Chapter 243: Han Xue, We Meet Again
With Tom disarming Han Xue, Hummingbird swiftly stepped forward, pressing her katana against Han Xue’s slender neck.
“Stay still!” Hummingbird hissed.
She had suffered enough under Han Xue’s gunfire earlier and was itching to slit her throat right then and there. But Tom seemed intent on capturing Han Xue alive—otherwise, those two shots would have been fatal.
Han Xue shuddered as the cold steel touched her skin.
She knew she was done for.
The gun-wielding man and the blade-wielding woman before her were not to be trifled with. Unarmed, she stood no chance against either of them.
“Miss Han Xue?”
“We meet again!”
Tom grinned.
Han Xue’s eyes widened in recognition.
This foreigner—she’d seen him before!
“It’s you!” she gasped.
Tom shrugged. “Indeed.”
“Why are you kidnapping me?” Han Xue demanded, batting her eyelashes in a practiced, seductive manner.
Beauty was her greatest weapon—one that had saved her countless times and even secured her position in Nemesis.
If she could charm Tom into submission, not only would she survive today, but with his strength backing her, she could even gain influence within Nemesis.
But Tom wasn’t biting.
He watched her antics with cold amusement, as if observing a clown.
Hummingbird, disgusted by Han Xue’s act, flicked her wrist—
“Ahh!”
The flat of the blade struck Han Xue’s cheek, leaving a red mark.
“Behave,” Hummingbird snapped.
Han Xue’s face swelled instantly.
Trembling, she stopped moving but cast a pitiful glance at Tom, silently pleading for mercy.
Tom responded with a mocking smirk.
“Kill her?” Hummingbird asked, though she already knew the answer.
“Not yet.”
“Wait for the Princess.”
Hummingbird nodded, not daring to question further.
Disobeying Tom might earn her a beating, but defying Fang Xiaocao?
That could get her killed.
Han Xue frowned.
“Princess?”
“When did I offend someone of that status?”
She had no idea that the so-called “Princess” was none other than Fang Xiaocao—the woman she loathed most.
Tom, enjoying her confusion, said nothing, eager to see her reaction when the truth dawned.
_______
Taotie carried Fang Xiaocao down from the tree, heading toward Han Xue.
At the sight of her, Fang Xiaocao’s eyes burned with fury, steel nails clenched tightly in her hands.
This time, she would take revenge herself.
“You?!” Han Xue gasped.
“Heh~”
Fang Xiaocao’s smile was icy.
“Han Xue, long time no see.”
“What do you want?” Han Xue sneered, still convinced Fang Xiaocao wouldn’t dare harm her.
In her mind, Fang Xiaocao was still the pushover she’d always known—too soft to even kill a chicken, let alone a person.
“Let me go now, and I might forgive you,” Han Xue said haughtily, as if she held the upper hand.
Before Fang Xiaocao could respond—
“Smack!”
Hummingbird’s blade struck Han Xue’s face again.
Tom and Taotie glared murderously. Had Hummingbird not acted first, they would’ve done worse.
“Bitch! How dare you let her hit me!” Han Xue shrieked. “Release me now!”
Fang Xiaocao rolled her eyes.
“Is she delusional?”
“Did I really seem that weak before?”
“Who gave her the audacity?”
“Was it Teresa Teng?”
“Han Xue, are you brain-damaged?” Fang Xiaocao asked slowly. “Do you not grasp your situation?”
“You—”
“Me what?”
Fang Xiaocao flicked her wrist.
“Thwip!”
A steel nail embedded itself in Han Xue’s thigh.
“AHH!”
Blood gushed as Han Xue howled, her eyes filled with venom.
“Still glaring?”
Another flick—
“Thwip!”
A second nail pierced her other leg.
Han Xue collapsed, legs trembling and bloodied.
“Understand now?” Fang Xiaocao asked coldly.
“You… how dare you hurt me?!” Han Xue snarled, as if Fang Xiaocao’s actions were some unforgivable sin.
She conveniently forgot her own past atrocities.
That was Han Xue’s nature—
She could torment others freely, but the moment someone retaliated, she played the victim.
“Why wouldn’t I dare?”
Fang Xiaocao smirked and glanced at Hummingbird.
