Chapter 86: Fierce Battle, Scavenging in Progress
Battles in the age of space are dazzling and chaotic.
Beams of laser light flew in every direction, yet the annihilation gun that Su Ning had seen earlier appeared very rarely—likely due to its rarity.
Su Ning watched the scene of utter chaos.
Years of oppression and forced labor had pushed the miners to their breaking point. They now rose in determined rebellion, wielding every tool at hand as a weapon, charging at the bio-soldiers.
What caught the most attention, however, were the players with unique abilities.
Players were the core of this uprising.
Su Ning spotted Wang Chao, who had previously joined Andy’s team. His powers were particularly destructive and attention-grabbing. With a flick of his hand, countless red tomatoes flew through the air—and the next second, they transformed into a terrifying rain of lava, splashing onto the bio-soldiers. The intense heat of the magma instantly melted the mechanical parts of their bodies.
“This new human’s ability looks really dangerous,” Fei Wenli narrowed her eyes, seeing Wang Chao as a tough opponent and deciding to take matters into her own hands. Her hair suddenly changed, transforming into deadly serpents, and her eyes lit up with a powerful glow.
Seeing this, Su Ning recalled how Aizemark had been turned to stone. “Is that the Petrifying Gaze skill?”
On the other side, Andy’s hypersensitive intuition kicked in. She noticed Fei Wenli making a move and instantly became alert.
“Watch out!” she shouted to Wang Chao.
Wang Chao responded by flinging more red fruits from his plant space, including a batch of second-grade ore—Fire Garnet—that he had mined on his first day.
As the fiery garnets collided with the lava-transformed tomatoes, a chain of terrifying explosions erupted.
“Ahhh!” The lava splattered everywhere, causing area-of-effect damage.
Dex, standing next to Su Ning, was caught in the blast and covered in lava. Though he didn’t die, he was in miserable shape.
The intense heat and corrosiveness of the magma instantly burned him. His skin turned black and charred, and his clothes were nearly incinerated.
He collapsed to the ground, screaming in pain.
Other survivors frantically dodged the splashing lava. The scene devolved into utter chaos.
Fei Wenli, however, was protected by her venomous python, which absorbed all the damage for her.
Wang Chao was stunned. “What kind of creature is that?”
Andy was excited, realizing that Wang Chao’s abilities severely countered the surrounding bio-soldiers.
Meanwhile, Su Ning took advantage of the chaos to quietly withdraw from the battlefield and begin executing her own plan.
The confusion provided the perfect opportunity to collect the items she wanted.
Of course, she wasn’t the only one with this idea.
Just as she turned a corner, Su Ning came face to face with a monkey-faced, sharp-mouthed man grinning wickedly.
He had been scavenging too, hoping to find something valuable. But to his surprise—and delight—he ran into Su Ning, the woman who had previously humiliated him.
“Running into you at a time like this? Perfect,” the man sneered. He had found an annihilation gun and was ready to get his revenge.
Su Ning, however, simply ignored him.
Infuriated by her attitude, the man raised the gun and growled, “Don’t move, or I’ll blast you into ashes!”
Su Ning rolled her eyes, clearly unfazed by his threat.
Just then, a black blur flashed past, and the monkey-faced man’s vision blurred.
He looked again and was shocked to see a strange wasp hovering beside Su Ning.
Its wings flickered with a faint glow, and yellow lightning crackled around its body with a sizzling sound.
His eyes widened in horror.
He tried to pull the trigger of his powerful gun, but Su Ning—despite her aloof expression—had been watching his every move.
Before he could react, a sharp electric crackling rang in his ears, and the next second, all sensation left his body.
Su Ning turned to the wasp by her side and said softly, “Honghong, you must be tired of staying in the space for so long. Now’s a perfect time to stretch your wings.”
The wasp, Honghong, buzzed happily around her.
Without even sparing another glance at the lifeless man, Su Ning walked over to his body and picked up the annihilation gun.
It was sleek and finely crafted.
Su Ning thought to herself, This gun’s a good find. I can keep it for emergencies—or let Unit One use it. I wonder if the skill “Bullet Storm” can enhance the annihilation gun’s power.
She decided to test it out later.
Then she entered the mine, intending to retrieve Unit Two along with all the ores it had dug up.
Returning to the crystal mine zone, she saw that the landscape had completely changed due to Unit Two’s activity.
Countless holes pockmarked the ground, and heaps of various ores had formed small hills.
Su Ning wasted no time—she quickly packed everything into her scavenger backpack and left.
All around her, the sounds of gunfire echoed in the distance.
Back on the battlefield, the fight had reached a new level of intensity.
Fei Wenli and her venomous python were fighting alone against a growing number of players—Andy, Wang Chao, Ma Dong, Zhang Tao, Li Quan, and many more.
They surrounded her like hunters stalking a final boss, giving her no chance to breathe.
“Damn it!” Fei Wenli cursed under her breath.
She had never imagined the rebels would bring such formidable fighters.
Her fury boiled over, especially after a sneak attack from Wang Chao had splashed burning lava onto her face.
Her once flawless skin melted away instantly, distorting her beautiful face into something grotesque.
“Everyone, give it all you’ve got! Take her down, and we win!” someone shouted.
Fei Wenli glared at them, clutching her weapon tightly.
But when she touched her ruined face and felt the warm blood trickle from her fingers, she realized her beauty was gone.
“You’re all going to die!” she screamed.
Her roar marked the start of the battle’s most intense phase.
Her attacks became increasingly ferocious, each strike aimed to kill.
Wang Chao and the others didn’t back down. They fought with everything they had, determined to break through her defenses.
Unlike Su Ning, whose mission was relatively straightforward, their only way to return to the real world was to defeat Fei Wenli and take the energy crystal on her back.
Meanwhile, Su Ning moved through the colony base, completely detached from the brutal fight.
She began her scavenging spree in earnest.
Tossed-aside miner suits? Taken!
Broken high-tech gadgets of unknown origin? Collected!
Even damaged bio-soldiers? Into the backpack they went!
Eventually, she made her way to the miners’ cafeteria, which had been abandoned due to the chaos.
She headed straight to the kitchen in the back.
