Doomsday: Scavenging in a Survival Game – CH108

Leaving the Team

Chapter 108: Leaving the Team

Su Ning was speechless at how everything seemed so natural and taken for granted by Fu Qingge. Deep down, she started to doubt whether it was even the right decision to act alongside them.

Not only did Xi Chunyan harbor hostility toward her, but Fu Qingge himself seemed to be losing his grip — all because of his little sister.

To be honest, Su Ning was getting worried.
But at the moment, she couldn’t find a proper opportunity to leave the group.

Shortly after, Fu Qingge found a school sports field.

Su Ning remained alert, carefully observing the surroundings for any changes.

Before long, the group stepped onto the school’s athletic field.

It was Tang Fanghua who first broke the silence, “There’s definitely something off about this fog. We just don’t know what exactly yet — our exposure has been too brief.”

After speaking, she turned her gaze toward Su Ning, as if hoping she could provide some insight or suggestions.

Su Ning nodded slightly, expressing agreement with Tang Fanghua’s assessment.

In truth, beyond what she could observe with the naked eye, she had also activated her skill [Scavenger’s Eye] to examine the fog in detail. Unfortunately, the information she gathered was just as vague and elusive:

[Special Environment: Realm of Fog]: Fog-covered area.

All it confirmed was that they were currently within a unique environment.

The group wasn’t just unfamiliar with the fog — even the mission objective, the Heart of Fog, remained a complete mystery.

Still, there was a shared belief: the Heart of Fog was likely the core of the monsters in this instance.
It was just that the previous enemies they’d encountered — such as the Foglings — were probably too weak to have such cores.

They’d need to face stronger entities to test that theory.

While Su Ning and Tang Fanghua were thinking about how to complete the mission, on the other side, Fu Qingyao cheerfully found a spot and began pulling out food from her storage space.

“You need plenty of stamina to survive in a dungeon,” she chirped.

With her powerful older brother Fu Qingge at her side, Fu Qingyao didn’t feel any danger at all.
Even if she couldn’t complete the mission herself, she believed Fu Qingge would help her finish it.

At her side, Xi Chunyan also began helping Fu Qingyao prepare the food.

Fu Qingge was just about to invite Su Ning to join them — but then Fu Qingyao looked at Su Ning and suddenly spoke:

“I’m really sorry, I honestly didn’t expect you to be traveling with us — so I didn’t prepare this much food. You don’t mind, do you?”

Though her words sounded apologetic, her tone was full of provocation.

Su Ning remained completely unfazed — she even found it slightly amusing.

She simply lifted her backpack to show them, “I’ve got my own food.”

Su Ning was now very aware of the dislike and hostility coming from both Fu Qingyao and Xi Chunyan.

At first, she had been confused about why — But then she glanced at Fu Qingge standing nearby… and understood.

Her mouth twitched as she thought, “We’re in a life-and-death survival instance… and this is what you’re all focused on?”

The thought alone was enough to make her feel tired.

Fu Qingge, meanwhile, was stunned by what his sister had just said.

His expression froze slightly, and he furrowed his brows, his voice taking on a sterner tone, “Yaoyao, don’t say nonsense! I’ve clearly stocked plenty of food in this space — how could there not be enough?”

But Fu Qingyao, rather than backing down, stiffened her neck and retorted, “Well, there isn’t!”

Then she even shot him a glare, looking as if she’d suffered some huge injustice.

Fu Qingge could only sigh in helplessness.
After all, Fu Qingyao had been spoiled all her life, and even he had no good way of handling her tantrums.

The atmosphere suddenly became tense and awkward.

Xi Chunyan quickly stepped in to mediate, “Qingge, how can you scold Yaoyao like that? Maybe she just didn’t want to share precious food with outsiders.

Besides, Yaoyao might’ve been worried that adding another person would be a burden — so she wanted to save the best for you. After all, your strength is extraordinary, so you naturally need more energy than the rest of us.”

“Outsider?” “Burden?”

Hearing that, Su Ning actually laughed.

So, was her kindness now being interpreted as weakness?

Being polite didn’t mean she was easy to bully.

Su Ning cut in coldly and without hesitation:

“If you two have a problem with me, just say it directly. We’re all adults here — no need to beat around the bush.”

Then she turned her gaze directly to Xi Chunyan, her tone even more dismissive:

“As for your concerns, Miss Xi — honestly, I think you’re overthinking things.

I’ve only met Fu Qingge twice. We’re not even friends, let alone anything else.”

Her blunt words caused Xi Chunyan to freeze awkwardly.

And Fu Qingyao, standing nearby, sneered, “You say that nicely, don’t you?”

Su Ning took a deep breath, trying to stay calm.

“What now? Did I run into a bunch of lunatics?  Should I teach this brat a lesson so she grows a brain?”

She was seriously considering it — When Fu Qingge suddenly snapped, “Yaoyao, that’s enough. Apologize to Miss Su. Now.”

“I won’t!”

Fu Qingyao saw that her brother was actually yelling at her over an outsider — and burst into tears, throwing herself into Xi Chunyan’s arms.

Fu Qingge stood there awkwardly, unsure of what to do.

Xi Chunyan glared at Su Ning, blaming her for everything.

“If she hadn’t shown up, none of this would’ve happened.”
Su Ning: “???”

Fu Qingge looked toward Su Ning, about to apologize on his sister’s behalf — But before he could speak, Su Ning raised a hand, stopping him.

She took the opportunity and spoke sharply, “Mr. Fu, to be honest, we were never that close. Since your sister and Miss Xi clearly have such strong opinions about me, and to avoid any further conflict — I think it’s best we part ways now.”

She turned around and walked off immediately, not giving Fu Qingge any chance to object.

Tang Fanghua, who had been silently watching the drama unfold, chuckled inwardly.

She simply shook her head — then began packing up her things as well, clearly intending to leave too.

Xi Chunyan, surprised, asked, “Sister Tang, what are you doing?”

Tang Fanghua replied directly, “Well, I suppose I’m just another outsider. I wouldn’t want to impose.”

Her words left Xi Chunyan completely speechless.

She had only meant to target Su Ning, but somehow ended up offending Tang Fanghua as well.

She had originally hoped to get closer to the Tang family of Shelter No. 3 — But now she’d likely ruined that opportunity completely. She felt deep regret, wishing she could just disappear.

Tang Fanghua walked up to Su Ning.

“Mind if I tag along?”

Su Ning responded calmly, “Suit yourself. Plenty of room here.”

The two women exchanged a look — and then shared a knowing smile.

Just then, as the tense atmosphere still hung in the air, a group of players entered the stadium.

They were in a panic, clearly injured, their movements hurried and chaotic — clearly fleeing from monsters and seeking shelter.

Su Ning and Tang Fanghua immediately turned their alert eyes toward the new arrivals.
