What surprised her more was Chang Run’s attitude. At this moment, he treated her with unusual warmth, as if he felt indebted to her for the favor during the property sale in Hucheng.

Chang Run shook his head. “Although Cheng Yu didn’t say it outright, I’ve heard about the Cheng family’s situation. I can even guess who’s backing them—most likely the one who forced me to flee far away. Why would I agree to their terms?”
Xu Youyou was stunned. “The Red Dragon King’s influence extends that far?”

A pound of each of the five grains… Xu Youyou thought of the phrase bountiful harvest.
She found the story incredibly legendary—clearly fantastical, yet giving off a sense of righteousness. The original owner strictly followed his principles, and even after taking over, Chang Qi (the uncle) never forgot the promise, keeping it in mind even while in seclusion.
“In a way, Miss Xu, you helped my uncle fulfill his longstanding wish. Otherwise, he would have regretted not completing this task all these years,” Chang Run said with a smile.
Xu Youyou didn’t feel worthy of such praise and, blushing with guilt, said, “I owe you another big favor.”
Chang Run simply smiled and shook his head, refusing to accept the favor.
When Xu Youyou left Fengyue Street, it was already midnight. The tense string in her heart finally relaxed.
Even Liu Xiangyi, usually oblivious, noticed the change in her mood. “Boss, you seem especially happy?”
“Congratulations, Liu! You guessed right!” Xu Youyou said with a smile.
Liu Xiangyi beamed with happiness too.
