Doomsday: Scavenging in a Survival Game – CH110

Lord of the Mist, Mistflower

Chapter 110: Lord of the Mist, Mistflower

Su Ning’s method of combat left Tang Fanghua completely stunned, awe-struck by what she had just witnessed.

She had never expected Su Ning to possess such a unique and extraordinary ability.

Although she had heard a bit about Su Ning from her younger brother — particularly that Su Ning had a talent for controlling poison — she never imagined that such an unappealing-seeming ability could be used so brilliantly and masterfully.

Not only beautiful — but also deadly.

On the battlefield, Su Ning moved like a ghost, weaving effortlessly through the mist, leaving behind a trail of toxic fog wherever she passed.

The colorful poison mist looked like a dreamlike dance — dazzling and mesmerizing, enchanting anyone who laid eyes on it.

Yet beneath that breathtaking beauty lay a deadly danger. One careless breath — and it could mean instant death.

Two of the Children of the Mist were taken out instantly.

Without hesitation, Su Ning and Tang Fanghua decided to flee.

They quickly distanced themselves from the battlefield and then paused to glance back—

What they saw shocked them: The group that had entered the stadium — Wang Shengyong’s team — was now running directly toward Fu Qingge and the others’ location. Even more alarming: A massive swarm of Children of the Mist was chasing after them like a tidal wave.

Su Ning squinted — and noticed something strange in the team led by Wang Shengyong.

Through the layers of mist, she caught a glimpse of a white object sticking out from one of the team member’s backpacks.

Looking closer, she was shocked to identify it as a crystal-clear monster egg!

[Monster: Mist Spider — Monster Egg]

Talent: Mist Body — Immune to physical attacks
Skills: Corrosive Fog, Web Spit

Warning: Every Mist Egg is a resource of the Mist Nest. The Lord of the Mist will never allow its offspring to be stolen.

It was a monster egg.

Ever since this dungeon had opened, many players had begun finding useful resources inside.

And among them, monster eggs were the most highly coveted.
Once a player formed a contract with one, the monster would never betray them, becoming a trusted and powerful companion — a dream for many in the real world.

Naturally, monster eggs were extremely rare and highly valuable.

Even Jiang Nana’s Little Fire Meow had once caused a stir at Shelter No. 6, making her afraid to even leave her home.

Su Ning now understood clearly why Wang Shengyong’s team was being ruthlessly hunted by so many Children of the Mist.

The monster data was clear:  The Lord of the Mist will never allow its offspring to be stolen.

“Xiao Ning, where should we go now?”

Surrounded by thick mist, it was impossible to tell direction. Tang Fanghua was a bit overwhelmed.

“Let’s find a place to rest first,” Su Ning said calmly.

She wanted to cool her head before deciding what to do next.

Tang Fanghua was surprised at how calm Su Ning remained.
She herself was feeling a bit nervous — her telekinesis talent, though powerful, consumed a lot of mental energy.

After that earlier battle, her head was pounding, and she felt dazed.

Luckily, Su Ning had already intended to find a safe place to rest and regroup.

Before long, the two of them located a clothing store. After checking it was safe, they stepped inside without hesitation.

As soon as she entered, Tang Fanghua collapsed onto the sofa, closed her eyes, and began to recover her strength and focus.

Su Ning, observing her, realized one of the drawbacks of Tang Fanghua’s ability — overuse leads to mental exhaustion.

After a brief rest, Tang Fanghua was the first to speak, breaking the silence, “Don’t you think this dungeon is… eerily quiet? So quiet it gives me the chills.”

In truth, Su Ning felt the same unease.

Not only that — she noticed that thick mist blanketed everything, creating perfect cover for monsters to lie in ambush.

Yet on their entire journey so far, aside from the one Child of the Mist taken down by Fu Qingge early on — and the batch that had chased Wang Shengyong — they hadn’t encountered any more monsters.

Even more interesting: Su Ning realized that the farther they moved from the city center, the thinner the mist became.

It was only now that she could roughly see the surrounding environment clearly.

“Could the density of the mist actually mean something?” she wondered.

Su Ning had long been skeptical about the dungeon entries that mentioned a ‘Mist Nest’ and a ‘Lord of the Mist.’

Tang Fanghua shared her thoughts, “The core of the mist must be connected to the monsters.  That monster Fu Qingge killed earlier didn’t have a ‘mist core,’ but it doesn’t mean others don’t.”

She sounded a bit regretful — earlier, they had to escape so quickly, they didn’t have time to search the monsters’ bodies.

Now that Tang Fanghua had recovered, Su Ning stood up, “Since you’re feeling better, I’m going to scout around nearby — check things out.”

“Be careful,” Tang Fanghua said — she didn’t stop her, because she had the same idea.

From the moment they entered this dungeon, their goal wasn’t just to survive the official quest — they also had to search for anything useful that could improve their future strength.

They agreed to meet back here shortly.

“Got it,” said Tang Fanghua.

Without hesitation, Su Ning turned and left.

Tang Fanghua quietly watched her figure disappear into the distance — and then, after a moment, headed in the opposite direction.

In truth, Su Ning knew that she and Tang Fanghua weren’t the only players inside the City of Mist.

But strangely, despite exploring for quite some time, she hadn’t come across any trace of others.

“Could it be because I’ve strayed too far from the mist’s core?” she wondered.

She thought maybe if she kept going away from the center, the oppressive mist might finally disappear.

Unfortunately, that hope was quickly shattered.

Ahead of her, an even thicker wall of mist was starting to form.

Su Ning stared at it in disbelief.

“Another zone with dense mist?”

And this one was even more terrifying than the mist in the city center.

It was spreading outward slowly but steadily, like a monstrous beast creeping across the land — silent, relentless, and devouring the world.

The thought made Su Ning’s skin crawl.

Just as she turned to leave, something caught her eye — an unusual plant.

Her eyes lit up. Finally — something strange and new.

[Monster: Mistflower]

Talent: Mist — Can produce a continuous stream of mist

Skill: Directional Confusion — Prolonged exposure to the mist causes people to lose their sense of direction

Su Ning stared at the plant — it looked just like an ordinary dandelion.

She had never imagined this was actually a monster.

A plant-type monster, at that — and one with no direct offensive abilities.

But its utility was something Su Ning had never considered.

Watching the thin mist drifting off its petals, she grew even more curious.

“Could it be… all the mist in the City of Mist comes from these Mistflowers?”
