Doomsday: Scavenging in a Survival Game – CH126

Hidden Threat – Players from Other Worlds!

Chapter 126: Hidden Threat – Players from Other Worlds!

Although Su Ning was slightly disappointed she couldn’t exploit the dungeon key system, she was still quite satisfied.

Now that she had bound the “Hell of the Dead” dungeon, Su Ning wanted to enter it again to collect materials—like zombie corpses.

Meanwhile, after Su Ning left, the Sixth Shelter continued on as usual. Whether it lost one person or gained another didn’t matter much to the overall system.

Inside the shelter, most people still relied on aid just to barely survive.

Since the survival game descended, the “players” who had entered the game were mostly driven away by the extreme danger and harshness of the dungeons. Many simply gave up their player status.

To survive, they could only exchange cheap labor for food and survival resources inside the shelter.

In one of the crudest little rooms of the Sixth Shelter, Yan Yuehua curled up tightly, her face pale.

She was freezing and starving, and she deeply regretted giving up her player qualification.
Not only did she fail to become stronger, she now had to suffer through constant hunger, waiting hopelessly for handouts from her family and the shelter.

“Relief meal’s here.”
A middle-aged woman impatiently tossed a food container in front of her.

After dropping it, the woman muttered under her breath:

“What a useless waste. Why didn’t you just die when you went missing? One less mouth to feed would’ve been great. Now that you’ve been found, we have to keep supporting you.”

Yan Yuehua weakly raised her head, looking at the woman she once called sister-in-law.

She gave a bitter smile. Back when she had money, these people flattered her constantly.
Now, they treated her like a burden, giving her only cold stares and contempt.

Yan Yuehua gently stroked her swollen belly.

“Baby, please grow quickly… That man promised that as long as I give birth to you, I’ll live a good life.”

Her eyes were full of tenderness. She completely ignored the mockery of her brother and sister-in-law.

She believed that once she gave birth, they’d grovel before her again, and when that day came, she’d make sure to repay all this humiliation.

Recently, a strange phenomenon began occurring in the Sixth Shelter:
A sudden increase in pregnant women.

When shelter leader Liu Jianjun first heard this, he believed it was a sign of hope for humanity’s future.

He began trading food grown in the shelter for more advanced medical equipment from other shelters to protect these pregnant women.

“These are the hope of the shelter’s future. We must protect them well.”

However, Liu Jianjun had no idea:

A terrifying disaster was quietly approaching the Sixth Shelter.

Not far from the Sixth Shelter, Yan Liuxing stood in the blizzard, eyes dark and eerie, staring at the shelter gates.

The corners of his lips curled up into a chilling smile.

“The parasites have already been scattered… Just waiting to absorb enough nutrients to finally burst forth.”

Behind him stood a group of hideous monsters—all different species, but all giving off an uncannily disturbing vibe.

“Won’t be long before the entire Sixth Shelter is mine.”

Though his previous base had been attacked and many host bodies rescued, Yan Liuxing had already planted parasitic seeds in those hosts long ago.

As long as he gave it enough time, once these creatures broke out from their hosts, they’d become his personal weapons.

Yan Liuxing’s talent was called Parasite Modification.

It allowed him to extract genetic material from certain creatures and then incubate horrifying monsters through parasitism.

The man-eating monsters were his first batch of creations—but they were a failure.
They only had basic instincts for feeding. While they obeyed him, they were useless in combat.

“The new generation is almost ready… I can’t wait to see what the Sixth Shelter looks like when it’s overrun. Enjoy your last peaceful moments—HAHAHAHA!”

His creepy laughter echoed through the blizzard, sending chills down the spine.

At that moment—

Su Ning entered the “Hell of the Dead” dungeon.

As soon as she arrived, that familiar stench of rotting zombies hit her again.

“Same old recipe,” Su Ning frowned.

But this time, the surrounding zombies barely reacted to her presence.

Su Ning felt like these zombies, perhaps due to the lack of players lately, had become eerily docile.

And since no one else was here to interfere, Su Ning now had access to an untapped world to freely explore and collect resources.

Just the thought made her smile.

This time, her entry point into the dungeon wasn’t the same as the original survival trial.

She looked around—she was now in a dense forest, trees towering around her.

The breeze carried a mix of earth and decay, and suddenly, the sky began to darken.

Su Ning looked up at the gloom overhead.

“Looks like it’s going to rain. I’d better find shelter.”

She quickly searched the area and spotted a tall tower in the distance.

As she approached, she realized the tower sat above a scrapyard, surrounded by piles of scrapped vehicles.

The scrapyard’s gate was chained shut, clearly meant to block zombie intrusion—but the place had long since fallen.

Su Ning entered, then summoned Unit 1 and the others to clean up any remaining zombies.

As she took shelter from the rain, a system notification suddenly rang in her ears:

[Ding! Detected dungeon “Hell of the Dead” has connected to World 123. World 123 has activated the Survival Game. Player Su Ning is not from World 123—no survival tasks will be issued.]

The light drizzle turned into a downpour, thunder rumbling through the skies.

Su Ning was stunned by the system’s sudden announcement.

“World 123 started the survival game? Wait—does this mean what I think it means? There are players… from other worlds?”

As she was still processing the shock, columns of light descended from the sky.

Yet, strangely, the zombies nearby did not react at all. They remained motionless.

Suddenly, within Su Ning’s field of vision, she saw a new player appear.

The light beam faded, and just as the figure materialized, the zombies instantly went berserk, like cats smelling blood.

Su Ning activated her Scavenger’s Eye and scanned the player.

[Player: Li Ming]
World: Planet 123
Talents:
Bubble Blower
Super Luck
  Skills:
Floating Bubble
Exploding Bubble

Li Ming was skinny, and looked only 12 or 13 years old.

His stats weren’t much different from Su Ning’s—except his profile included a “world” tag showing where he came from.

What really caught Su Ning’s attention were his two talents—especially the second one:

[Super Luck]: Immense luck. Able to escape all danger unharmed!

Su Ning stared, wide-eyed.

“This talent is insane! Escape all danger? Isn’t that basically a cheat?!”

She was also beginning to form an opinion about players from other worlds.

“So… parallel universes really do exist.”

Su Ning wasn’t too shocked though. After all, each dungeon was essentially its own world. It made sense that other “real” worlds existed too.

Still, this was the first time she had actually witnessed another world’s player in action.

“Quite the rare experience.”

Back in her field of view, Li Ming noticed the zombies closing in and prepared to fight back.

He tried to blow bubbles to activate his skills—but the rain instantly popped every one.

“Poor kid’s having the worst luck,” Su Ning muttered.

But just as she thought he was doomed, something bizarre happened.

One of the attacking zombies stepped on a stone, lost its balance, and toppled over.

As it fell, it grabbed another zombie, which pulled down yet another…

In a domino effect, a dozen zombies all collapsed in a chain reaction.

Su Ning blinked.

“So this… is the power of Super Luck—turning danger into safety?”
