Chapter 112: The Three Lords of the Mist!
On Fu Qingge’s side, a crisis was unfolding.
As he desperately fled from the swarm of Mistspawn monsters, no one could have predicted that Wang Shengyong and the others would relentlessly chase after them!
Fu Qingge had just managed to shake off the monster horde and thought he could finally breathe a sigh of relief — when suddenly, the unexpected happened:
Wang Shengyong launched a surprise attack on the group, striking directly at Fu Qingyao.
It turned out Wang Shengyong wasn’t after anything else — his true goal was the rare Planting Space that Fu Qingyao possessed.
That space had been gifted to Fu Qingyao by Fu Qingge, and relying on her brother’s powerful strength, she had naively believed that no matter how dangerous a situation they faced, he would always be able to protect her and get them through safely.
But as the saying goes, “You may know someone’s face, but not their heart.”
Fu Qingyao never imagined that human nature could be so treacherous.
At the same time, Fu Qingge himself had developed overconfidence due to his dual ice-type talents.
He didn’t expect that Li Lian’s Explosive Fireball would counter his ice powers so effectively.
If Fu Qingge had only been fighting Wang Shengyong and Li Lian alone, he might have eventually defeated them, even if it took some time.
But unfortunately, reality didn’t go his way. He not only had to face powerful enemies but also had to split his focus to protect the dead weight — his sister Fu Qingyao and their companion Xi Chunyan.
Because of this, he inevitably left openings in his defense during the intense battle.
In the end, he was hit and injured by one of the Explosive Fireballs.
Despite this, after a bitter struggle, Fu Qingge managed to eliminate Li Lian and the others, but his right arm was severely burned by fire.
Even injured, Fu Qingge still comforted his frightened sister, “It’s alright, don’t worry. I’m fine — I just need a bit of rest.”
Xi Chunyan was deeply worried and pulled Fu Qingyao aside, “Yaoyao, now’s not the time to cry — Qingge needs first aid and rest.”
Only then did Fu Qingyao stop her tears, “You’re right… I understand.”
As they were cleaning up the aftermath, Xi Chunyan found a monster egg in Wang Shengyong’s backpack — it was an egg of a Mist Skeleton.
She put it into her own pack — but that single action unknowingly triggered a much bigger crisis.
Meanwhile, Su Ning was starting to feel uneasy after Tang Fanghua had still not returned.
“Did something happen to her?” she muttered, worried.
Just as she was about to go out and look, she froze.
Her sharp senses detected something strange — the surrounding mist had thickened dramatically.
Originally, she and Tang Fanghua had chosen a region where the mist wasn’t too dense — but at some unknown point, the scenery around her had become completely shrouded, and visibility had dropped to less than ten meters.
The sudden change left Su Ning deeply alarmed.
“What’s going on…?”
And then — something even more terrifying happened.
A deep, rumbling roar echoed from the depths of the mist.
The sound was like that of an ancient behemoth awakening from a long slumber — reverberating endlessly, shaking the very air.
Su Ning didn’t hesitate — she immediately looked for a place to hide.
She could already sense countless mist monsters of various shapes and forms emerging from within the fog.
Like a tidal wave, they rushed past the shop she was hiding in.
Faced with this overwhelming force, Su Ning quickly activated her [Stealth] skill, significantly reducing her presence.
Thankfully, the monsters didn’t notice her.
But just as she exhaled in relief, the ground beneath her suddenly trembled violently.
A bone-chilling dread surged through her — a sensation like something massive and terrible was about to break free from underground.
She dared not move a muscle — then, through a small crack in her hiding spot, she saw it:
A gigantic foot made entirely of mist stepped down in front of the shop.
Su Ning’s pupils constricted.
Information about the entity instantly appeared before her eyes:
[Monster: Mist Giant (One of the Three Lords of the Mist)]
Talent: Mist Body —
Shared Vision — Can link to all Mistspawn it creates and see through their eyes.
Skills: Corrosive Fog, Giant’s Roar, Fear, Stomp, Mistspawn
Note: All Mistspawn are created using the Mist Giant’s skill.
Just seeing one foot gave Su Ning so much intel — she dared not move at all.
If she weren’t afraid that entering her Planting Space might alert the Mist Giant, she would’ve already fled there.
“One of the Three Lords of the Mist… That means there are two more monsters like this?”
The sheer size of the Mist Giant made her feel that even if Unit 1 used the Annihilator Gun, it might not do any damage at all.
It was unbelievable — even more so to realize that the Mistspawn were not independent monsters, but creations of the Mist Giant’s skill.
And with the Giant’s innate talent, it could maintain a shared connection with all its spawn.
That meant every Mistspawn was like an eye or ear of the Mist Giant — allowing it to monitor everything.
A cold shiver ran down Su Ning’s spine.
But one question gnawed at her, “Why is the Mist Giant passing through here…?”
What she saw next shocked her even more.
Trailing behind the Mist Giant were more mist monsters — and they were transporting captured humans.
From their attire, Su Ning could immediately tell: they were players.
“So that’s why we haven’t encountered other players… They’ve been captured?!”
As she looked closer at the unconscious prisoners, Su Ning saw a familiar face — it was Tang Fanghua.
“She didn’t return… because she was captured too!”
But this led to another mystery:
“If the monsters already captured them, why not just kill them?
Why take them alive?”
Cautiously, Su Ning began tailing the group from a distance, desperate to understand what the Lord of the Mist was planning.
Before long, she realized they were heading toward a very familiar area — and was stunned:
“Why are they going… there?”
It was none other than Pinewood Park Conservation Zone — the place where she had previously gathered Mistflowers.
As the Mist Giant approached, the surrounding mist parted slowly, as if it could sense its master’s presence.
What appeared before her next was something beyond imagination.
A towering tree shrouded in mist stood tall before her.
[Monster: Mist Tree (One of the Three Lords of the Mist)]
Talent: Mist Generation — Can create and control the mist within the “City of Mist.”
Skills: Fear Aura, Corrosive Fog, Seeding, Plant Control, Life Drain
Note: Can spread and control mist — but cannot move itself.
But that wasn’t all.
Beneath the massive tree, a black, well-like creature squirmed and pulsed — a churning mass.
Its info popped up too:
[Monster: Mist Abyss (One of the Three Lords of the Mist)]
Talent: Mist Conversion — Can turn any living being into a Mist-type creature.
Skills: Mist Conversion, Fear Aura
Note: Also known as the Mist Nest or the Mother of Mist — The true ruler of the Mist. Everything you’ve seen — from the Mist Giant, the Mist Tree, to all other Mist beings — were likely created by the Mother of Mist.
Upon reading this, Su Ning could hardly believe her eyes.
