew that Teacher Xie suddenly got excited when passing by the store, yelling about showing off her cooking skills, then rushed inside.
Lai Bingxuan followed purely out of curiosity.
After a while, they came back out. Xie Mi was carrying two bowls of instant noodles, and Lai Bingxuan carried one.
“You sure this will taste good?” Lai Bingxuan looked doubtfully at the strange concoction in her bowl.
“Relax, this is the only cooking skill I’ve got.”
Xie Mi sat down in front of the chair, naturally pushed one bowl toward Liu Woxing, and said, “Don’t say I’m mistreating the hostage, okay!”
“…” Liu Woxing stared at the bowl of noodles she’d never seen before.
Actually, she had eaten instant noodles before.
She had once secretly bought a cup, eaten it outside, then lingered at the doorstep until the smell faded before going back home.
At the time, she didn’t know much, so she just picked one at random. Out of curiosity, she took a bite. To be honest, it tasted okay, not amazing—nothing compared to the many delicacies she’d had.
But somehow, that bite stuck in her memory for a long time. Maybe it wasn’t just the taste itself—something else about it made it unforgettable.
Now, looking at the bowl placed before her, Liu Woxing felt complicated.
Across from her, Xie Mi was already wolfing hers down like a storm, and looked ready to go after Lai Bingxuan’s bowl too.
Originally uninterested in instant noodles, Lai Bingxuan suddenly became protective, instinctively raising her hand to guard her food.
“Xie Mi, you scared me! You’re like you’re about to eat me!!” She quickly grabbed a chopstick-full and shoved it into her mouth.
“Pfft—”
Maybe it was too funny a scene, but Liu Woxing couldn’t hold back a laugh. Realizing her slip, she hurriedly pressed her lips shut.
Xie Mi blinked at her.
“You’re not eating?”
“…Seems like I can’t, right?” Liu Woxing raised her bound hands a little as a reminder.
Xie Mi just kept staring silently.
“….” Liu Woxing suddenly felt guilty, her fingers twitching slightly.
In truth…
With the way she was tied, she could easily free herself.
The rope was loose, not even a proper knot.
But though she acted like she was struggling, she hadn’t really tried to move it even a bit. Maybe she was holding herself back, afraid she’d accidentally get free too easily.
She didn’t know what she was feeling now.
She knew this was wrong, and yet… it didn’t feel bad.
“Hm?”
Lai Bingxuan looked up too. Seeing Liu Woxing’s bound hands, she immediately shot Xie Mi a glare. “Are you dumb? How can she eat if she’s tied up? You’ve gotta untie her first!”
Simple-minded Miss Lai didn’t think too much about it and went forward to undo the rope.
Liu Woxing obediently lifted her hands, ready for Lai Bingxuan to untie them.
Actually, she did want to eat those noodles.
Just as Lai Bingxuan loosened the rope, she suddenly thought of something and whipped her head toward Xie Mi. “Wait! What if we untie her and she runs away?!”
Liu Woxing, just freed and ready to eat noodles: “…?”
Why bring that up now…
So should she run or not?
She was torn.
If she ran… she didn’t really want to. But if she didn’t… wouldn’t that make her look way too cooperative in this kidnapping?
While Liu Woxing hesitated, Xie Mi suddenly rolled up her sleeves, cracked her fists, and struck several macho muscle-man poses.
“No worries. If she dares run, I’ll beat her up!”
“What?! You’re gonna hit her?! That’s not right!” Lai Bingxuan was shocked.
But Liu Woxing froze, then quietly lowered her head, picked up the chopsticks, and used the angle to hide the smile tugging at her lips.
Well, then there was no choice.
If it was to avoid a beating, she could only obediently stay put.
