Uncle, You’re Missing Me in Your Destiny – CH4

Uncle, May I Go In?

Chapter 4: Uncle, May I Go In?

Su Keke sat where Qin Mochen had indicated. Aside from occasionally sneaking glances toward the master bedroom door, her posture was impeccably straight. She didn’t fidget at all—though the sofa beneath her was so soft, she really wanted to touch it.

“Wait two minutes,” Qin Mochen said, giving her a glance before heading into the master bedroom.

Su Keke’s gaze followed his figure all the way into the room. Only when the door shut did she finally look away.

With so little time, that thing wouldn’t dare do anything anyway.

He said two minutes—and Su Keke truly waited only two minutes.

Two minutes later, the man emerged. His bare upper body was now covered by a loose white tie-front bathrobe, and his hair had been blow-dried until half dry.

He casually sat down on the sofa nearby. Even dressed only in a bathrobe, he exuded an undeniable sense of pressure.

Qin Mochen took a pack of cigarettes and a lighter from a drawer.

With a practiced flick, he lit a cigarette and leisurely exhaled smoke.

Beneath the robe, his long, straight, powerful legs were crossed. One foot, clad in a black soft slipper, dangled lazily, half lifted, half resting.

He narrowed his eyes slightly. His face, partially obscured by smoke, looked cold and severe.

For some reason, being watched like this made Su Keke instinctively straighten her back even more. She didn’t dare sneak glances toward the master bedroom anymore.

“Uncle?” Su Keke asked softly. “May I go into the master bedroom?”

Qin Mochen held the cigarette loosely between two fingers, exhaled a puff of smoke, and asked calmly, “How old are you this year?”

“Eighteen,” Su Keke answered honestly. “I just turned eighteen last month.”

Qin Mochen looked at her with an unreadable gaze. “You look younger than eighteen. You… must have only entered the profession recently, right?”

Hearing him ask about her profession, Su Keke’s eyes immediately lit up. She said excitedly,
“Actually, with my abilities, I could’ve graduated long ago, but Master said I’m still too young. Today’s job is my very first order in life. If I complete it, I’ll officially graduate! Hehe—then I’ll be able to take private commissions!”

Qin Mochen sneered inwardly. Private commissions, huh?

Seems this little one really loved her line of work.

“Why do this? At your age, you should still be in high school,” Qin Mochen asked casually as he exhaled smoke.

In fact, he’d already guessed the answer.

Money.

Whether driven by survival or by moral lapse, it all came down to money.

Su Keke paused, then replied in a matter-of-fact tone, “I don’t have parents. Master found me and raised me. He works in this line, so of course I should inherit his mantle.”

As she said this, her brows curved and her smile turned sweet—so soft it easily brought marshmallows to mind.
“And I really like this profession too. Master says I’m not very talented, but diligence can make up for clumsiness. School goes too slowly, so I’ve always studied on my own. There’s so much to learn in our line of work—I read tons of books every month.”

Qin Mochen paused slightly.

An orphan.

No wonder…

The ash at the tip of his cigarette was about to fall, glowing faintly.

Qin Mochen came back to himself and flicked the ash lightly into the ashtray with his long fingers.

As if recalling something, the little girl’s smile deepened, her dimples becoming more pronounced. She raised a hand to cover one side of her mouth and whispered conspiratorially,“Uncle, let me tell you—our line of work is really profitable!”

Qin Mochen’s expression remained blank.
“Oh? Then how much did he pay you for this job?”

“Uncle, I see darkness gathering at your forehead—there’s a bloody calamity coming today. Best not to travel far.” Su Keke flashed a grin, showing her neat little white teeth. Qin Mochen promptly turned down the blind-date dinner arranged by his elders. “Uncle, lately your eyes look watery, your complexion is rosy, and the corners of your lips keep lifting unconsciously—someone’s about to have a peach-blossom romance!” Qin Mochen fixed the little girl with a deep, unreadable gaze. Later, with Su Keke riding on his back, she said with a mischievous smile, “Uncle, I’ve done the math—hehe—you’re missing me in your fate.” When Su Keke became Mrs. Qin, the Qin family collectively exploded: That’s her! That shameless man! The one who turned a girl who’d been calling him ‘uncle’ for years into his wife—an old bull eating tender grass, absolutely disgraceful! The utterly shameless Fourth Master Qin, however, promoted his young wife with a straight face: “Fortune-telling, face reading, warding off misfortune, ghost hunting and exorcism, feng shui and dragon-vein locating—Su-brand services. One and only, no branches. Worth having.” Tags: A seemingly harmless, naturally dense little fortune-teller who plays dumb but hides her claws × a outwardly proper, inwardly scheming, abstinent-type uncle.
