Chapter 162: Tom’s Disguise Show
Seeing Fang Xiaocao’s message, Tom was momentarily stunned. Having been in the game for so long, he had never relied on the police for anything—let alone used them to eliminate an enemy. His line of work didn’t allow for such interactions with law enforcement.
But today, Fang Xiaocao’s plan opened his eyes, as if unveiling a whole new world to him.
“So, things can be done this way too…” Tom murmured to himself.
[Tom: Princess, I’ll keep reviewing the surveillance footage and track down Han Xue’s hiding place.]
Tom quickly sent a message to Fang Xiaocao.
“You just need to check the elevator cameras to pinpoint Han Xue’s location.”
Fang Xiaocao replied.
[Tom: Got it!]
With that, Tom focused on the surveillance footage, switching to the elevator feed. He watched as Han Xue entered the elevator and then exited onto a specific floor, knocking on a guest room door.
Tom narrowed his eyes but didn’t rush to call the police.
Instead, he continued reviewing the footage—just to be sure.
After all, a lot of time had passed. There was no guarantee Han Xue was still inside that room.
Tom increased the playback speed to 4x, keeping his eyes fixed on that guest room door.
If the door opened and anyone left, he would pause immediately.
Under the accelerated playback, time flew by as he skimmed through the footage.
To his surprise, Han Xue never came out.
“She’s really still in there?” Tom muttered in astonishment.
He reset the playback speed to normal and sent a message to Fang Xiaocao.
[Tom: Princess, I’ve found Han Xue’s hideout and confirmed that she hasn’t left. Should I proceed with the plan and call the police?]
Tom detailed everything he saw and awaited her decision.
Fang Xiaocao was silent for a moment before replying: “Go ahead.”
“But don’t expose yourself.”
She added a final warning.
[Tom: Understood, Princess. I’ll start now. I won’t leave a trace.]
“Good. I’ll be waiting for your good news.”
Fang Xiaocao replied before shutting off her phone and lying down to rest.
Staring at screens for so long had given her a headache.
Meanwhile, Tom exited the surveillance feed and quickly prepared himself. He changed into a different outfit, grabbed his phone, and left his room.
Taking the elevator down to the lobby, he didn’t call the police right away.
Instead, he headed into a clothing store.
If he was going to make a report, he needed a disguise first.
A well-executed transformation would ensure that even if someone checked the security cameras, they wouldn’t connect the caller to him.
Tom browsed the store, picking out a mix of men’s and women’s clothing.
Carrying several shopping bags, he entered the store’s restroom. There, he discreetly transferred the women’s clothing into the men’s shopping bags and discarded the empty women’s bags in a stall before walking out.
With his new outfits, Tom returned to the hotel, went to his room, and made further preparations. He stuffed the women’s clothes into a shoulder bag and set out once again.
This time, he headed toward a large shopping mall.
Upon arriving, he made his way to the busiest floor and slipped into a restroom.
Inside, he changed into the women’s outfit, put on makeup, and donned a wig.
Ten minutes later, a tall and elegant woman, wearing high heels, stepped out of the men’s restroom.
That woman was Tom.
Glancing around and ensuring no one was watching, Tom sauntered out of the mall, swaying his hips as he walked.
On the street, he took out an old-fashioned mobile phone, inserted an unregistered SIM card, and dialed the police department’s public number.
“Hello, is this the city police?”
His voice was now silky and feminine.
“Yes, this is the police department. How can we help you?”
A voice responded from the other end.
“I’d like to report something…”
Tom swiftly provided Han Xue’s name and hotel room number before hanging up immediately.
He removed the SIM card, snapped it in half, and tossed both the card and phone into a trash bin.
Then, he entered a large chain supermarket and headed straight for the restroom.
There, he changed once again.
By the time he stepped out, the sultry high-heeled woman had vanished—replaced by a tall, short-haired athlete in sportswear.
With a pair of sunglasses on, he looked completely different.
Tom disposed of the women’s clothing by stuffing them into a toilet and pouring aqua regia (a strong acid) over them, watching as the fabric dissolved.
Satisfied, he flushed the remnants down.
Would the supermarket’s plumbing get clogged?
Not his problem.
As long as the evidence was destroyed, that was all that mattered.
After leaving the restroom, Tom discreetly checked his surroundings before heading back toward the shopping mall.
There, he continued his meticulous transformation process.
Once inside, he entered another restroom, removed the wig and thin silicone mask, and threw them into a toilet, repeating the acid disposal method.
Finally, he changed back into his original attire.
By the time he walked out, Tom was back to his normal self—no traces left behind.
For extra measure, he wandered through different floors of the mall, bought a few random items, paid for them, and then left.
Returning to the hotel, he felt confident.
His execution was flawless.
Even if someone investigated, they’d have no way to link him to the two different “women” caught on security cameras.
After all, how could they prove it?
Just by a restroom entrance video?
