Chapter 65: Don’t Cry—I’ll Be Very Gentle
Bai Mo’s once scrawny childhood body had been well taken care of by Nan Xun. Now she had curves in all the right places and a slim, willowy waist. This white, fitted dress was simple and elegant, accentuating her figure perfectly—it suited her especially well.
Fu Yu stepped forward and wrapped an arm around her waist. “Mo-mo, I want to buy this dress for you myself.”
Nan Xun shot him a sidelong glance and scoffed mercilessly. “How are you going to buy it—using spirit money?”
The ghost gentleman was instantly rendered speechless.
After all, the money he had now really was all spirit money.
Wearing her new dress, Nan Xun walked down the street with a 100% head-turning rate. Fu Yu was displeased. His gaze turned sinister as he stared at the men looking at Nan Xun, murderous intent flashing in his eyes. “Mo-mo, I really want to gouge out their eyes.”
Nan Xun felt a headache coming on and quickly tightened her grip on his hand. “Mr. Fu Yu, I’m yours now. Other people can only look—but you’re different.”
She had thought it would take a lot of effort to calm Fu Yu down, but he seemed to think of something, lowered his head slightly, curved his lips, and said, “Mo-mo, I understand now.”
Nan Xun was a little bewildered.
Ghost sir, what exactly do you understand? Why don’t I understand anything at all?
At the movies, Nan Xun bought two tickets. To outsiders, the seat beside her looked empty, but only she knew that a possessive ghost was sitting next to her.
Throughout the entire film, that icy-cold large hand held hers tightly. He didn’t watch the movie at all—he just kept staring at her.
Fortunately, Nan Xun was broad-minded. Even with the ghost lord’s burning gaze fixed on her the whole time, she could continue watching the movie with a straight face—and before she knew it, she was absorbed in it.
By the end of the movie, the female lead died of cancer. The male lead, unable to live without her, crashed his car and died as well.
The plot was melodramatic, but the actors’ performances were solid, and the set design was beautiful and lavish.
Sobbing filled the theater. Everyone was moved to tears by this earth-shattering love story—but Nan Xun didn’t shed a single tear. She thought the feelings were too fake.
Fu Yu, who hadn’t really watched the movie, only saw the final scene. Suddenly he asked Nan Xun, “Mo-mo, if you were the male lead, would you follow her in death?”
Nan Xun stretched lazily and replied offhandedly, “Of course not. There’s no such thing as love that’s worth dying over everywhere you look. If the male lead just ups and leaves like that, doesn’t he think about the people who care about him—especially his parents? White-haired people sending off black-haired ones—how heartbreaking is that? In the end, that man is just selfish and unfilial.”
Fu Yu’s large hand gripping hers suddenly tightened. He coldly asked, “If the one who died were me, would you follow me?”
Nan Xun suddenly felt creeped out. Damn—did what she just said make the boss very unhappy?
“Little Eight, Little Eight, I’m freaking out—how am I supposed to answer this?”
Void Beast: “…Good luck.”
Nan Xun gathered her emotions, turned to look at him, her gaze firm. “Fu Yu, do you want me to die with you? If you do, I’ll die. Anyway, the person who loved me most—my mom—is already gone, and there’s nothing left in this world that I’m attached to.”
Fu Yu was silent for a while, then shook his head. “If Mo-mo dies, there won’t be this warmth anymore. Even if I refined you into a puppet, you wouldn’t be the original Mo-mo. I like you when you’re alive.”
Nan Xun took his hand, kissed it lightly, and said, “Fu Yu, do whatever you want. Even if you do something wrong, I won’t blame you…”
The movie hadn’t even finished its credits when the ferocious ghost hurriedly pulled Nan Xun away.
All the way back, Fu Yu was silent, holding Nan Xun’s hand tightly without letting go.
When they reached the old house, the door opened by itself. Fu Yu lifted Nan Xun in one motion, pinned her against the door, and pressed a fierce, scorching kiss down on her.
Nan Xun’s eyes widened.
Damn—did that line she’d just said, which wasn’t even a proper love line, stimulate the boss that much?
“Little Eight, Little Eight, it’s over—it’s over! I think the boss wants to do that to me!”
The Void Beast responded with an “Oh.” “This day was bound to come sooner or later. As the saying goes, early death means early rebirth—try to see it positively… I’m blocking my five senses now. Bye-bye~”
“Little Eight! You damn Little Eight!”
Nan Xun was kissed until she couldn’t breathe. When she finally found a sliver of space, she hurriedly said, “To… to the bedroom…”
And then the ghost lord carried her straight upstairs. Afraid of falling, Nan Xun quickly hooked her legs around his waist.
The ghost lord chuckled lowly, the laughter echoing between their lips and teeth, making her tongue tingle.
Suddenly she felt a chill. Looking down, she saw that her clothes had been stripped off. Then came her shoes, scattered east and west across the wooden floor of the living room.
Then her panties, her underwear… falling all along the way.
With a bang, the bedroom door slammed shut.
Before long, Nan Xun’s miserable crying echoed through the house.
The ghost lord licked away her tears, his voice exceptionally gentle. “Mo-mo, don’t cry. I’ll be very, very gentle…”
And yet Nan Xun’s wails still rang out all night.
“Fu Yu, you’re a lying ghost—!”
“Mo-mo, this time I really will be very gentle.”
“Get the hell away from me—there’s no next time!”
The next morning, Nan Xun wrapped herself up like a silkworm, only her head sticking out, staring blankly out the window.
The satisfied ghost lord was gone, apparently downstairs making breakfast.
Void Beast: “Dear, are you okay? Heehee, good news! After last night’s intense battle, the ferocious ghost boss’s malice value dropped by 20—20! We only have 5 points left and we’ll succeed!”
Nan Xun listlessly replied, “…I’m mourning the chastity I lost yesterday.”
The Void Beast coughed lightly. “Dear, in our line of work, only by losing your chastity can you exchange it for a bright future. Try to see it positively~”
Nan Xun let out a dry laugh. “Little Eight, I’m the one losing chastity, not you.”
The Void Beast began playing dead.
Nan Xun hugged the quilt and sat up. Thinking of something, she quickly called out, “Little Eight, don’t play dead yet—I need to ask you something serious.”
The Void Beast instantly revived at full health. “Dear, ask away.”
“Last night, when the ghost lord and I were… doing that, I suddenly felt a sense of familiarity, like our souls were merging. Why do you think I felt that?” Nan Xun asked.
The Void Beast exclaimed, “Oh my, dear, you’re so dirty—soul merging? Just say body merging already~”
Nan Xun rubbed her forehead. “Little Eight, I’m seriously asking you this.”
The Void Beast paused, then said, “Probably… you were just overthinking it?”
Nan Xun hummed in acknowledgment and said nothing more, only staring out the window in a daze, her gaze flickering, lost in thoughts unknown.
