Chapter 50: Perish Together?
“As expected, there was definitely something wrong with the shelter Ning Wu’s family went to earlier,” Su Ning thought quickly, a surge of suspicion rising in her heart.
This terrifying explosion was anything but simple.
However, at that moment, Wang Ke didn’t give her any time to think. A malicious smile appeared on his face as he said, “This beautiful young lady, this dungeon is so dangerous for someone alone. Why don’t I be your knight? Protect you.”
The perception zombie standing nearby: So I’m not human? Well, I guess I’m really not.
Su Ning looked speechlessly at Wang Ke, her expression filled with disgust and disdain.
At that moment, Wang Ke was actually contemplating how to deal with the situation regarding Ning Wu.
After all, his boss wanted someone who had now been eaten by his own pet—definitely not a small issue. His boss would surely be in a terrible mood.
Thus, he had to find another way to calm his boss’s anger.
And now, Su Ning’s sudden appearance made her a perfect target.
“Such a young beauty… The boss will definitely be excited when he sees her,” he thought secretly. If he handed Su Ning over, maybe the boss would let him off the hook—after all, the boss seemed to value Ning Wu quite a bit.
Su Ning was no stranger to the kind of look Wang Ke gave her.
It was that same unsettling gaze again. Su Ning clicked her tongue in annoyance.
But she didn’t take it seriously. The last guy who looked at her like that was now obediently sitting inside her backpack, waiting for her command.
When Wang Ke saw that Su Ning wasn’t responding, he directly urged his Black Wild Lizard to charge forward.
Su Ning didn’t hesitate. This guy was definitely no good. She quickly pulled a machine gun from her backpack and aimed it directly at Wang Ke.
Seeing Su Ning pull a firearm out of nowhere, Wang Ke’s expression changed slightly. “A spatial ability?”
However, he didn’t back down. On the contrary, he laughed even more excitedly, “Haha, interesting! Looks like you’ve got some skills. But do you really think that’ll stop me?”
As he spoke, he ordered the Black Wild Lizard to speed up its charge toward Su Ning.
Even though Su Ning held a gun, Wang Ke didn’t believe she could hit him.
After all, his “Precious” had incredible agility. How could a mere woman possibly land a shot?
However, right at that moment, Su Ning pulled the trigger. A series of gunshots rang out—“Bang bang bang!”
In an instant, Wang Ke was flung off the back of the lizard.
His prized pet, once full of promise, had been shot in the head and killed instantly.
Wang Ke: …
Su Ning stood with her gun. Thanks to her skill [Perfect Aim], she didn’t miss a single shot—every bullet was deadly, with no room for error.
The sudden turn of events left Wang Ke utterly dumbfounded. His beloved “Precious” was so easily slain right before his eyes.
Agile? Tough-skinned?
He wailed.
“My Precious! How could you leave me like this?!”
He was devastated—he had lost his greatest support.
Now how was he supposed to capture Su Ning and offer her to his boss?
He probably couldn’t even save his own life at this point.
Watching Su Ning approach him step by step, Wang Ke grew increasingly anxious.
Still, he thought there might be a chance if Su Ning ran out of bullets… but that was wishful thinking.
And that was all it remained—a thought. Wang Ke had already been gravely injured by Su Ning’s earlier shots. Though not fatal, he was in no condition to fight back.
“Where are the family members of the man your pet ate? And was it you who caused the explosion? Speak!”
Faced with the cold barrel of a gun at his head, Wang Ke was terrified.
“Beautiful lady, please have mercy! I’ll talk! So, you knew Ning Wu? Too bad—his wife and child were killed in that explosion just now.”
At those words, Su Ning’s expression turned chillingly dark. A cold aura radiated from her, freezing the air around her.
“What exactly happened?” Su Ning asked coldly, her voice trembling with barely suppressed fury.
Wang Ke swallowed nervously, terrified she’d shoot him on the spot.
Sweat beaded on his forehead as he cursed his luck. Faced with Su Ning’s sharp gaze and murderous intent, he knew that if he didn’t spill the truth, he’d never leave alive.
However, Wang Ke also knew he absolutely couldn’t reveal the real story.
If this woman found out they had intentionally set off the explosion to kill Ning Wu’s family, with the way she was acting now, she’d surely kill him without hesitation.
So, his eyes flicked as he changed the subject.
“Pretty lady, don’t you want a [Planting Space]? Join us, and it’ll be yours. See how beautiful that explosion was? The mission is already halfway done!”
Su Ning frowned, her eyes flashing with disgust. She knew Wang Ke was trying to change the subject—but she wouldn’t let him off so easily.
She raised her gun and pointed it at Wang Ke’s leg.
“Bang!” A crisp gunshot shattered the silence.
“Aaargh!!” Wang Ke screamed, clutching his wounded leg as he collapsed in agony.
Blood streamed through his fingers, staining the ground.
Su Ning stood expressionless, her gun still trained on him.
Her voice was ice cold, “This is your last chance. Tell me what really happened—or the next shot won’t be so merciful.”
But Wang Ke only screamed louder, ignoring her threat. A vicious glint flashed in his eyes.
“That b*tch… She never planned to let me live. In that case, if I’m dying, I’m taking her with me!”
As he continued howling, he surveyed the surroundings.
Because of the gunshots and his wailing, zombies had begun to gather.
They were drawn by the scent of blood and the noise, snarling and clawing as they closed in on their position.
Wang Ke grinned secretly. If he could just buy some time, maybe he could drag this woman down to hell with him.
But that fantasy was about to be crushed.
Su Ning’s calm voice rang out:
“You weren’t thinking of using the zombies to die together with me, were you?”
Wang Ke froze.
He had thought his plan was flawless, but Su Ning had seen through everything long ago.
If she already knew, why hadn’t she reacted until now?
Just then, Su Ning let out a soft laugh. It was clear and melodious, like a sound from far away.
Then, she suddenly raised her head and locked eyes with Wang Ke.
At that moment, her already beautiful face took on a deadly allure, like a blossoming flower radiating danger.
“Guess why I let it go this far?”
