Chapter 95: Thunderous Rage—Li Xiaonan Has Disappeared
“Baby, call me Li Chen,” Li Chen suddenly said.
Nan Xun hesitated for a long while, then softly called out, “Li… Chen.” Her little face flushed bright red with embarrassment.
Weak and limp, Nan Xun let Li Chen dress her properly. Then he carried her downstairs like a puddle of mud, set her on a dining chair, and went into the kitchen to cook.
Before long, Li Chen came back with a pot of kelp and pork rib soup, carefully ladled a bowl for her, and even held the bowl up to feed her himself.
Little Eight: “This full-package service is really… tsk tsk.”
Nan Xun: “Don’t be jealous. If you’ve got the guts, go lose your own dignity too.”
Little Eight: …
The next day, Old Master Li returned from a trip with old friends. At a glance, he could tell something subtle had changed between the two of them, and his feelings were complicated.
He had long expected this day would come, but he hadn’t expected Li Chen to be such a beast—Nan Nan’s eighteenth birthday was still a few days away, and he had already taken her.
What troubled him even more was that this beast was his own flesh and blood.
On Nan Xun’s birthday, Li Chen asked whether she wanted to invite her classmates over. Nan Xun shook her head repeatedly, saying she only wanted to spend it with Dad.
Little Eight was stunned and quickly asked, “Don’t you like laughter and excitement? Refusing so decisively doesn’t seem like you.”
Nan Xun snorted. “After all this time, don’t you know what Li Chen is like? He’s digging a pit for me. If I happily agreed, he’d nod on the surface but be unhappy inside. You can sense people’s emotions—he’s secretly happy right now, isn’t he?”
Little Eight: “…Yes.”
Li Chen prepared an ultra-luxurious multi-layer cake and a romantic candlelight dinner for Nan Xun. She ate to her heart’s content, her belly sticking out.
“Dad, I’m full,” Nan Xun said.
Li Chen looked at her with a wolfish gaze. “But baby, Dad isn’t full yet.”
Nan Xun hurriedly pushed the mangled cake in front of him. “Then Dad can eat this.”
Li Chen didn’t move, staring straight at her. “Baby, Dad doesn’t want to eat that.”
Nan Xun: This beast!
Then the beast hoisted Nan Xun over his shoulder and carried her upstairs. That night, he devoured her thoroughly—inside and out, top to bottom, front to back.
These shameless days lasted more than two months. One day, Nan Xun sat dazed in the school library.
“Little Eight, Li Chen’s malice value hasn’t dropped at all these past two months?” she asked.
The Void Beast said irritably, “That’s right—not even by 0.1! What the hell is wrong with your Li Chen? He’s clearly happy and satisfied now, so why isn’t the malice value dropping?”
Nan Xun pondered. “Do you think it’s because he got me too easily, so it’s like this?”
The Void Beast thought for a moment. “That’s very possible.”
Nan Xun snapped her fingers. “I’ve got it—let’s do a great escape.”
Li Xiaonan disappeared.
That day, Li Xiaonan, who always returned to the Li family villa on schedule, didn’t come back. At first, Li Chen thought his little treasure had been delayed by something—until the people secretly protecting her reported that Miss Li was missing.
Two black-clad bodyguards knelt on the floor, trembling.
“Master Li, we followed your instructions and monitored Miss’s every move. On the way back, she went to a public restroom. We waited outside, but she didn’t come out for a long time. We rushed in and found that Miss was gone.”
Li Chen turned the ring on his thumb, his gaze icy, his face dark.
No one knew that beneath his calm exterior, a towering rage had already ignited.
He knew his recent methods had been aggressive—ruthlessly uprooting old parasites within the group, harming the interests of certain people, especially those old hands loyal to the previous generation. But whatever it was, they should have come for him. If anyone dared touch the apple of his eye, he would make sure each of them died a miserable death.
With the last shred of reason, Li Chen arranged all search efforts—most manpower watched several old men with conflicting interests, while the rest guarded places Li Xiaonan frequented.
The high-intensity work lasted a full month.
The living room lights were off. Li Chen sat alone in a corner of the sofa, exhaling smoke, his shadow cast darkly on the floor, looking utterly solitary.
Old Master Li snapped on the light. Seeing Li Chen clearly, he realized that during the day Li Chen acted as if nothing were wrong while handling work, but at night he completely collapsed.
The hall was filled with choking smoke. Li Chen sat with narrowed eyes, seemingly deep in thought. The ashtray before him was full of cigarette butts, and another cigarette smoldered between his fingers.
“Li Chen… still no news of Nan Nan?” Old Master Li asked.
Li Chen didn’t answer.
After hesitating, Old Master Li said, “You should have realized by now—Nan Nan wasn’t taken by your enemies. She… left on her own.”
Li Chen finally moved. He turned sharply, eyes blazing, and said in a low voice, “Nan Nan wouldn’t leave me. I love her so much—why would she leave?”
Old Master Li replied, “You know better than anyone why you two are together. Does Nan Nan truly love you, or has she mistaken paternal love for romantic love? Maybe she heard some gossip and realized your relationship isn’t normal. She couldn’t take the shock and ran away. Give her some time—once she figures it out, she might come back.”
After saying this, Old Master Li patted his shoulder and left.
Li Chen looked up at the glaring crystal chandelier. Under the light, his bloodshot eyes seemed to gleam with a bloody hue.
Was that really the case?
Had Li Xiaonan accepted him so easily simply because she saw it as a father’s command? Was she used to obeying him, to pleasing him—while deep down longing to return to their former father-daughter relationship?
Impossible.
In all his life, Li Chen had never actively pursued any woman. Li Xiaonan was the first and would be the last.
If it wasn’t what he wanted, he wouldn’t swallow it even if it meant suppressing himself—just like that woman who claimed to be Li Xiaonan’s mother. When she drugged him, he would rather endure the agony of burning desire and summon his private doctor for an antidote than take a scheming woman to bed.
He gave that woman to his personal bodyguard. Ridiculous—she thought she’d gotten her wish, planning to use a child to become the Li family’s young madam.
He believed he and Li Xiaonan were bound by an inescapable fate. She was born to belong to him!
Li Chen sat in silence, then suddenly let out a low, heavy laugh. His eyes glinted with bone-chilling coldness.
“Baby, do you want to go back to being father and daughter with me? Let me tell you—that’s absolutely impossible. This time, you’ve been very naughty. When Daddy finds you, he’ll make sure to punish you properly…”
