Chapter 251: Breaking Through the Serpent Horde
The giant snake shook its massive head, its eyes somewhat unfocused. It was clear that the impact had been too severe, and it was feeling disoriented, with a large patch of its forehead scales shattered.
It looked rather pathetic.
Taotie was squeezed into a crevice in the rock, afraid to move an inch.
It was terrifying!
To be trapped in a crevice, unable to even turn around, with such a behemoth blocking the way, was not a pleasant experience. It was shockingly frightening…
Seeing the giant snake still shaking its head, dazed from the impact, Taotie breathed a sigh of relief. He was safe for the moment.

Protected by Hummingbird and Tom, Fang Xiaocao hadn’t been injured, but she was a mess.
Hummingbird and Tom, focusing on both fighting and protecting Fang Xiaocao, were in a much worse state, covered in bite marks all over their arms and legs.
Their wounds varied in depth.
Some were just scratches, red and swollen.
Others were bleeding, with chunks of flesh torn off.
The sight was gruesome.
Thankfully, there were no venomous snakes on this mountain.
Otherwise, with all the bite marks on their bodies, even an elephant would have been dead.
Fang Xiaocao glanced at her communicator, wanting to see what Taotie had sent.
If Taotie was alright, they could have him come and provide backup.
But when she saw the picture, Fang Xiaocao was shocked.
The photo of the giant snake was terrifying.
And then she saw Taotie’s cry for help.
Fang Xiaocao’s heart sank.
“Great, she was hoping Taotie could save them.”
“Now it turns out…”
“Taotie is waiting for them to rescue him…”
Fang Xiaocao shook her head helplessly.
She gave a bitter laugh to herself.
“We have to break through as soon as possible.”
Fang Xiaocao muttered to herself.
Taking a deep breath, she flicked a steel dart, pinning a snake that was trying to ambush her to the ground.
She shouted, “Tom, we can’t keep fighting here!”
“We have to break through!”
“Taotie’s in trouble too, he’s facing something big.”
Fang Xiaocao drew her gun.
She held steel darts in her other hand.
She was ready to fight her way out.
Hearing Fang Xiaocao’s shout, Tom and Hummingbird exchanged a glance and nodded.
“We’ll break through forward and find Taotie.”
“Hummingbird, lead the princess out!”
“I’ll cover our backs!”
Tom gave the order.
“Yes, sir!”
Hummingbird replied.
He wielded his katana, the blade flashing as he sliced through the snakes blocking their path.
Fang Xiaocao followed closely, occasionally shooting steel darts to pin down any snakes that tried to ambush Hummingbird.
Hummingbird pushed forward, with Fang Xiaocao right behind him.
Tom stayed behind, blocking the pursuing snakes.
The entire process was extremely dangerous.
Fang Xiaocao and the others were bitten multiple times, leaving them with painful wounds that brought tears to Fang Xiaocao’s eyes.
Seeing that Hummingbird had led Fang Xiaocao far enough away from the main horde, Tom stopped holding back. He pulled out a few egg-sized “Pokémon ball” bombs from his pocket.
With a grimace, Tom activated the bombs.
He threw them into the thick of the serpent horde.
“Boom, boom, boom…”
A series of explosions erupted from the snakes.
In an instant, flesh and blood flew everywhere.
Countless pieces of snake carcasses were sent flying.
Tom was thrown back by the shockwave, slamming into the rock wall.
Tom’s chest tightened, and he tasted blood in his throat.
He coughed up a mouthful of blood.
Leaning against the wall, Tom felt like his body was falling apart. He could barely move a finger, and his vision was blurry.
“Cough, cough…”
Tom coughed up a few more mouthfuls of blood.
He shook his head and gave a bitter smile.
The impact had been severe.
His internal organs felt like they had shifted.
The shockwave felt like being hit by a car.
However, Tom had been successful.
The bombs had decimated the dense horde, killing a large number of snakes.
The rest were stunned by the shockwave, lying on their backs.
Tom took a few deep breaths against the wall, trying to recover. He pushed himself up and tested his limbs. Once he was sure he was okay, he let out a sigh of relief.
“Damn…”
“That hurt like hell…”
Tom rubbed his lower back and muttered to himself.
He looked around. Aside from a few dozen snakes following Fang Xiaocao and Hummingbird’s trail, hundreds of snakes were lying at his feet.
“Heh…”
Tom smirked and pulled out the materials for making firebombs from his backpack. He quickly assembled a few and poured gasoline on the ground.
With his backpack on, Tom threw the firebombs into the densest part of the snakes.
He hurried after Fang Xiaocao and Hummingbird.
A real man never looks back.
Behind him, the firebombs exploded, and the flames spread rapidly, engulfing hundreds of snakes. The entire tunnel was filled with the smell of roasted snake.
