Uncle, You’re Missing Me in Your Destiny – CH31

So, What Is It You Want to Do?

Chapter 31: So, What Is It You Want to Do?

When Su Keke heard that he was the one living there, she immediately let out a hehe and said, “Uncle, can we negotiate something?”

Qin Mochen looked at her quietly. The corner of his mouth suddenly lifted, then quickly flattened again; that half-smile vanished in a flash. “What do you want to negotiate?”

As he spoke, he strolled forward at an easy pace, peeled the little octopus clinging to the door off it, and opened the bedroom door.

Su Keke’s little head instantly popped out over his shoulder.

Wow—this was it. Absolutely no mistake. That roughly two-square-meter acupoint core was inside this room!

Su Keke’s eyes sparkled.

Qin Mochen glanced back at her and met those glittering eyes. He found it rather amusing.

“Standing on your tiptoes like that—aren’t you tired? If you want to look, come in.” He shifted aside to let her enter.

Su Keke’s raised heels dropped to the floor at once. She darted inside, ran to the king-size bed in the center of the bedroom, stopped there, and took a deep sniff toward that spot.

Refreshing and invigorating—so comfortable.

Qin Mochen had already guessed it. Smiling, he asked, “This is the acupoint core you were talking about?”

Su Keke nodded like a pecking chicken. “Yes, Uncle! The spot where this bed is placed is the very core of the entire acupoint field!”

Hearing this, the fine smile in Qin Mochen’s eyes deepened. “So, what do you want to do?”

“Well… Uncle, your bedroom is pretty big. Would you consider putting another small bed in here? You sleep on the big bed, I’ll sleep on the small one. Or I could even sleep on this carpet.”

Su Keke pointed to the fluffy, patterned rug in front of the bed.

“Listen, Uncle—who knows when that major calamity in your fate will arrive? I have to stay by your side at all times, especially at night when you’re sleeping, so I can ensure your safety.”

Qin Mochen: Heh.

“No. I don’t like sharing a room with outsiders.” The man rejected her mercilessly.

Su Keke’s little face immediately fell. She pouted unhappily. “I’ve already treated Uncle as one of my own, but Uncle still treats me like an outsider. Is Uncle always this hurtful when he talks?”

“…Girl, that’s not what I mean.”

Su Keke’s lips instantly curved upward. “I knew that wasn’t what Uncle meant. So does that mean Uncle agrees?”

Qin Mochen: “No.”

Su Keke: …

“The guest bedroom is next door. You can stay there. If something really happens here, you’ll hear it quickly.”

Knowing he wouldn’t compromise, Su Keke could only give up.

The next room over was fine too—just one wall apart.

Watching the little girl hop off cheerfully to the neighboring room, Qin Mochen chuckled and shook his head.

Still just a little kid.

Su Keke took a stroll around her own room and found that she quite liked it.

Standing at the doorway, Qin Mochen watched her run back and forth inside, poking around here and peering there. Her chubby little face shifted constantly—frowning one moment, relaxing the next; looking distressed one second, then breaking into a grin the next—her expressions incredibly lively.

“This room is yours now. You can arrange it however you like,” the man said.

Su Keke immediately flashed him a big smile. “Thank you, Uncle!”

Assistant Wu came over carrying Su Keke’s large bags, following the two of them. After waiting for a long time without either of them asking, he had no choice but to interrupt. “Fourth Master, where should Miss Su’s belongings be placed?”

“Oh, right, my treasures—I almost forgot!” Su Keke hurriedly took the bags from him. “Thank you, Assistant Wu. I’ll organize these myself.”

Assistant Wu smiled. “You’re welcome, Miss Su.”

Su Keke’s gaze suddenly landed on his face. After staring at him for two seconds, she grinned and said, “Assistant Wu, judging from your face, you’re about to have some good fortune financially. Congratulations in advance.”

Assistant Wu was startled. “I’ll take Miss Su’s auspicious words.”

Was he really about to come into money?

He’d already witnessed the little cutie’s abilities firsthand—there was a good chance it was true!

As Assistant Wu was wondering how his financial luck would come, he heard Fourth Master suddenly say, “You did well today. Your salary will be increased this month.”

“Thank you, Fourth Master. That’s my duty—no need to be so polite,” Assistant Wu replied calmly.

Inside: It came true so fast—Miss Su really is a master!

After taking back her belongings, Su Keke began rummaging through them. She plopped the big bag on the floor and spread it open, scattering all sorts of odds and ends everywhere.

Listening to the clinking and clattering sounds, Qin Mochen glanced at the little chubby chili’s upturned backside.

Heh.

He lifted his wrist to check the time, eyebrows arching slightly in surprise.

“Girl, it’s mealtime. Let’s go eat first, then tidy up.”

“Cough, cough—cough cough!” Su Keke didn’t know what she was messing with and choked. When she turned back to look at Qin Mochen, her fair little face had already turned into a smudged cat’s face.

Qin Mochen rubbed his forehead.

With a sigh, he said, “Alright. Go take a shower first, then we’ll go eat.”

Originally, they were supposed to stay at Xiangyuan, so the clothes and daily necessities Qin Mochen had prepared for Su Keke were all over there. Still basking in the joy of his raise, Assistant Wu volunteered to go retrieve them.

“No need, Assistant Wu,” Su Keke quickly said. “You’ve been driving all day and must be tired. I brought a change of clothes with me.”

Qin Mochen thought for a moment and nodded. “We’ll get them tomorrow. You’ve worked hard today.”

Assistant Wu was flattered. “Not hard at all, not hard at all!”

After her shower, Su Keke came out wearing her own clean outfit—a white T-shirt and a short skirt printed all over with little rabbits munching on carrots.

Qin Mochen’s gaze fell on the bunny-eating-carrot pattern, then shifted to the girl’s freshly washed, fair little face. For some reason, he felt like laughing.

“Uncle, why are we going out? Aren’t we eating?” Su Keke asked, looking at him.

“I don’t stay here often, so I didn’t hire a housekeeper,” Qin Mochen explained.

Su Keke was puzzled. “Why do you need a housekeeper? It’s just you and me. Uncle could just cook something simple.”

Qin Mochen: “…I can’t cook.”

Su Keke immediately said, “I can! I can make lots of tasty things—steamed bird eggs, roasted corn, roasted sweet potatoes, cold mixed wild vegetables. I can even make noodles. I can do everything except stir-frying!”

Assistant Wu, who had been eavesdropping: Everything except stir-frying? You sure can do a lot.

“Uncle, next time let’s not eat out. It’s such a waste of money. I’ll cook for you.”

Qin Mochen didn’t respond.

“Uncle?”

Qin Mochen: “…Mm. Okay.”

“I know Uncle is rich, but Uncle’s money should be spent on important things. Don’t waste it on little stuff like this. Other than my master, I’ve never cooked for anyone else. Uncle, you’re the first.”

Qin Mochen slowly turned his gaze, landing on that smiling, baby-fat face, and replied mildly, “Is that so? Then it’s my honor.”

“Uncle, I see darkness gathering at your forehead—there’s a bloody calamity coming today. Best not to travel far.” Su Keke flashed a grin, showing her neat little white teeth. Qin Mochen promptly turned down the blind-date dinner arranged by his elders. “Uncle, lately your eyes look watery, your complexion is rosy, and the corners of your lips keep lifting unconsciously—someone’s about to have a peach-blossom romance!” Qin Mochen fixed the little girl with a deep, unreadable gaze. Later, with Su Keke riding on his back, she said with a mischievous smile, “Uncle, I’ve done the math—hehe—you’re missing me in your fate.” When Su Keke became Mrs. Qin, the Qin family collectively exploded: That’s her! That shameless man! The one who turned a girl who’d been calling him ‘uncle’ for years into his wife—an old bull eating tender grass, absolutely disgraceful! The utterly shameless Fourth Master Qin, however, promoted his young wife with a straight face: “Fortune-telling, face reading, warding off misfortune, ghost hunting and exorcism, feng shui and dragon-vein locating—Su-brand services. One and only, no branches. Worth having.” Tags: A seemingly harmless, naturally dense little fortune-teller who plays dumb but hides her claws × a outwardly proper, inwardly scheming, abstinent-type uncle.
