Chapter 280: Training
Lu Jingyao’s company had just moved into a new office building, which was not far from Tang Chen Yipin.
When Xu Youyou arrived, the entire floor was brightly lit.
“So many people are working overtime with him?” Xu Youyou asked.
Assistant Liu nodded and said, “Miss Xu, if it weren’t for Mr. Lu being worried that he couldn’t trust others to pick you up, I should also be working overtime with him right now.”
Xu Youyou furrowed her brow. “Are your employees willing to do that?”
Assistant Liu helplessly said, “Who would go against money? Mr. Lu seems to be preparing for something big. The usual overtime pay is three times the normal salary, but Mr. Lu directly pays five times the overtime pay. Now, every employee is working like they’ve been given a boost of energy.”
Xu Youyou didn’t think that Assistant Liu, as Lu Jingyao’s most trusted assistant, wouldn’t know what big event Lu Jingyao was preparing. Since he didn’t explain it clearly, she didn’t ask further, fearing it might involve business secrets and cause awkwardness.
Lu Jingyao’s office was on the top floor. When Xu Youyou arrived, he was on the phone with someone.
Xu Youyou entered with Assistant Liu, and as soon as Lu Jingyao saw her, his face lit up. He then apologized and pointed at his phone.
Assistant Liu thoughtfully brought a cup of water to Xu Youyou.
Xu Youyou took a sip. The water was at fifty degrees Celsius, with no tea leaves—exactly how she preferred it. The snacks on the table were also all to her liking.
Lu Jingyao finished his phone call after another five minutes, then immediately asked, “Was your trip smooth?”
Xu Youyou didn’t want to mention the danger she had encountered in Pattaya, so she just said, “The flight went smoothly. They had warned of a possible storm, but it turned out to be a misjudgment by the airline.”
Lu Jingyao let out a sigh of relief and then asked, “You’ve just returned from abroad. Why didn’t you rest first?”
Xu Youyou looked at him and said, “I haven’t seen you for many days. I wanted to see you.”
Lu Jingyao’s lips curved upward uncontrollably as he took her hand and said, “I was planning to come see you after things calmed down, but you came back first. Don’t worry, at most in half a month, I’ll have some time to rest. When that happens, I’ll go wherever you want.”
Xu Youyou tilted her head, observing Lu Jingyao. “You really do seem very busy. You’ve lost a few pounds.”
Lu Jingyao awkwardly touched his nose, trying to explain, “I haven’t lost that much weight. I think it’s just that my appetite hasn’t been great recently…”
Xu Youyou’s face darkened slightly. “Is it because you’ve been working too much?”

A moment later, Xu Fang walked in carrying a thermal box.
“I ordered some supper. Stay with me to finish it, and then I’ll go back to rest,” Xu Youyou said.
Lu Jingyao hadn’t seen Xu Youyou in over ten days, and he truly missed her. Looking at the array of snacks on the table, with several dishes that he loved, his heart warmed.
“No matter how busy you are, you need to eat properly,” Xu Youyou casually said.
When Lu Jingyao gets busy, he tends to ignore everything, and the last meal he had was lunch—he hadn’t eaten dinner yet.
After they enjoyed their supper together, Xu Youyou didn’t insist on staying. Seeing that Lu Jingyao was tired and worn out, but still seemed to be in a manageable condition, she left.

The system interface flickered for a moment.
