Uncle, You’re Missing Me in Your Destiny – CH13

Rich—and Willful

Chapter 13: Rich—and Willful

Large stretches of peach trees lined both sides of the road. By late May, the trees had already begun to bear small fruits. As far as the eye could see, everything was lush and green. Though it lacked the bustling, rosy splendor of peach blossoms in early spring, the scenery was still quite pleasing.

Going farther ahead, scattered two-story houses began to appear along the road, gradually becoming more and more concentrated.

Rows of small red-tiled two-story homes stood neatly together, looking not the least bit inferior to the villas in the capital where every inch of land was worth a fortune.

“Fourth Master, this Peach Blossom Village actually looks pretty decent,” Assistant Wu said as he drove, seeing Qin Mochen observing the village as if assessing it.

Qin Mochen gave a low hum. “This area belongs to the Peach Blossom Spring Scenic Zone. Naturally, it won’t be bad. There are lots of villagers around—be careful.”

Assistant Wu acknowledged and slowed the car down.

The off-road vehicle entering the village drew a great deal of attention. Villagers whispered among themselves, pointing at the car, while a group of mischievous children even chased after it, laughing and playing.

Assistant Wu was terrified inside. Fourth Master’s off-road vehicle was outrageously expensive—he really hoped those little brats wouldn’t accidentally leave a scratch on it.

Once there were fewer people around, Assistant Wu hurriedly sped up.

After going a bit deeper into the village, the asphalt road suddenly ended at one point, turning into a dirt road. At first, the dirt road was still relatively flat, but soon it became uneven, causing the massive off-road vehicle to sway along with it.

“Fourth Master, I take back what I said earlier,” Assistant Wu said, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

Not only had the asphalt road turned into a dirt path, the houses along the sides had also changed into low, single-story homes. Just from the village entrance to the village end, the contrast was already this stark.

Qin Mochen seemed to think of something and calmly instructed, “Old Wu, later have someone arrange to fix this road.”

Assistant Wu: “……”

With just one sentence, several million were gone.

Sir, having money doesn’t mean you have to spend it like this. You’re really willful!

At the very end of the village, there were two paths ahead. Unsure which one to take, Assistant Wu rolled down the window, stuck his head out, and asked a villager for directions.

“Ma’am, may I ask—which road leads to Peach Blossom Mountain?”

As soon as the woman heard that, she quickly said, “You’re going to Peach Blossom Mountain to look for Master Su, right? Take the road on the right. But your car probably can’t get in—the road’s too narrow and you’ll crush the crops.”

“Thank you, ma’am. Don’t worry—we won’t drive the car in.”

Assistant Wu took the two prepared mountain bikes out of the trunk. Without wasting words, he wiped them down.

Qin Mochen got out of the car shortly after.

In an instant, the man—dressed in a low-key yet luxurious black sports outfit—became the center of attention. The two white stripes along the sides of his track pants were pulled straight by his long legs, making them look towering and blade-straight.

He wore an unassuming pair of light-brown sunglasses, softening what would otherwise have been a sharp gaze. A few strands of hair were loosened by the breeze from his swept-back hairstyle, reducing some of his sternness and lending a gentler air to his handsome yet cold features.

“Fourth Master, the road ahead is uneven. Please be careful,” Assistant Wu said. He never questioned his boss’s decisions, but he would offer a reminder when appropriate.

“Mhm. Let’s go.”

With a long stride, Qin Mochen swung a leg over the specially adjusted, raised seat of the mountain bike. One foot pressed on the pedal, the other leg straightened, toe touching the ground.

Those legs were long—straight and beautifully shaped. Hidden beneath the black sports pants, one could only imagine the power they contained.

Sure enough, with just a light push, the mountain bike shot forward in the blink of an eye. His body leaned slightly down, and the whole man surged ahead like a leopard poised to strike, charging straight out.

“Uncle, I see darkness gathering at your forehead—there’s a bloody calamity coming today. Best not to travel far.” Su Keke flashed a grin, showing her neat little white teeth. Qin Mochen promptly turned down the blind-date dinner arranged by his elders. “Uncle, lately your eyes look watery, your complexion is rosy, and the corners of your lips keep lifting unconsciously—someone’s about to have a peach-blossom romance!” Qin Mochen fixed the little girl with a deep, unreadable gaze. Later, with Su Keke riding on his back, she said with a mischievous smile, “Uncle, I’ve done the math—hehe—you’re missing me in your fate.” When Su Keke became Mrs. Qin, the Qin family collectively exploded: That’s her! That shameless man! The one who turned a girl who’d been calling him ‘uncle’ for years into his wife—an old bull eating tender grass, absolutely disgraceful! The utterly shameless Fourth Master Qin, however, promoted his young wife with a straight face: “Fortune-telling, face reading, warding off misfortune, ghost hunting and exorcism, feng shui and dragon-vein locating—Su-brand services. One and only, no branches. Worth having.” Tags: A seemingly harmless, naturally dense little fortune-teller who plays dumb but hides her claws × a outwardly proper, inwardly scheming, abstinent-type uncle.
