Chapter 85: Riot! A Chance to Scavenge?
Aizemark’s sudden attack left all the cyborg guards stunned.
However, his target—Fei Wenli—seemed to have anticipated this scene all along.
Faced with the sudden ambush, she didn’t panic at all. Instead, she looked at Aizemark with interest, a cunning glint flickering in her eyes.
When she casually said, “No more acting, huh?”, Aizemark’s pupils dilated in shock.
But he quickly recovered. He had the terrifying weapon Andy had given him, and as long as he killed the woman in front of him, it would all be over.
Without hesitation, Aizemark pulled the trigger of the annihilation gun—yet the expected deadly blue light never appeared. All that came was a dull mechanical clunk.
Aizemark widened his eyes in disbelief, inwardly cursing, “Now of all times?! Is this a joke?”
He couldn’t believe the gun had malfunctioned at such a critical moment.
With his ambush failed, Aizemark immediately changed tactics, lunging toward Fei Wenli with brute force.
If the weapon didn’t work, he’d use the most primitive method to kill her—but in the next moment, he was stunned to see a massive python appear behind Fei Wenli. And right before his eyes, Fei Wenli herself began to transform.
Her hair writhed wildly and morphed into countless purple serpents, venomous snakes slithering and dancing through the air.
Fei Wenli locked eyes with Aizemark—and unleashed her Petrifying Gaze.
In the blink of an eye, Aizemark’s body began to turn to stone, unable to move.
Aizemark muttered, “How could this—”, but didn’t finish his sentence. He was already a statue.
“So this is the rebellion’s grand strategy? What a joke,” Fei Wenli sneered.
Meanwhile, chaos had erupted outside the colonial company and across various bases.
Andy’s team had also launched their offensive.
The long-oppressed miners took this opportunity to rise up in resistance.
Su Ning had just stepped into Fei Wenli’s quarters when her ears were filled with the deafening roar of explosions.
“What’s going on? Is this place under attack?” she frowned.
Suddenly, she remembered the other players who had entered this simulation world with her.
Especially Andy, who had approached her early on. “Could all this chaos be their doing?”
Su Ning couldn’t help but admire their guts.
Dex walked into the room looking just as confused.
But the moment he saw the statue of Cocoro in the room, his rage erupted.
He stormed over to the stone figure and began kicking and punching it furiously—without any restraint.
He even smashed off one of the statue’s arms, cursing furiously, “Cocoro, you almost got me killed!”
Seeing the tense atmosphere around her, Su Ning stayed quiet. But when she saw the statue, she instinctively used Scavenger’s Eye.
[Player: Aizemark] (Petrified)
Su Ning: ??
She glanced at the furious Dex and wondered if she should tell him, “You’re beating the wrong guy…”
Aizemark is here, which means all the chaos outside—they really caused it.
Su Ning understood their objective. Aizemark had probably attempted to assassinate Fei Wenli using his own strength.
Clearly, that plan had failed.
Fei Wenli crossed her arms, her expression cold as she surveyed the room.
“It’s been a long time since I last dealt with things personally. Looks like the people out there have forgotten what I’m capable of. The riot has begun—execute the core members of the rebellion on the spot.”
Her voice was icy and merciless, as if pronouncing death sentences.
Rows of cyborgs clad in black armor stood at attention before Fei Wenli, weapons in hand. In unison, they responded:
“Yes!”
Their eyes gleamed with cruelty and determination. They followed Fei Wenli’s orders without hesitation.
Once the cyborg army departed, Dex hesitated slightly before cautiously speaking up.
“Boss, if we eliminate everyone involved in the uprising, we’ll lose two-thirds of the miners. Our mining efficiency will plummet.”
His tone was filled with concern, clearly worried about the consequences of this approach.
Fei Wenli, however, remained indifferent. “Doesn’t matter. We’ll just get more people from other planets. And besides, my lab could use some new test subjects.”
She smiled slightly, already imagining what new experiments she could conduct.
Su Ning listened with growing unease. She realized this was the authority of those in power—they could decide life or death with a single word.
Just then, Fei Wenli turned to look directly at Su Ning, a dangerous glint in her eyes.
Su Ning felt her scalp tingle, goosebumps rising as if a venomous snake were staring her down.
She thought to herself, This woman is too dangerous. If I get a chance, I must take her out—for my own safety, and for the good of others.
After all, experimenting on other women just to maintain her beauty… a person like that deserves death.
At that moment, Su Ning began to seriously consider how to get rid of Fei Wenli.
Meanwhile, the battle outside was intensifying.
Su Ning could feel the rising power of rebellion.
Suddenly, Dex rushed back in from outside, panic written all over his face.
“Miss! Bad news! The rebels—many of them are New Humans! The situation is out of control!”
Fei Wenli’s expression darkened.
Unbelievable. Her cyborg army couldn’t even handle these rebels?
“I didn’t expect the rebels to be this strong. How many New Humans are there?”
Dex replied, “Roughly over a hundred.”
Fei Wenli thought she had misheard. “You’re not joking?”
Dex wiped the sweat from his brow. “No joke. These people were all recent miners. Who would’ve thought so many New Humans were hiding among them?”
Su Ning figured the so-called “New Humans” Dex referred to were likely the players who entered the instance.
Seeing that chaos had broken out, even players not aligned with Andy’s group had likely seized the opportunity to loot or act on their own.
And there were far more than the hundred Dex mentioned. Su Ning recalled there were over 300 players coming out of the stasis pods when she did—maybe even more.
Should I also act during the chaos?
The second level of the lab had piqued Su Ning’s interest, but a glance at the venomous python beside Fei Wenli made her hold back.
I wonder if Jiang Jiang’s Rat King can defeat that snake?
She considered using her beast-taming skill—but instinctively felt that her ability couldn’t compete with Fei Wenli’s Medusa-like control over snakes.
So Su Ning decided not to act rashly. Better to stay cautious for now.
Fei Wenli, too, stopped lounging around and got serious.
“Seems this riot is far more intense than expected. Looks like they’ve been planning for a long time. Fine—I’ll deal with them myself.”
Dex shouted excitedly, “Yes, Miss!”
