Chapter 2: Hello, Uncle
“…My fourth uncle prefers things quiet. Don’t be too noisy. Once it’s done, I’ll give you a large sum of money,” Qin Junchi promised with a grin.
Hearing this, Su Keke shook her head and said seriously, “You brought me in, I help you dispel your calamity. We’re even.”
With that, she set down her backpack, took out a neatly folded talisman, and handed it to him. “Be careful tonight, especially with traffic safety. It’s best not to go out alone. Keep this talisman close—it can block one disaster for you.”
Qin Junchi caught sight of the contents inside her small black backpack and clicked his tongue in amazement.
This little thing was really getting into the fortune-teller act—her bag was full of yellow talisman paper and all sorts of strange items.
Seeing how earnestly she was playing her role, Qin Junchi casually stuffed the talisman into his pocket.
When they reached the tenth floor, Su Keke’s gaze fell on the suite door, and her eyes lit up slightly.
Wow—she’d really lucked out. It was right here!
“Well, this is the guest inside. If you can, hehe, manage to stay here overnight, you’ll be set for life. Do your best—I’m off!”
Qin Junchi gave her a push toward the door and bolted away in a flash.
At the doorway, Su Keke pasted a talisman on each side of the doorframe, then quickly drew some sort of pattern on the door with her index finger, all in one smooth motion.
Then she knocked.
She waited outside for a long time.
Finally, the door opened.
A tall, handsome man appeared before her, instantly stealing Su Keke’s breath.
The man’s upper body was bare—firm and well-defined. Beads of water rolled down his healthy bronze skin, tracing the perfectly sculpted eight-pack before disappearing beneath the towel wrapped around his waist.
The towel hung loosely, revealing the sexy V-lines at his hips.
Below it, his legs were long and straight.
He was very tall—probably close to 1.9 meters.
His face was strikingly handsome as well. Su Keke had never seen a man this good-looking: sharp brows, hawk-like eyes, a straight nose, thin lips, and deep, captivating eyes. Standing this close, she could even see a faint highlight on the bridge of his nose.
He looked under thirty—a young uncle, indeed.
Only, at the moment, the way this uncle was looking at her was a bit fierce. His brows were sharp, eagle eyes shooting out cold light, and beneath his straight nose, his thin lips were pressed into a tight line.
He was clearly in the middle of a shower—his short hair had been hastily wiped dry, messy and tousled, with droplets still clinging to the tips.
“So you’re the ‘surprise’ Qin Junchi mentioned?” the man said, frowning slightly. His deep voice carried a trace of anger.
Su Keke wasn’t frightened by his fierce demeanor. Instead, she explained politely, “Hello, Uncle. Young Master Qin helped me with something, so I agreed to help him in return—to please you.”
The moment Qin Mochen heard the words “please you,” his already furrowed brows knit tightly together.
He looked her over. More accurately, she should be called a girl.
A pink T-shirt with a white bunny printed on it, a white knee-length skirt cinched at the waist, small white sneakers—clearly worn from who-knows-where, with mud on the soles and toes.
Her hair was tied up in a bun, her youthful little face still carrying a hint of baby fat. A pair of jet-black eyes sparkled brightly, as if stars were hidden inside them. A dainty nose, small mouth, pink and glossy like jelly.
Su Keke stood straight at the door. When she noticed him examining her, she gave him a small smile—and two adorable dimples appeared on her cheeks.
Clean as a blank sheet of paper. Soft and sweet like a little bunny.
Qin Mochen narrowed his eyes slightly.
That brat’s nerve was getting bigger and bigger—daring to find a woman for him, and a… child at that.
“Uncle, I originally planned to just please you at the door and not go inside, but something unexpected came up. Can I go in—”
Before she could finish the last word, the door slammed shut with a bang right in front of her.
