Chapter 74: Where’s My Food?!
“Then, before I die, can you at least let me have one last full meal? My biggest dream is to eat my fill,” Chi Qian said sincerely.
The boss burst out laughing. “Chi Lisen’s granddaughter can’t even eat her fill? That’s hilarious! Fine, I’ll grant you one big meal today!”
They locked her in a room. Convinced she couldn’t escape, they didn’t even bother tying her up.
The skinny one came in with food, telling her, “Say whatever you want to eat. Could be your last meal—poor girl.”
“I want…” Chi Qian rattled off a long list of dishes.
The skinny one listened, then went out to buy it.
He came back.
Then went out again.
The Skinny One…
The skinny one went to the kidnappers’ boss, saying the funds weren’t enough.
Barely ten minutes later, he came back again, saying the money was already gone.
Not even twenty minutes later, he returned once more…
The kidnapper boss finally lost his patience, “My private stash is almost drained by you! What the hell are you buying that costs so much?!”
Skinny One: “Boss, the girl said that little bit wasn’t enough, she’s still hungry, so I went to get her food.”
“You bought her shark fin and bird’s nest soup?!”
“Nope, just some regular meals and snacks.”
“Then she’s a rice bucket! She’s eaten through ten thousand already and still dares to complain she’s hungry?!” The boss’s eyes almost popped out of his head. “I’m broke! Tell her to just eat me instead!”
Skinny One: “But… but she keeps saying she’s hungry. You can’t starve a child, boss.”
The kidnapper boss: “…”
“At this point, there’s no other way.”
“What do you mean?”
“Dump her. We withdraw.” The boss finally decided, gritting his teeth. “If we let her keep eating like this, not only will the mission fail, we’ll go bankrupt!”
What kind of hostage eats like this?!
Is she the reincarnation of a starving ghost?!
Outside, Chi Qian’s voice rang out, “Brother Skinny, I finished my spicy chicken wings. I want another ten buckets, and twenty egg tarts too. Thanks!”
The boss: “…”
He swore he could hear his wallet bleeding.
To avoid being noticed by Chi Qian, the group of kidnappers secretly began retreating (?). They carried their stuff and fled overnight.
When Chi Qian realized her delivery was taking way too long…
A loud whistle echoed through the villa.
The windows shattered.
The doors burst open.
A dozen wild dogs poured in, rushing straight up to the second floor.
“Woof woof!” The dog boss swaggered inside, proudly walking to Chi Qian’s side.
The other dogs glared at him with jealousy.
Chi Qian stuffed the last bite of her egg tart into her mouth and patted the dog boss’s head. “Right on time.”
“Woof woof woof!” The dog boss stuck out its tongue, obedient like a husky.
Then it crouched down, signaling: Get on, I’ll carry you!
The other dogs crowded over: “Woof woof woof!”
Boss, you’re not being fair! Why do you get all the good things?! We want a turn too!
But the boss shoved them all away with his butt, refusing to let anyone near Chi Qian.
One had to admit—dogs got jealous pretty easily too.
Chi Qian climbed onto the dog boss’s back. “Chase them!”
“Woof woof!”
The pack of dogs howled as they burst out of the villa, following the kidnappers’ scent.
In less than ten minutes, they spotted the kidnappers’ vehicle on the highway.
“B-boss, there are dogs chasing us!”
“What’s there to fear from one dog?”
“Not one! A dozen of them!”
“What did you say?!”
The boss turned his head, and his eyeballs nearly fell out.
The rice bucket they had just abandoned was riding the lead dog, chasing them from not too far away.
Cold sweat drenched his back. “What the hell is this girl?!”
“Hey! Hey!” Chi Qian’s voice called from outside. “People in the car, listen up, listen up!”
“Didn’t you promise to let me eat as much as I wanted? Didn’t you say you’d give me one proper full meal?”
“Where’s my food?! Where’s my food?!”
“Don’t think you can just ditch me that easily!”
The kidnapper boss cracked, “Does this girl have a screw loose? Ten thousand wasn’t enough to feed her?!”
The other kidnappers: “Who the hell grabbed her in the first place?! This is deliberate sabotage, trying to bankrupt us from within! Their motives are vicious!”
Skinny One trembled and kept silent.
The boss, unable to stand it anymore, rolled down the window and yelled, “Stop chasing us! We don’t have that much food for you! Go home and eat your own meals!”
Chi Qian: “Words must be kept. You promised to feed me full—you can’t quit halfway!”
“Little sis—no, big sis! I’ll call you big sis, okay? Please, just find someone else! We swear we’ll never kidnap you again!”
“But I’m still not full.”
The boss’s mentality collapsed completely, “Big sis! Do you know how hard it is for me to make money?! If I feed you until you’re full, how many cents will I have left? I can’t afford this!”
He had dreams—but he also needed money!
This girl was the devil, wasn’t she?!
“You liars! You deceived my feelings!” Chi Qian puffed her cheeks in anger. “Paw Patrol, attack!”
“Woof woof!”
The dogs charged forward, smashing through the car windows. Screams erupted inside.
The vehicle screeched to a halt. The kidnappers were all dragged out by the dogs, carried by their collars, and tossed to the ground.
On this stretch of road, passing cars slowed down to watch. Some even took out their phones to film.
“Huh? That girl riding the dog looks a lot like Chi Qian!”
“No way, how could Chi Qian show up in a place like this?”
“What’s going on with these people?”
The bystanders gossiped loudly.
Chi Qian used the kidnappers’ phone to call the police, then rang up her third uncle.
Seeing an unknown number, Chi Fengxiao’s heart clenched. He immediately said, “Don’t hurt her! Whatever money you want, I’ll give you!”
It had only been two hours, but he was already close to breaking down.
Just the thought of Chi Qian being harmed made his heart go numb.
Then Chi Qian’s voice came through, “Uncle, it’s me. I’m on XX highway. Can you come pick me up?”
Chi Fengxiao: “Stay right where you are! Uncle will be there immediately!”
Half an hour later, Chi Fengxiao and the police arrived one after another.
“Little Treasure!” Chi Fengxiao sprinted over in long strides and scooped Chi Qian into his arms.
“Are you hurt? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?”
Chi Qian was suddenly squeezed tight in his arms, and immediately let out a long, lingering burp.
“Ow—Uncle, loosen up, I’m stuffed already.”
“…Huh?”
The police had already cuffed all the kidnappers. “You lot are bold, daring to kidnap Mr. Chi’s granddaughter.”
The ringleader burst into tears: “Officer, I want to report this little brat—she scammed me out of more than ten thousand yuan!”
Police: ?
“What did you just say??”
The ringleader poured out his grievances, telling the whole story of how in just two hours Chi Qian had eaten more than ten thousand yuan worth of food, still wasn’t satisfied, and even chased after them on a dog, demanding they feed her until she was full.
“We ran off and left her behind, and she still came chasing after us, just wouldn’t let us go!”
“Officer, tell me, if that isn’t fraud and robbery, then what is it??”
He’d been a villain for so many years, but he had never suffered this kind of humiliation!
