Chapter 29: Unlocked — The Eighty-One Positions
Before he could get close, Nan Xun shoved him away and snapped angrily, “Are you trying to get yourself killed? The witchcraft on my body hasn’t been lifted yet!”
Xue Ming laughed. “The witchcraft on my body has already been completely removed, and the witchcraft inside Xunxun is being suppressed by my beast core for now. It won’t be transmitted to me.”
As he spoke, he joined with her little by little, firmly, beginning to savor the sweetness beneath him again and again, lingering and indulging.
When Nan—now a complete puddle—Xun opened her eyes again, the man beside her was nowhere to be seen.
“Little Eight, where did the Demon King go?” Nan Xun asked with a yawn.
A lustful snake that had just resumed eating meat was truly terrifying—she felt as if her body no longer belonged to her, sore and weak all over.
The Void Beast’s tone practically took flight. “The Demon King went to deal with those unruly demon beasts in the Demon Realm~”
Nan Xun chuckled. “You’re in a great mood, huh, Little Eight?”
The Void Beast snickered. “Just last night alone, the Demon King’s malice value dropped from 99 straight down to 10. How could I not be happy? The power of love is truly amazing! You made the Demon King realize that there are things in this world even better than killing, killing, killing and eating, eating, eating. I reckon once he finishes taking revenge, those last 10 points of malice will disappear completely! Mwahahaha…”
Nan Xun, however, wasn’t as happy as it was. After a moment of silence, she suddenly asked, “If he doesn’t have his beast core, can he still defeat the human race and the divine beasts led by the Azure Dragon?”
The Void Beast cried out in shock. “You’re worried about the Demon King? Y-you—you’re not falling in love with him too, are you?”
Nan Xun rolled her eyes. “I clearly remember the Demon King biting off a chunk of flesh from my shoulder alive. That feeling was so intense it made me want to die on the spot.”
The Void Beast gave an “oh.”
“I also clearly remember the scene of the Demon King swallowing the fake Zui Li Xuan whole. That scene was so ‘beautiful’ I didn’t dare look—but it parades through my dreams every single night. Heh.”
Another “oh” from the Void Beast.
Nan Xun snorted. “Do you really think I’d be some kind of masochist? Falling in love with a perverted snake that eats me at the slightest disagreement? If I hadn’t been smart, quick on my feet, and an excellent actress, I’d have been swallowed alive long ago!”
The Void Beast replied, “Oh my, as long as that’s not the case. I was just afraid you’d fall in too deep. You need to remember, everything here is fake to you. Your goal is to return to your own world—don’t forget your original intention~”
Nan Xun gazed at a luminous pearl embedded in the wall, her pitch-black pupils reflecting its faint glow, unusually bright.
She had always been clear-headed.
Perhaps there had been fleeting moments when Xue Ming treated her best that her heart had stirred—but she was someone rational to the point of near coldness, always remembering her purpose.
Besides, if it weren’t for her good luck and high emotional intelligence, she really would have been eaten by Xue Ming! For real!
—
The Demon King would disappear for a while every day; the rest of the time, he stayed in the sleeping palace, pinning Nan Xun down and shamelessly indulging with her.
At first, it was just simple pressing and pressing. Later, who knew whose guidance the Demon King received—he suddenly seemed to awaken, changing locations countless times: on the dressing table, on the stone table, on the floor, even against the wall.
As the locations changed, the positions unlocked all eighty-one variations, and he played to his heart’s content.
Nan Xun really wanted to curse, but every time she didn’t even have the strength left to do so.
“Xunxun, I’ve already sent battle challenges to the human race and the various divine beast clans. We’ve agreed to fight in ten years. No matter the outcome, both sides will cease hostilities for ten thousand years, ensuring ten thousand years of peace on the Silver River Continent.” Xue Ming’s large hand shamelessly kneaded the soft flesh at Nan Xun’s waist, while his tone remained impeccably serious.
Nan Xun gave a weak “mm,” lifted her limp hand, and pointed at her chest. “Xue Ming, the witchcraft on my body is gone now. Take your beast core back.”
Xue Ming lovingly extended his snake tongue and licked her lips, smiling. “Does Xunxun know how many people in this world dream of obtaining my beast core? Something others crave so desperately—how can you be so indifferent to it?”
Nan Xun was already used to the long snake tongue wreaking havoc on her face. Hearing this, she replied quite seriously, “I just don’t want anything to happen to you. Ten years is but the blink of an eye to you—you need to hurry and recover your strength.”
After saying this, Nan Xun told Little Eight in her heart, I feel like such a scumbag—sweet talk just flows right out of me. But it’s all thanks to the ‘Sweet Talk Manual’ you gave me.
Perhaps because the Demon King had nearly recovered recently, Little Eight responded less and less often. This time, there was no response at all.
Nan Xun’s sweet words indeed moved Xue Ming. He hooked her nose with a finger, the indulgence in his eyes nearly overflowing. “All right, I’ll listen to Xunxun. I’ll end all of this as soon as possible. Didn’t you say you wanted to travel and see the world? Once this battle is over, I’ll accompany you.”
Nan Xun happily wrapped her arms around his neck. “You said it.”
She then took the initiative to kiss him, murmuring indistinctly, “Hurry up and take back the beast core.”
Xue Ming chuckled softly. After his long tongue teased and played for a while, he finally extended it into the woman’s body and hooked out the blood-red beast core.
—
Ten years in the Demon Realm passed quickly.
During those ten years, Xue Ming and Nan Xun lived like an old married couple. Nan Xun would prepare meals every day and wait for Xue Ming; after handling state affairs during the day, Xue Ming would rush back to eat with her.
No one would have imagined that Xue Ming—now adeptly holding chopsticks and picking up a mouthful of greens to place in Nan Xun’s bowl, saying indulgently, “You can’t eat only meat—have some vegetables”—had once been a bloodthirsty demon beast that preferred raw flesh and cold blood.
Nan Xun was a devoted carnivore. Seeing the pile of greens in her bowl, her expression immediately changed. With a huff, she promptly picked up a chopstickful of shredded carrots and placed them in Xue Ming’s bowl, smiling brightly. “Ming, eating carrots is good for your health~”
Successfully seeing Xue Ming’s expression change, Nan Xun burst into laughter.
She had accidentally discovered that Xue Ming particularly detested eating carrots. In fact, this vegetable wasn’t exactly carrot—it just looked and tasted very similar—but she treated it as such.
Whenever Xue Ming bullied her, Nan Xun would make carrot dishes. Recently, having been thoroughly tormented, she was in a foul mood and had been making a plate of stir-fried shredded carrots almost every day.
Though Xue Ming’s face darkened, he still obediently ate the chopstickful of “carrots” Nan Xun gave him. Then he looked at her sternly. “All right. You finish all the greens in your bowl too—not a single stalk left.”
Nan Xun could only eat the greens with a miserable expression.
After the meal, the two of them fell silent at the same time, as if thinking of the same thing.
“Ming, the day of the great battle is three days from now,” Nan Xun said.
Xue Ming hummed in response. “Don’t worry. I’ll be fine. Once this battle is over, no matter the outcome, both sides will honor the agreement and cease fighting for ten thousand years.”
Nan Xun reached out and interlaced her fingers with his. “You must come back safely. Promise me.”
