Chapter 143: Bullet Comments
Gu Qinghuan lay back on the sofa. It was the first time she felt so empathetic toward an entertainer.
Gu Haiyan, sitting beside her watching the show, tried to stifle a laugh while patting Gu Qinghuan’s head. “Don’t take it to heart. You did great.”
In the group chat, Yu Xin and Bao Qingsong had already started instructing everyone to monitor public opinion. One class watching several public platforms wasn’t a problem.
The audience’s reaction was generally positive. Some thought Le Yi’s “I’ll test you” attitude was a bit harsh, but since Gu Qinghuan herself had said it on the show, it was already set in stone—bringing it up again was pointless.
Early on, Le Yi’s group had more screen time. If things moved too fast, the other teams would still be wandering around looking for people. Gu Qinghuan and Le Yi had already finalized the script, and the rest was just finding people.
Everyone in the class chat took screenshots or copied viewers’ comments one by one.
Bao Qingsong: “I’m wondering, I didn’t even play it at double speed?”
Bao Qingsong: “What double speed, even ten times speed isn’t this fast.”
Bao Qingsong: “Thanks to sister for leading us, Wing!”
Bao Qingsong: “Who understands the real value of ‘giving this character true life’?”
Bao Qingsong: “Can I borrow your mouth for two days, sister?”
Bao Qingsong: “I feel terrifyingly strong right now!”
Xie Xiangxue: “Bao Qingsong, your hands are so fast! I’m still screenshotting and you’ve already posted!”
Ming Xiaolan: “This one’s so funny. She said we must protect the class president’s mental health. If she goes bad, the whole school will be done for.”
Qin Yue: “Whether the whole school will be done, I don’t know. Our class is already a big force anyway.”
Yu Xin: “You actually got Yu Yuan to play a minor role?”
Gu Qinghuan: “Yeah, seemed fitting.”
Yu Xin: “I was wondering why her mother called her to her room tonight—probably to remind her to pay attention to certain things.”
Because of the early fast results, later screen time was limited. After all, Le Yi’s group spent most of the time discussing the script—getting two camera shots was already good.
However, the takeout ordering scene was quite charming.
[Working adult sees this scene after work and feels healed, such a lively little one!]
[That’s forty bucks! Forty bucks in meal allowance! Who cares about image!]
[Burger and milk tea here, salad there, a dieter is at a loss.]
[This sister is cute too, she even calls it taro balls! Let’s go get taro milk tea!]
[Why not mention the other sister? Is it because the top student aura is too dazzling? (No offense meant about top student sister, I won’t do abstract stuff again.JPG)]
[This team is full of talent—study skills, talents, and charisma.]
[So all this YY is unnecessary.]
[Saying YY is unnecessary? Look at YWY’s group—that’s truly excessive.]
Class 3 was enjoying Bao Qingsong forwarding the comments. One particular comment caught their attention: it appeared!
Yu Xin immediately instructed: “Everyone, get ready. Collect comments about Ye Weiyu. Entertainment companies probably have more experience—they may have planted fake fans or deleted comments. Screenshot and save them first!”
Everyone responded in unison: “Got it!”
Early on, Le Yi’s group had more screen time, but the other three groups weren’t completely absent.
However, for continuity, the director didn’t edit strictly by timeline, trying instead to keep each team’s scenes together.
By now, Le Yi’s group’s storyline was mostly done. Unexpectedly, it wasn’t Lou Cheng’s turn—it was Ye Weiyu’s.
But Ye Weiyu’s part progressed much more quietly—not spectacular, but not boring either.
Many real-time bullet comments discussed Le Yi’s group, or expressed anticipation for Bai Qingyin and Lou Cheng’s group.
This angered Ye Weiyu’s fans, who replied defensively: “This is Xiaoyu’s stage now. Mentioning other teams—is that to provoke your own master?”
Casual viewers were confused: “Master? What master? This is a publicly broadcast high school variety show, and now we have to watch fan groups fighting?”
Tempers flared, and the bullet comments and comment section became chaotic.
Qin Yue: “But it seems no one is discussing you, Chuchu.”
Ming Xiaolan: “A few comments did mention the disciplinary committee might have influence, but without traction, they quickly sank.”
Xie Xiangxue: “Even Yan Zhengqing didn’t get much attention—everyone’s focused on the Ye Weiyu fan wars.”
Bao Qingsong: “I saw many people bringing up Ye Weiyu’s past scandals while arguing with fans. Should we record them?”
Jiang Chuchu: “Xin Bao, you decide.”
Yu Xin thought for a moment, then replied in the chat: “No, we’re not targeting him. What we want is to reveal his dealings with Jinding. Right now, collecting comments is mainly to understand public opinion.”
In short, Class 3 was collecting reasons why “people don’t want to see Ye Weiyu.” This way, Jiang Chuchu could guide Ye Weiyu later to create more annoying screen moments.
If Class 3 obsessed over entertainment scandals, it would lead them astray, dragged into fan circle logic, putting themselves at a disadvantage.
Yu Xin: “Just glance at those scandals as gossip. Stick to our original plan.”
Jiang Chuchu felt reassured, seeing the team gradually grow—amazing!
Gu Qinghuan: “Let me add: now that the official team wants Ye Weiyu to replace Lou Cheng, these scandals are being monitored too.”
Yu Xin: “Exactly. We can’t verify them ourselves, so let’s follow our own pace.”
The students understood and confirmed in the group, then continued recording.
Once Ye Weiyu’s segment ended, the bullet comments and comment section calmed considerably. Next to appear was Lou Cheng.
While organizing the intelligence they just collected, they also discussed and followed the rest of the program.
Gu Qinghuan never expected Lou Cheng to start by asking who was top of the grade. After getting the list from the principal, she went directly to find the person.
For the first-year students, it was Su Lin, who refused her invitation, giving the simple reason: no time.
Lou Cheng had the most fans and was backed by Jinding’s team, so her followers were much more experienced than Ye Weiyu’s.
Seeing signs of criticism toward Su Lin in the comment section, Yu Xin discussed with everyone and decided to call her: “Su Lin, we think letting the current comments slide isn’t great. Can we help guide them a bit?”
Su Lin was momentarily stunned: “Why help me?”
Yu Xin replied: “Because you’re not what those people are saying. We want to help.”
Thanks to Su Lin’s guidance, the team knew she wasn’t aloof or arrogant. If she was genuinely a good person, why not help her?
Su Lin held her slightly worn phone and was momentarily speechless.
Yu Xin and Class 3 were considerate, thinking from her perspective and showing goodwill.
“Thank you,” Su Lin said softly. “If I don’t cause trouble for you, then please help.”
Yu Xin sent a “Leave it to me” sticker.
Yu Xin: “Let’s start!”
