Chapter 116: Rescue and Treasure Chest Opened!
Su Ning and Fu Qingge quickly headed toward their target location.
On the way, the two of them divided up their tasks.
Su Ning had the item [Absolute Sovereignty], and since she had witnessed the power of the three Mist Lords, she would be the one to control those terrifying entities.
Meanwhile, Fu Qingge, wearing the Thorn Crown, would activate the Thorn Barrier to rescue the people trapped inside.
Their division of labor was clear — each had their role. Once their responsibilities were assigned, they moved without hesitation toward the Qingsong Park Conservation Zone.
At the same time, elsewhere…
Fu Qingyao suddenly reappeared from her mysterious planting space. She looked around and saw no terrifying monsters nearby, and couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief.
“Phew… I actually escaped… and managed to save my life.”
She felt lucky.
“Sister Xi, I’m really sorry… If I ever get another chance, I’ll definitely apologize to you in person,” Fu Qingyao murmured, full of guilt.
But just as she finished speaking, her words seemed to trigger some mysterious force.
Suddenly, from the thick fog behind her, a giant net woven from mist sprang out and lunged at her with lightning speed.
Because Su Ning had previously escaped, the mist monsters were now clearly on guard against anyone attempting to use spatial escape again.
They quickly entangled Fu Qingyao in the net and attacked her without mercy, knocking her out cold.
In mere moments, Fu Qingyao was dragged into the dense fog, completely powerless to resist.
Elsewhere, Xi Chunyan was fully wrapped in a thick cocoon, with only her head exposed. Her heart was filled with intense fear and panic, as she witnessed a scene she would never forget:
A previously normal player was transformed into a grotesque and terrifying monster in the blink of an eye!
This horrific transformation left her utterly terrified.
“Help! Is anyone out there?! Fu Qingge, hurry up and come!” she cried out, desperate for rescue.
But no matter how long she waited, Fu Qingge didn’t appear — instead, it was Fu Qingyao, thrown beside her and unconscious, that came into view.
Xi Chunyan stared in disbelief.
“Wasn’t she hiding in her space? How did she get caught again?”
She felt furious and disappointed. Even with spatial abilities, Fu Qingyao still ended up like this — Xi Chunyan wanted to curse her out.
But a second thought crossed her mind:
“If she wakes up… maybe she can take me into the space and escape again!”
So she quickly called out,
“Yao Yao! Wake up!”
But it was no use — Fu Qingyao remained completely unconscious.
Just as Xi Chunyan tried to wake her again—
A giant hand suddenly reached down from the sky and grabbed several cocooned players.
Xi Chunyan was so terrified she didn’t even dare make a sound.
She knew exactly what this meant — those people would be transformed into monsters next.
She was afraid that she’d be next.
“Qingge, please, hurry!”
She pinned all her hopes on Fu Qingge.
And just as she wished…
A surge of cold air exploded from the distance, freezing the fog and splitting it with a sword of ice.
A majestic figure appeared before Xi Chunyan’s eyes.
“Qingge!!” Xi Chunyan cried out, tears of joy filling her eyes.
But as she saw the familiar and hated figure beside Fu Qingge, her emotions plummeted again.
“Why is she here with Fu Qingge?!”
It was Su Ning.
The two stormed in directly.
Su Ning figured Fu Qingge must have some trump card, or he wouldn’t have dared to rush in so boldly.
But she didn’t mind. She had her own mission.
The three Mist Lords had never imagined that the humans they saw as ants would dare storm their lair.
Suddenly, a deafening roar shook the skies.
The Mist Giant howled furiously, while the Mist Tree Lord began manipulating the surrounding trees.
The Mist Giant’s roar was so loud it woke up many unconscious players — though they were still confused, unsure what was going on.
“Qingge, I’m here!” Xi Chunyan screamed, trying to draw his attention.
Fu Qingge finally spotted the people he was here to rescue.
Su Ning, meanwhile, couldn’t see Tang Fanghua anywhere.
Her gaze fell upon the misty abyss beneath the Mist Tree, and she wondered:
“Could Tang Fanghua have already…?”
But there was no time to think.
Because at that moment, two Mist Lords launched their attack.
“Su Ning!” Fu Qingge shouted as he activated the Thorn Crown, triggering his defensive shield.
Su Ning understood immediately and raised her scepter to the sky.
“Absolute Command!”
A blinding beam of light shot from the scepter, enveloping the three Mist Lords, freezing them in place.
Not only that, but even the surrounding mist monsters were frozen by the light’s radiance.
“Now’s our chance!”
Although Absolute Sovereignty claimed it could control enemies in a certain range for 10–30 seconds, the Mist Lords would only be stunned for about 10 seconds.
The smaller monsters might be frozen for 30, but not the bosses.
Fu Qingge didn’t hesitate — he rushed to rescue Xi Chunyan and Fu Qingyao.
At the same time, Su Ning dashed straight toward the golden treasure chest.
Ten seconds was enough for her to grab the loot and escape.
Tang Fanghua was nowhere to be seen — Su Ning could only silently apologize in her heart.
“I wanted to save you… but now I can’t.”
She reached the chest in 3 seconds, opened it in 2 seconds — a life-or-death race against time.
Ding! Congratulations, player has obtained: Bloodline Pearl x1!
Ding! Congratulations, player has obtained: Mysterious Egg x1!
Ding! Congratulations, player has obtained: Dungeon Exit Key x1!
Ding! Congratulations, player has obtained: Skill Book – Lightning Storm!
Ding! Congratulations, player has obtained: Item Upgrade Card x1!
Su Ning didn’t have time to examine the loot.
In 2 seconds, she swept everything into her inventory and raced back toward Fu Qingge’s protective shield.
Meanwhile, Fu Qingyao had awakened and was using [Telepathy] to speak privately with Xi Chunyan.
“Sister Xi, I’m really sorry. I was so scared earlier… I didn’t mean to leave you behind. Please forgive me!”
Xi Chunyan didn’t scold her — but her eyes flickered with calculation.
“If you do one thing for me, I’ll forgive you.”
Fu Qingyao brightened.
“Of course! I’ll do it!”
She was eager to restore her image — even if it meant doing more than one thing.
They continued communicating mentally.
Fu Qingge arrived and, with a swing of his ice blade, slashed open the cocoons binding the two women.
“Come with me.”
As he spoke, Fu Qingge took out a spatial teleportation talisman.
Even though Su Ning’s Absolute Command had paralyzed the monsters, this was still the heart of their lair — she couldn’t control all of them.
Su Ning was already rushing toward Fu Qingge.
He activated the teleport talisman, having timed everything perfectly so she could arrive in time.
But just as Absolute Sovereignty’s control wore off, the three Mist Lords roared in fury.
Their terrifying aura crashed down on the party.
“Su Ning, hurry!” Fu Qingge shouted anxiously.
Xi Chunyan heard his concern and felt a flicker of displeasure.
But she no longer saw Su Ning as a threat or rival, because—
Just as Su Ning was about to enter the teleportation zone…
A mass of vines erupted from beneath her feet, instantly binding her tightly!
But — these weren’t from the Mist Tree.
They were from…
