With a loud “smack,” half of the snake’s head landed squarely on Taotie’s skull. His eyes rolled back, and he collapsed straight onto the ground, pinned beneath the massive serpent’s remains.
The blood-soaked half of the snake’s head looked like a burial mound, with Taotie buried inside like a stuffed bun.
A long while later, as the bloody mist in the air dispersed, Fang Xiaocao cautiously emerged from behind a stalactite. Surveying the carnage left by the explosion, she panicked and hurriedly ran across the field of gore, desperately searching for her three subordinates.

She reached the mound of flesh, ignoring the nauseating stench of snake blood and meat. Hands and feet working together, she clawed at the flesh, quickly revealing a woman’s head beneath the mess.

It was Hummingbird.
“It’s over…”
Her face was filled with despair.
