Chapter 213: Shen Tao’s Hatred
At a private hospital operated by the Blacklist, Taotie was undergoing a medical examination when he heard his phone ring. Taking it out, he glanced at the screen and saw a WeChat message from Fang Xiaocao. With a wave of his hand, he dismissed the medical staff.
“You all leave. I’m exhausted and need rest. Just upload the examination results to the internal system.”
“Yes, sir!”
The doctors and nurses, all trained by the Blacklist specifically to serve its members, swiftly exited the room.
Once alone, Taotie opened his phone and checked the message from Fang Xiaocao.
“Oh?”
“So it’s this woman?”
Looking at the photo of Wan Xiaozhou, Taotie murmured in surprise.
[Taotie: Got it. Leave it to me, Your Highness. Just give me some time!]
He casually skimmed through Wan Xiaozhou’s basic information before forwarding all relevant details.
“This woman is the holder of the treasure map we’re after. Have the intel team dig up everything about her. I want a detailed report, including where she learned her combat skills and why she was following Zhi Qi of the Zhi Group.”
Without waiting for a reply, Taotie ended the call and tossed his phone aside.
“Hiss—”
“Tom really doesn’t hold back…”
Taotie rubbed his chest where the bullets had hit. Though his bulletproof vest absorbed most of the impact, Tom’s two shots still gave him an unintended breast augmentation.
“I have to get my revenge next time!”
Muttering to himself, Taotie closed his eyes, feeling exhausted. He needed to rest—especially before facing that lunatic Capricorn.
Though Capricorn had been seriously wounded by Tom, with the Blacklist’s medical expertise, non-fatal injuries meant little. She might be unable to move freely for a few days, but she’d be back soon enough.
At the Mansion
After receiving Taotie’s reply, Fang Xiaocao put away her phone and went upstairs. From a woven bag Taotie had brought, she pulled out a pair of handcuffs and ankle shackles before returning to the living room.
She didn’t trust that Tom’s drug would last long or that Wan Xiaozhou wouldn’t wake up early due to an unusual constitution. To be safe, she decided to restrain her.
If that woman woke up and ambushed her, it would be troublesome.
After locking Wan Xiaozhou up, Fang Xiaocao nodded in satisfaction.
“Now, even if she runs, she won’t get far.”
Initially, she wanted to move Wan Xiaozhou from the living room to a guest room upstairs, but after attempting to lift her, she realized that the woman was too heavy for her to carry. She had to give up on that idea.
Tang City – A Private Villa
Han Xue, dressed in sleepwear, walked out of her bedroom.
On the bed lay the old man who had once forced her to lick his shoes.
As she shut the bedroom door, she glanced at him with a cold smirk.
“Old bastard, do you really think my bed is such a comfortable place to sleep?”
Closing the door behind her, she murmured, “Once you’re no longer useful, it’ll be your time to die.”
She then looked at the key in her hand and turned toward the basement.
Today, she had gotten what she wanted.
Upon reaching the basement, Han Xue unlocked the door and stepped inside.
The basement was filled with a dazzling array of weapons—both melee and firearms.
This place was a weapons storage site for the Nemesis organization, and the old man sleeping upstairs was the person in charge of this location.
Han Xue picked up two small handguns, a few magazines, and a dagger before locking up and leaving the basement.
Her goal today was simply to acquire some weapons.
Returning to her own villa within the same compound—where all the houses belonged to the Nemesis organization—she hid the weapons securely, keeping only the dagger on her person.
Bar Street
“Boss, one of our guys spotted Han Xue.”
A subordinate approached Shen Tao, speaking in a low voice.
“Han Xue?”
“Where is that treacherous woman?”
Upon hearing her name, Shen Tao transformed into a raging beast. His eyes burned with bloodthirsty fury, and his fists clenched so tightly that veins bulged.
“She’s in a villa district in the southern part of the city!”
“Our valet was dropping off a drunk customer there when he spotted her. He thought she looked familiar and later checked the bounty board—turns out it was Han Xue.”
The subordinate reported truthfully.
“Gather the men and grab the weapons!”
“We’re heading to the southern district!”
Shen Tao roared, then opened his office safe and pulled out a gun.
Seeing the firearm, the subordinate was startled and immediately turned to spread the order.
Shen Tao bringing out a gun meant only one thing—he had lost all reason to his hatred.
Two Hours Later
A convoy of three sedans and seven minivans left Bar Street, speeding toward the southern villa district.
Han Xue remained unaware that she had been spotted.
And now…
Shen Tao, who hated her to the core, was leading dozens of men straight for her.
At the Mansion
“Your Highness, I’ve finished adjusting the equipment. Here’s the instruction manual. Read through it, and if you have any questions, just ask me.”
Tom came down the stairs carrying a backpack and placed it on the coffee table. Then he handed a tablet to Fang Xiaocao.
She smiled as she accepted it and began browsing through the bag’s contents, checking the manual for descriptions of the gadgets.
Tom glanced at Wan Xiaozhou and was momentarily stunned.
“Your Highness, what’s this about?”
Seeing Wan Xiaozhou shackled, Tom wondered if Fang Xiaocao had some… peculiar interests.
“This woman’s identity is suspicious. I’ve already asked Taotie to investigate her. Until we have answers, she stays locked up.”
Fang Xiaocao didn’t even look up as she spoke.
“Understood. Whatever you say, Your Highness.”
Tom nodded in agreement.
“Find a place to lock her up properly,” Fang Xiaocao instructed.
Tom thought for a moment before suggesting, “Your Highness, how about I renovate the basement? We can use it to store weapons and detain prisoners.”
“We should also upgrade the mansion itself. Since we’re making this our base, some improvements are necessary.”
