Chapter 109: Explosive Fireball, Chemical Reaction
Wang Shengyong and his team took refuge inside the stadium.
He hadn’t expected anyone to already be there, and a wave of wariness rose in his heart.
However, once he saw the scene clearly, his tension eased a bit — because most of the people inside were women.
Although his team wasn’t small, they had several strong male players. Compared to the others, they clearly had the upper hand.
If trouble did arise, their group could easily overpower the other side.
So he walked directly over to Fu Qingge and said, “Brother, we ran into a bit of trouble — mind if we rest here for a while?”
He was deliberately downplaying the fact that they’d been attacked by a swarm of monsters.
Fu Qingge shook his head. The stadium was spacious enough, after all.
“Go ahead.”
Wang Shengyong turned to glance at his team, brows furrowed.
The monsters in this dungeon were strangely immune to physical attacks, which had put their team at a serious disadvantage.
If it hadn’t been for one of their members who had a fireball-based ability, their entire squad might have been wiped out.
At the same time, Su Ning’s gaze swept over the group.
[Player: Wang Shengyong]
Talent: Steel Fist
Skill: Flurry Punch
There were 10 people in his team. Two were visibly injured — clearly victims of a monster attack.
Su Ning, already aware that the monsters in this dungeon were immune to physical damage, immediately deduced:
“If they escaped alive, they must have someone who can use energy-based attacks.”
Sure enough, she soon spotted the one she was looking for:
[Player: Li Lian]
Talent: Fireball
Skill: Explosive Fireball — the fireball has an explosive effect
Li Lian noticed there were many women in the stadium. He walked up to Wang Shengyong and spoke with a sly tone, “Captain, in my opinion, why don’t we just take them down? Look at them — they seem pretty well-stocked with supplies.”
As he spoke, he winked at Wang Shengyong, motioning toward Fu Qingyao’s direction.
Sure enough, Fu Qingyao had a large pile of food at her side — supplies she’d just taken out from her Planting Space.
Wang Shengyong’s eyes darkened, and he lowered his voice, “It’s not the right time yet. Bao Yin and Cao Xun are both seriously injured. Plus, we don’t know anything about their strength. Acting rashly could lead to unexpected consequences.”
But Li Lian wasn’t having it. He brushed off the warning, “What’s there to be afraid of? They’re only five people — and only one of them is a man. We’ve got the numbers. Taking them down would be a piece of cake.”
As he spoke, a malicious grin slowly crept across his face.
Wang Shengyong saw the look and immediately realized:
This guy wasn’t just interested in loot.
With that in mind, he gave a half-smile and said, “Be patient for now.”
But Li Lian was getting restless, still pressing, “Come on, boss. We haven’t had meat in ages — how much longer do you expect us to wait? And these four women? Each of them’s got their own charm… Heh… You really okay letting this chance slip?”
At that moment, Tang Fanghua leaned close to Su Ning and whispered, “Xiao Ning, be careful around these people.”
Su Ning looked up at her and gave a slight smile, “I know. No need to worry.”
Tang Fanghua blinked, a bit surprised by her calmness.
She had expected Su Ning to be scared — not this unbothered.
But thinking about it more, it made sense: Su Ning had always been alone. If she hadn’t learned to stay calm in danger, she’d have been devoured long ago.
Meanwhile, Fu Qingge also sensed that something was off.
He finally realized he might have just invited a pack of wolves into the house.
Still, he had confidence in his strength — he could handle them if necessary.
Xi Chunyan moved closer to Fu Qingyao protectively.
The atmosphere in the stadium became tense and silent with the arrival of Wang Shengyong’s group.
Just as Li Lian and the others were about to make a move—
A harsh, tooth-grinding screech suddenly echoed from above the stadium.
“What’s that sound?!”
Su Ning immediately looked up—
And saw clusters of white fog-like blobs hanging upside down from the stadium ceiling.
[Monster: Child of the Mist]
Wang Shengyong’s expression changed dramatically, “Monsters?! How did they follow us all the way here?”
Li Lian cursed, “Damn it — they must’ve trailed us inside!”
The Children of the Mist let out a shrill screech — then rapidly descended, heading straight for Wang Shengyong’s group.
Su Ning instantly stood up.
Because it wasn’t just one — it was a swarm!
Battle was inevitable.
Fu Qingge quickly grabbed Fu Qingyao and Xi Chunyan:
“Let’s move!”
“My things!” Fu Qingyao shouted.
But with a wave of her hand, all the supplies she’d laid out vanished instantly — stored back into her Planting Space.
Wang Shengyong caught the moment out of the corner of his eye — and his heart trembled.
Until now, he had been hesitant about whether to make a move.
But now that he had confirmed Fu Qingyao had a spatial-type ability, his desire to seize it for himself was sealed.
Still, the priority right now was survival.
“Let’s use this chance to escape,” Tang Fanghua whispered.
Su Ning nodded, and the two of them bolted out of the stadium.
While fleeing, Su Ning noticed:
The Children of the Mist were mainly targeting Wang Shengyong’s team.
Fu Qingge also wanted to leave.
But just as he was about to follow Su Ning and Tang Fanghua— Xi Chunyan suddenly grabbed his arm and pulled him toward another direction:
“Qingge, this way!”
Even Fu Qingyao motioned for him to take a different path.
Left with no choice, Fu Qingge could only follow their lead.
Su Ning, meanwhile, didn’t care what Fu Qingge was doing — She and Tang Fanghua sprinted full speed out of the stadium.
Although most of the monsters were attacking Wang Shengyong’s team, two of them chased after Su Ning and Tang Fanghua.
The two women exchanged a glance — and each went after one of the monsters.
Su Ning also finally saw what “Telekinetic Blast” really looked like.
Tang Fanghua’s eyes sharpened — then suddenly—A purple wave of energy burst forward like lightning, screaming through the air and slamming into the Child of the Mist!
“BOOM!”
The creature was instantly blown apart, unable to withstand the force.
Meanwhile, Su Ning’s approach was much more direct and brutal.
She didn’t hesitate to unleash her skill — Scavenger’s Venom — which now had the added ability of Virus Fog from the Rat King.
Su Ning parted her lips slightly, and a grayish-white toxic mist shot from her mouth like a living serpent.
The fog weaved through the air and wrapped itself around the Child of the Mist.
Then — something terrifying happened.
The monster’s fog-like body reacted violently with Su Ning’s toxic mist.
Like a chemical reaction, its body began to melt and corrode as if drenched in acid, quickly turning black.
The monster let out a shrill, bone-chilling scream, then dissolved into nothing.
