Chapter 114: Organizing the Planting Space and Powering Up Honghong
At this moment, Xi Chunyan’s heart was like a bottle of five flavors—bitter, sweet, sour, spicy, and salty—all spilling at once. Her emotions were a tangled mess.
She could never have imagined that Fu Qingyao, the girl she had always loved like a little sister, would abandon her so cruelly.
A surge of hatred rushed up—not just toward Fu Qingyao, but it quickly extended to Su Ning as well.
If Su Ning had known about this, she would’ve been utterly confused, “Huh?? Wait a minute, big sis, how is this my fault?! She didn’t save you—what does that have to do with me? Why am I getting blamed?!”
But by now, Xi Chunyan had already gone mad, ready to bite anyone who crossed her path.
And so, she was forcefully dragged into the lair of the Lord of the Mist.
Meanwhile, Su Ning, having returned to her personal space, began to reflect.
She realized that hiding in the space indefinitely was not a long-term solution.
If the mission wasn’t completed, she wouldn’t be able to leave the instance anyway.
After some time, Su Ning decided to have Honghong release a few Emerald Bees to scout the surrounding area.
But it wasn’t long before some bad news came back: there were quite a few mist monsters nearby.
Su Ning sighed helplessly, “Looks like I’ll have to stay in this space for a while longer.”
Right now, Su Ning felt absolutely exhausted.
The [City of Fog] instance had been an overwhelming experience—especially encountering confusing and hard-to-read people like Xi Chunyan and Fu Qingyao, which left her emotionally drained.
Since she was back in the space, Su Ning decided to treat herself to a hearty meal.
She had a craving for braised noodles, so she asked No. 5 to make her a steaming, fragrant pot of it—and she started digging in happily.
After the satisfying meal, her Meat Chickens suddenly started chirping loudly, grabbing her attention.
Su Ning walked over to the fenced-in farm.
Originally, she only had three meat chickens. But thanks to her [Breeder] title accelerating their growth, and with one male and two females, they had now produced dozens of chicks!
“Looks like I’m on my way to becoming a chicken mogul,” Su Ning joked to herself.
Still, the thought of having a steady supply of fresh chicken meat in the future made her genuinely happy. She told Ganggang to look after them well—after all, these were top-tier ingredients for future meals.
The Meat Chickens: Why do we feel a sudden chill…
Elsewhere in the space, the Silky Spider eggs Su Ning had obtained from He Wentao had finally hatched a couple of days ago.
She hadn’t expected the black egg sacs to give birth to white spiders, nor did she expect Silky Spiders to be entirely white.
Su Ning gave them a giant tree to live on and grow.
Although newly hatched, thanks to the [Breeder] title, they grew rapidly—reaching the size of her palm in just two days.
Their soft white fur actually made them look quite adorable.
But Su Ning clearly remembered: as adults, they could grow up to two or three meters in size!
That thought gave her an instant headache.
Her planting space was already packed with materials, crops, and livestock. Adding such a huge creature would be a logistical nightmare.
Two or three Silky Spiders might be manageable, but considering their size, she had to face the reality: space was running out.
So, Su Ning began searching for another solution.
To solve the limited-space issue, she planted a large tree in the only open spot left in the livestock area.
This tree, tall and expansive, resembled a giant umbrella, covering much of the planting space.
Su Ning cleverly divided up the tree’s previously empty canopy.
As a result, not only did the Silky Spiders get a place to settle, but even the Meat Chickens built cozy nests on the branches.
Below the tree, the newly hatched chicks ran around chirping endlessly.
This massive tree was truly impressive. Su Ning even had Ganggang build a small, charming treehouse within the canopy.
The treehouse, nestled like a hidden base in the forest, allowed Su Ning to enjoy the fantasy of tree camping.
Thanks to Ganggang’s help, the entire space remained not only organized, but also full of life and vitality.
At that moment, Su Ning walked lightly toward the planting area.
She took out several unused flowerpots from the planting shelves and retrieved Mist Flowers she’d previously gathered from her scavenger bag.
The moment Mist Flowers were taken out, they began to release a thin mist—though the amount was minimal.
Su Ning observed that the mist produced by these flowers was mostly water vapor, “No need to plant too many in here. Just a few to enhance the atmosphere.”
She transplanted ten pots of Mist Flowers. Thanks to them, her planting space now looked like it had a dreamy special effect, even more mystical than before.
Because Ganggang handled most of the work, Su Ning didn’t have to worry about much.
Afterward, she lay down on her bed, thinking about how to proceed with the mission.
“Ugh… whatever. I’ll sleep first.”
Su Ning spent a day resting in the space. When she woke up, she had Honghong release more Emerald Bees to scout the area again.
Apparently, since no one had seen her for a while, the monsters had moved on—the surroundings were now clear of Mist Monsters.
Upon learning this, Su Ning instantly exited the space in a flash of light—still returning to the same location. But this time, she brought along No. 2.
The moment No. 2 appeared, it began digging rapidly, taking Su Ning underground to escape.
As Su Ning emerged from the space, she took a quick glance at the Qingsong Park they had previously visited.
Once again, it was shrouded in thick mist, completely obscuring the Lord of the Mist’s presence.
The terrifying scene from before had vanished, but Su Ning didn’t linger. She felt like the surrounding mist might actually be the eyes of the monsters.
Sure enough, not long after Su Ning left, bizarre, grotesque monsters began emerging from the fog one after another.
But Su Ning was already gone without a trace, like she had evaporated into thin air.
Right now, she was facing a major challenge:
How to collect the Hearts of Mist?
So far, she had only completed 1% of the mission—just a single Heart of Mist.
There were still 99 more to go.
“Ugh, this is so frustrating. I’d better scout the surroundings again and see if there are more Mist Monsters nearby.”
Su Ning was helpless. These creatures had bodies made of fog or vapor, making them immune to regular physical attacks.
So, she made a quick decision: summon Honghong and use this as an opportunity to train it properly.
Keeping Honghong hidden in the space all the time wasn’t a real solution. It needed real combat experience to improve its fighting skills.
And besides, Honghong’s electric attacks were extremely effective against fog creatures.
Because Mist Monsters were made of vapor—essentially liquid—electricity was their natural enemy!
That gave Su Ning even more reason to power up Honghong.
So, she wandered the area, hunting down lone Mist Monsters to collect Hearts of Mist, while also training and boosting Honghong’s combat ability.
After several battles, Su Ning began to understand the pattern of the instance:
When the mist thickened to a certain density, stronger Mist Monsters would appear within it.
After two full days of fighting, Su Ning had managed to gather over 20 Hearts of Mist.
But she was still far from completing the mission.
And just when she was about to head toward another area of heavy fog, she ran into someone she really didn’t want to see.
