Chapter 110: I’m 1.87 Meters Tall
From her high vantage point, Chi Qian scanned the area but still couldn’t see Shen Jiashu.
She did, however, spot him near the maze’s entrance— being held captive by a masked man in black, clearly up to no good.
The boy struggled, only to be struck across the face.
Chi Qian tore a ruby the size of a pigeon’s egg from the wall, drew back her arm like a bowstring, and hurled it with force.
Whizz—
The gem shot like a meteor and struck the man square in the forehead.
With a roar of pain, he released Shen Jiashu and collapsed.
“Thank you, Witch Princess!!” Shen Jiashu cheered, waving both arms.
“Pick up that gem!” Chi Qian hollered back. “It’s worth a fortune!!”
“Got it!!”
But suddenly, Chi Fengxiao’s shout thundered from below: “Baby Qian, behind you!!”
She spun around.
Another masked man stood a few steps away, gun raised. His voice was harsh as he barked: “Hands up, or I’ll blow your head off!”
Chi Qian obediently raised her hands. “Big bro, you’re so handsome and charming, clearly a good man. I’m just a kid—please let me go.”
“Even if you were a baby, I wouldn’t let you go!” He sneered, stepping closer.
“Well, okay then.” Chi Qian tilted her head. “I like singing. Since I’m about to die, can I at least sing once more?”
“Tch, such a pain! Fine, hurry up and sing. But if you try any tricks, you’re dead on the spot.”
“Thank you, big bro.”
Chi Qian opened her mouth.
“This is—”
“Qinghai–Tibet Plateau—waaahooo!!”
Everyone froze.
The man, the livestream viewers, even Chi Fengxiao and the others below—all broke down instantly.
[Help me!! Why didn’t anyone warn me Chi Qian’s singing is this terrifying?!]
[She even adds vibrato… someone knock me unconscious please!]
[Her voice is so cute when she talks, so why does her singing sound like a sonic bomb?!]
[I’ll need my entire life to recover from those two seconds (staring blankly).]
Forget the fans—even the masked man cracked.
It was so horrendously off-key it was soul-crushing. His eardrums throbbed, his hands shook, and he nearly dropped his gun.
Clutching his ears, he bent down in pain—
That’s when Chi Qian struck, slamming her elbow into his neck!
“Ahhh!!”
The man screamed, eyes rolling back before he fell unconscious.
Chi Qian snatched his gun and tucked it into the back of her waistband, just as the sound of helicopter blades thundered closer.
“Get down!” A cool, magnetic voice called from above.
Chi Qian instantly ducked.
Chi Yanliu narrowed his eyes and pulled the trigger.
A bullet whizzed past just above Chi Qian’s head and struck a sniper hidden in the distance.
At nearly a hundred meters, the sniper dropped on the spot.
Several more shots rang out, taking down the terrorists hidden nearby. Then Chi Yanliu leapt from the helicopter.
“Where are the others?” he asked as he strode over.
Chi Qian pointed toward the maze below. “There.”
“Baby Qian, are you alright?!” Chi Fengxiao shouted from below.
“Uncle, I’m fine!” Chi Qian waved down at him from the top of the wall. “Wait for me, I’ll come right down!”
She rolled up her sleeves, preparing to climb down—
But a firm hand grabbed her collar from behind.
“This is ten meters high. You climb down, you’ll only be climbing to your death,” Chi Yanliu said coldly.
Chi Fengxiao called up, “Find the stairs. If you dare try anything reckless, I’ll throw away all your chocolate!!”
Chi Qian instantly retracted her leg from the wall’s edge, shouting down, “I was just kidding! I wasn’t really gonna climb!”
Chi Fengxiao: “……” Don’t I know you by now?
[There’s no way this is fake. And that gunfight earlier… has the production team even checked on the guests’ safety?]
[Relax, I heard the military has already been dispatched.]
[Am I the only one thinking this castle doesn’t look like a set? What if all this gold is real?]
[Sister Qian’s about to strike it rich again!]
Whether or not riches were coming, one thing was certain—it was hot.
Her sunhat was gone, and the sun blazed down mercilessly.
So… Chi Qian set her sights on the unconscious terrorist.
When Chi Yanliu turned back from finishing a phone call, he was nearly startled into pulling the trigger.
Chi Qian stood there with a black hood over her head—
Only her eyes showing.
If not for her very recognizable height, he would’ve shot her on instinct.
After a long pause, Chi Yanliu asked, “Why are you wearing that?”
“For sun protection.” Chi Qian adjusted the hood. “Actually, it’s pretty useful. Want me to grab one for you too?”
“…No.”
The last thing he needed was the rescue team mistaking him for a terrorist and shooting him.
The inside of the castle was extravagantly luxurious.
Every brick was solid gold.
The wall lamps were luminous pearls.
The bonsai plants were made of red coral.
Even the pebble paths were carved from gemstones.
Chi Qian glanced left and right, nearly dizzy from the suffocating scent of money.
Not hearing her footsteps, Chi Yanliu turned—
And found her scrambling on the roof, prying loose the largest jewel embedded there.
“How did you get up there?” he asked.
“The power of money gave me courage and drive—it sent me up here,” Chi Qian answered, hugging the gemstone possessively.
Chi Yanliu’s mouth twitched. So Father had never warned him… this girl wasn’t exactly normal.
“Hurry down. I don’t have time to wait.”
Chi Qian stuffed the gem into her backpack and hopped to the ground.
They entered the castle’s interior, following a stairway downward. When they pushed open the door at the bottom, it didn’t lead back into the maze—
But to a wide, emerald-green lake.
A chain of floating stone slabs stretched across it, each one spaced rather far apart.
Chi Yanliu stepped onto the first slab, then looked back. “Follow me.”
Chi Qian stood rooted, her hooded face betraying clear exasperation.
The two stared at each other.
Finally, Chi Yanliu frowned. “What is it?”
“Do you realize the emotional damage you just dealt me by taking that step?” Chi Qian demanded.
[Hahahaha she can’t make the jump!!]
[Hooded Sister Qian: Someday, my legs will grow taller than you all!]
[Stop laughing, guys! She’s already pitiful enough! Show some compassion hahahahaha]
Chi Yanliu looked at the little brat who barely reached his chest.
Then at her short legs.
Tch.
He walked back, crouched with his back to her. “Get on.”
“You’re gonna carry me?”
“Mm. If we go by your legs, we’ll be here all day.”
“…Are you saying I’m short?”
He didn’t answer, but his look said, Do I really need to spell it out?
Chi Qian scowled. “I’m not short! I’m one meter eighty-seven!”
Chi Yanliu gave her a long look. “You sure you’re not lying?”
“Of course. I’m 1XX cm, plus 3 points of indifference, 3 points of mockery, 4 points of nonchalance, and 30 points of confidence. How is that not 1.87 meters?” Chi Qian said with absolute conviction.
Chi Yanliu nearly burst out laughing but held it back with sheer discipline.
This little thing was short, but her ego was sky-high.
One meter eighty-seven, huh.
To him, she looked more like a squat desert cactus.
Carrying Chi Qian, he crossed the lake.
But when they reached the maze’s entrance, the sight before them made them freeze.
Several masked men were pointing guns at Chi Fengxiao and the others. At the sound of footsteps, they turned.
The leader pointed at Chi Qian. “Where the hell did you run off to? Seen anyone else? Get over here!”
Chi Qian: “?”
