Chapter 113: Another Big Trouble Arrives
“Thousand Faces…”
“Does that mean their face can change infinitely?”
Fang Xiaocao narrowed her eyes and muttered to herself.
“Besides this Thousand Faces, is there any other information?”
She memorized the name and quickly typed a message to Hot Noodles, seeking more useful intel.
[Hot Noodles: I have a lot of information, but very few are fully confirmed. Most of it, I can’t tell if it’s real or just a smokescreen put out by the enemy.]
This message made Fang Xiaocao fall silent. Now that she wasn’t the only one who could foresee the future, it was indeed difficult to distinguish truth from deception.
Any piece of information that wasn’t personally experienced could be a trap deliberately set by the enemy—a carefully orchestrated illusion meant to mislead her.
Truth and lies were now completely intertwined.
“What information can be confirmed?” she asked.
[Hot Noodles: Tom is not dead. The one who drove away was him.]
Fang Xiaocao froze when she saw this message.
“Tom isn’t dead?”
“He took on three people… and won?”
She was utterly shocked.
She never expected Tom to be this formidable.
In the tight, enclosed space of an elevator, being surrounded by three killers was practically a death sentence. Surviving such a situation was much harder than escaping in an open space.
“Is Tom really that strong?” she asked, still in disbelief.
[Hot Noodles: He really is.]
Then, something struck her.
If Tom was alive… why hadn’t he contacted her?
A sudden realization sent a chill down her spine.
“Did Tom break free from the hypnosis?”
She urgently needed to know.
If Tom had managed to break free, she would be in serious danger.
Once someone naturally broke free from hypnosis, it would be extremely difficult to put them under again. Not only would their mind instinctively resist, but someone as skilled as Tom would never give her another chance.
If his hypnosis was undone, Tom would eliminate her the moment she tried again.
That would mean yet another powerful enemy.
It was a terrifying prospect.
Thankfully, Hot Noodles had warned her in time.
Had she encountered Tom unprepared, she couldn’t even imagine how miserably she would have died.
And worst of all… she was still wearing the tracker Tom had given her. No matter where she hid, he would find her.
[Hot Noodles: Don’t worry, his hypnosis is still intact.]
[Hot Noodles: He’s still your obedient little puppy.]
Fang Xiaocao: …
“What the hell, a puppy…?”
She rolled her eyes.
“If he’s still hypnotized, why hasn’t he contacted me?”
She frowned.
[Hot Noodles: His phone screen was smashed when he was fighting the killers. Once he finishes dealing with the bodies, he’ll find you using the tracker.]
“Hah…”
Fang Xiaocao let out a breath of relief.
“At least that’s some good news.”
She muttered.
“Any more good news?”
She asked hopefully.
[Hot Noodles: No more good news. But I do have bad news.]
Her heart sank.
“What bad news?”
[Hot Noodles: Han Xue escaped from the mental hospital.]
“WHAT THE F—?!”
Fang Xiaocao nearly jumped out of her seat.
Her loud exclamation drew the attention of the entire noodle shop.
People turned to look at her curiously.
Flushing with embarrassment, she almost buried her face in her bowl.
“God, this is humiliating…”
She muttered under her breath.
[Hot Noodles: Hahaha, now you know how I felt! I was so embarrassed back then.]
“Ugh! You did that on purpose!”
She fired back.
[Hot Noodles: Of course. If I suffered, you have to suffer too.]
“That actually makes too much sense. I can’t even argue…”
She sighed.
“How did Han Xue escape?”
She frowned.
The psychiatric hospital in Tang City was built like a fortress, its security even stricter than a prison.
It housed some of the most dangerous patients, all of whom had blood on their hands.
How did Han Xue manage to get out?
[Hot Noodles: She seduced a doctor and used him to escape.]
[Hot Noodles: As of now, the hospital hasn’t even realized she’s gone.]
Fang Xiaocao’s skin crawled.
Han Xue was truly willing to do anything.
“Did she escape… to come after me?”
She asked, blinking.
[Hot Noodles: For once, you’re actually self-aware.]
Fang Xiaocao rolled her eyes.
“I’m not an idiot. Of course, I know she hates me the most, aside from Shen Tao, who gave her that disease.”
She let out a deep sigh.
“Where is she now?”
A cold glint flashed in her eyes.
She had made up her mind.
She had been through too much to still be a naive saint.
Han Xue had been a persistent nightmare in her life. Instead of constantly living in fear of being attacked, it was better to end this once and for all.
If she had to play the role of the hunter… then so be it.
[Hot Noodles: I don’t know. I only found out about her escape, not her whereabouts. Be extra careful.]
This answer made Fang Xiaocao’s brows furrow deeply.
Han Xue’s movements were unpredictable.
Now, on top of fending off assassins and dealing with the schemes of Zhi Qi and Su Wanqing, she also had to worry about an utterly deranged Han Xue.
Just thinking about it gave her a headache.
In terms of pure danger, Han Xue might actually be worse than the others.
Unlike the assassins and schemers, she was completely unhinged.
“This is going to be a nightmare…”
Fang Xiaocao sighed.
After a moment of thought, she sent another message:
“Where was Han Xue captured before she was locked up?”
If she couldn’t track her movements after escaping, she could at least start by retracing her steps.
