Rich Family Reunion? But I’m Already a Billionaire! – CH266

Betrayal

Chapter 266: Betrayal

Xu Youyou not only immediately checked out of the hotel, but also refused to touch the delicious-looking food that had been delivered. She didn’t even let her bodyguards taste it.

“Boss, the new hotel has been arranged. We can head there directly to check in,” Xu Fang, who always executed Xu Youyou’s orders the fastest, reported.

Xu Youyou had been tense the entire time. It wasn’t until she checked into the new hotel and completed a thorough inspection of the room that she finally relaxed.

Meanwhile, back at the previous hotel, in one of the third-floor guest rooms, a man narrowed his eyes at the fragile, beautiful young woman in front of him. “What did you do? Why did she leave in such a hurry?”

The young woman shook her head gently. “I just delivered room service as usual. I didn’t do anything extra…”

“Useless thing!”

The girl trembled violently at his words, terrified. “Should I go try again?”

But the man’s cold gaze silenced her immediately.

He muttered under his breath, “Men don’t work, women don’t work either. This is really troublesome.”

When Xu Youyou checked into the new hotel, she had already given prior instructions — no housekeeping, no room service, and even cleaning would be handled by themselves. She asked that no cleaning staff come near the floor her group had booked.

The hotel readily agreed. However, less than half an hour after Xu Youyou checked in, another group of people arrived, insisting on staying on the same floor.

After the hotel informed them that the floor was already fully booked, they reluctantly settled for the floor below.

Unaware that unexpected guests had arrived, Xu Youyou anxiously awaited news from her agent.

At six o’clock the next morning, Xu Fang gently woke her up.

“Boss, news just came in — it seems they’re shifting their target,” Xu Fang said in a low voice.

Had Xu Youyou not repeatedly emphasized the urgency, Xu Fang would never have dared disturb her so early.

Xu Youyou was irritated for a second after being woken but quickly calmed herself. “I’ll get up now. Give me five minutes.”

Knowing time was tight, Xu Youyou hurriedly changed clothes, put on a bulletproof vest she had brought from home, rinsed her mouth with mouthwash, and wiped her face with a wet wipe, considering it done.

Xu Fang drove steadily as usual. Their group of over twenty people was split into six cars, moving smoothly through the unusually quiet streets of Bangkok.

“I wonder if these people are reliable,” Xu Youyou thought to herself.

The phone used for translations kept chiming with notifications. The translator relayed real-time updates from the agent, and the bodyguard who had contacted the local gang kept calling his contacts.

After about half an hour of driving, they finally reached the target location.

The area was far from Bangkok’s bustling center, looking rundown and desolate — more like an unknown rural village than a famous international tourist city.

“Boss, the agent said the target will pass by that road up ahead in about five minutes,” the translator said.

Although Xu Youyou had twenty bodyguards, they were mainly for her protection, and she had no intention of personally taking risks. They quickly found a place to hide the cars and moved to a nearby high point.

From there, they had a clear view of the road the target would have to pass. The road was narrow, only about three or four meters wide — even two cars passing by each other could risk a collision.

The agent’s prediction was spot-on. Less than five minutes later, a bus appeared in the distance.

The bus looked old and worn down, with Chinese writing on it saying “XX Tour Group.” Anyone unaware would have thought it was just a group of Chinese tourists.

Xu Fang handed Xu Youyou a small telescope.

Xu Youyou gave her an approving look and peered through it. Through the dirty bus windows, she clearly saw several Chinese faces — all looking haggard and desperate.

She also noticed a few people inside the bus holding rifles, standing in the aisle and watching warily.

Her heart sank. No wonder no one dared to jump out of the windows — there were armed guards inside.

The bus quickly came to a halt. Just like Xu Youyou’s previous encounters abroad, they created a fake accident in the middle of the road to stop vehicles.

This time, it was a large boulder that had “fallen” onto the road.

Xu Youyou couldn’t help but think, “They really went to the trouble of moving a giant boulder here overnight.”

But the bus didn’t stop immediately. The driver was highly alert — upon seeing the boulder, he didn’t even bother to get out and check. He immediately started reversing.

However, he had barely backed up fifty meters when suddenly more armed men, faces covered, appeared at the end of the road.

After stopping for about three minutes, a man carrying a rifle got off the bus.

Some people from the other side also stepped out.

Although Xu Youyou was far away and could see them negotiating, she couldn’t read lips and had no idea what they were discussing.

The negotiation lasted about ten minutes before suddenly, a shot rang out — sharp and chilling in the early morning quiet.

“Boss, please move behind us in case they notice us…” a bodyguard said.

Xu Youyou didn’t move. Although she heard the gunshot, she didn’t see anyone get hurt. She wasn’t hoping for bloodshed, but she was puzzled.

The next second, both groups suddenly turned their guns toward Xu Youyou’s position and started firing.

Xu Youyou: !!!

She had just been feeling grateful for the cover around her when, to her shock, seven or eight more rifle-wielding men appeared behind her.

“Boss! They’re not keeping their word! I’ll drive you out of here!” Xu Fang shouted.

Despite her fear, Xu Fang grabbed Xu Youyou and started running toward the car.

Xu Youyou ran while silently thanking herself that everyone was wearing bulletproof vests.

They also had guns, so they fought back while retreating.

The attackers seemed surprised that Xu Youyou’s group was armed.

Even more unexpected was a sudden ambush — a group of masked gang members jumped out from nearby, helping Xu Youyou’s team suppress the enemy fire.

Xu Youyou hadn’t thought she would end up using both her backup plans. If she had really trusted the agent’s lies, she would probably already be sitting on that bus.

The agent, trembling in fear, was being scolded by his superior. “You told me they only had twenty bodyguards! Where the hell did all these helpers come from?”
