After Ning Xiyue’s family finished the discharge paperwork, Ji Yanming appeared right on time to help them carry their things. Once they left the hospital, he led them to the sedan he had borrowed and loaded the luggage inside.
Meanwhile, Ning Xiyue and Ning Qingyuan rushed to the guesthouse next to the hospital to collect their belongings. After packing up and checking out, they got into Comrade Ji’s car.
This time, their destination was the military base where Ning Qingzhi was stationed.
There was a guesthouse near the base specifically for visiting family members.
They would be staying there this time — it would make discussing Ning Qingzhi’s wedding plans much more convenient.

As they passed a small town, Ning Qingzhi pointed out the window and introduced it to his family:

Song Jiayin added, “Our base also sends a bus to town every week to take family members to the market. So if you don’t want to walk, you can ride the bus.”
“That’s good. If we’re short on anything, we can come here to shop.” Yun Xiulan nodded as she looked at the town outside. There were indeed a few things she wanted to buy.
Meanwhile, Ning Xiyue, leaning against the window, stared at the town’s nameplate by the entrance. The more she looked, the more familiar it seemed. She shifted her posture to see the full name clearly — and once she did, her mind immediately jumped to the property deed and land certificate for that 1,000-square-meter countryside courtyard house she had “checked in” and received a few days ago.
Wasn’t the address listed there in this very Wangjiang Town?
That meant her house had to be somewhere nearby.

“Thank you, Xiao Ji,” Yun Xiulan said cheerfully. She liked this young man — so decisive, stopping without a moment’s hesitation.
“My pleasure.” Ji Yanming smiled warmly and nodded. “Uncle, Auntie, I need to stay here to watch the car, so I won’t join you. Take your time, there’s no rush — I’ll wait right here.”
“Alright, thank you, Xiao Ji. We’ll just take a quick look.” Yun Xiulan planned to buy what she needed and return right away — she didn’t want to leave Xiao Ji waiting too long.
Ning Hai nodded at Ji Yanming to express his gratitude.
Ning Xiyue had noticed that ever since she told Comrade Ji his smile looked nice, he really had been smiling more often — a stark contrast to the serious, stoic man she’d first met. And honestly, it made him look even more handsome.
Comrade Ji was such a good listener — no wonder his smile kept getting better.
Noticing her gaze, Ji Yanming flashed her another bright smile.

Ning Qingyuan and Ning Xiyue, the siblings, trailed behind, strolling and observing as they went. Song Jiayin linked arms with Ning Xiyue, acting as their guide — ostensibly to help them get familiar with the environment and surrounding buildings.
In reality, Ning Xiyue was quietly scanning the architecture to spot her courtyard and casually asking Song Jiayin for any useful information.
With Song Jiayin, a local, by her side, Ning Hai and Yun Xiulan weren’t worried and didn’t bother keeping an eye on the two. They let them wander freely, planning to regroup after they finished shopping.
This made things much easier for Ning Xiyue. Combining what she saw of the buildings with the intel she gathered from Song Jiayin, she deduced the approximate location of her courtyard.
And then she realized — the property was most likely right across the street from the town entrance.
Speechless.
“Host, you could spend 10 points to buy a smart navigation guide. That way you’d reach your farmhouse in the shortest possible time and complete the delivery!”
“Delivery my ass. Now that I’ve already narrowed down the area, now you decide to speak up? Useless system.” Ning Xiyue rolled her eyes.
The system lowered its head and fiddled with its claws, speaking timidly while sneaking glances at her.
“Don’t be mad, Host. We still don’t know the exact spot. How about getting the guide? Or… you could unlock the automatic navigation function for 100 points?”
“No.” Ning Xiyue tossed her braids proudly and continued walking arm-in-arm with Song Jiayin. But after a few steps, she quietly replied to the sulking system in her mind:
“Fine. Spend 100 points to unlock the automatic navigation function.”
“Sigh… okay, Host.” The little turtle waved its claws in the air with renewed energy.
Ning Xiyue smiled. What could she do? Her system was hers to pamper. It was just 100 points for the navigation function — if the system wanted her to unlock it, she would. Besides, it had worked hard to upsell it, and she had points to spare. She might as well help it hit its performance quota.
