Rich Family Reunion? But I’m Already a Billionaire! – CH267

Trust Her

Chapter 267: Trust Her

The agent shrank his neck and said, “General, our people checked several times. They really only had twenty bodyguards… who knew where all these extra people came from?”

The man addressed as “General” had a cold expression as he said, “You also didn’t mention they had firearms.”

The agent hurried to explain, “Guns are strictly banned in Huaxia. I really don’t know where they got so many weapons, General, I swear I didn’t hide anything!”

Just as the agent finished speaking, the General kicked him hard.

“Useless trash!” the General cursed.

Even though the agent felt intense pain in his chest, he didn’t dare utter a word of protest.

Meanwhile, a man by the bus frowned and said, “General, whether you can take down that woman or not, first have someone move the rocks. We must move the goods out today.”

The General snorted coldly, saying, “Why are you in such a rush?”

The man transporting goods frowned slightly. They had dealt with these people many times. If it weren’t for the powerful figures backing them, they would have already been devoured by these ruthless warlords.

If they hadn’t known about the plan in advance, they wouldn’t have dared to get involved at all.

Now that the plan had failed, the transporter’s eyelids twitched as he said, “The Dragon King urgently needs this shipment. If he’s displeased, you won’t be able to bear his anger either.”

Hearing this, the General’s face darkened, but he still said coldly, “Relax. It’s just a little sparrow we need to handle. It won’t delay your business.”

The transporter cursed the General bitterly in his heart for being so greedy. Even though Xu Youyou had already promised them five times the reward, these men acted like complete bandits.

After all, they had done some digging: Xu Youyou might be Lu Jingyao’s girlfriend, but she wasn’t his fiancée or wife. More importantly, Xu Youyou was an orphan. Someone like her, carrying so much wealth — once they captured her, her fortune would practically be theirs. Why care about the promised reward?

But they had underestimated Xu Youyou — not realizing that she had prepared multiple contingency plans, nor that the bodyguards she brought were incredibly capable.

The twenty bodyguards were almost all veterans. Even if not every one of them had battlefield experience, they were all extremely efficient and highly trained with firearms. Their teamwork was even better than the so-called regular army here.

Even Xu Youyou herself was trained in martial arts. She moved swiftly and nimbly. Thanks to her bulletproof vest, she didn’t even get a scratch.

The local gang Xu Youyou had hired to assist also didn’t drag her down at all.

After the initial chaos, Xu Youyou’s side gradually gained the upper hand, even managing to counterattack.

Both the General and the transporter’s faces turned ugly.

“General, I don’t care anymore. I need my men to fall back and move the rocks now…” the transporter urged.

The General said coldly, “You think you can still run?”

The moment he finished speaking, a commotion broke out by the bus.

Originally, eight armed guards were watching over the bus. Six had gone down to help, leaving only two guarding forty people.

The people from Huaxia had never been cowards. They had been tricked into boarding the bus, but now they realized the horrible fate awaiting them.

Now that fighting had broken out outside, even though they didn’t know why, it was the perfect chance to escape.

Among the forty captives, a few exchanged glances, instantly reaching an understanding. They quickly overpowered the two guards and seized their guns.

Meanwhile, the battle on Xu Youyou’s side was already winding down. The armed forces here were far weaker than she had expected.

They claimed to be a “military” force, yet couldn’t even defeat her group of retired soldiers. Xu Youyou even regretted not doing this sooner.

The fight happened in a remote area, so few dared approach despite the gunshots. After the rebellion, it took less than thirty minutes for Xu Youyou’s team to fully control the situation.

The so-called General had already fled with his closest aides the moment he realized things had gone wrong.

Only the agent was left behind, trembling with fear. “Ms. Xu, this has nothing to do with me, I didn’t want this to happen either…”

Xu Youyou gave a cold look and signaled to a bodyguard, who immediately pointed his gun at the agent’s head.

The agent’s legs gave out, and a suspicious liquid spread beneath him.

Xu Youyou looked at him with disgust. “Why did you betray me?”

The agent froze, then said after a moment, “Our General somehow got news that you’re extremely wealthy, with hundreds of billions in your account… He thought that capturing you would let him get his hands on that fortune.”

Hearing his explanation, Xu Youyou almost laughed from anger, but soon she sensed something was wrong.

“My money in Huaxia… you think it’s that easy to transfer out?”

The agent glanced around evasively.

Seeing him hesitate, Xu Youyou directly ordered her bodyguard, “Shoot him.”

Gunfire rang out.

The agent screamed in pain — the shot wasn’t fatal but hit his right hand.

Kneeling on the ground, clutching his bloodied hand, the agent howled miserably.

Xu Youyou wasn’t a violent person, but after being repeatedly ambushed by gunfire, she couldn’t help but get furious.

Did they all think she was easy to bully? One after another, they all thought they could scheme for her money?

“Can you talk now?” Xu Youyou said icily.

Seeing the gun pointed at him again, the agent no longer dared to hide anything and quickly said, “There are people! People from your country who are helping! They charge a service fee, but the General could still get at least half!”

Xu Youyou asked, “What people? How are they helping?”

The agent shook his head. “I don’t know…”

As soon as he spoke, he got shot again, this time in the left hand.

But even then, he didn’t change his answer. Instead, he cried out in pain, “I really don’t know! Only the General can contact that person! Maybe the people on the bus know!”

Both his hands wounded, he desperately pointed toward the bus with his head.

The leader originally on the bus had fled almost at the same time as the General. The bus remained locked, but inside, apart from the captives, there were only two guards.

One of Xu Youyou’s bodyguards found a hammer somewhere and smashed the bus lock open.

“Don’t worry. I’m here to save you,” Xu Youyou said.

She thought it would take a lot of effort to convince these wary fellow countrymen in a foreign land.

But unexpectedly, someone inside shouted excitedly, “It’s Xu Youyou! I know her! She’s Song Zhibai’s boss — we can trust her!”
