Chapter 6: Dumbfounded—The Rabbit Is Drinking Human Blood
Nan Xun backed away step by step, thinking she was done for. From the looks of it, Qin Yuexuan had flown into a rage out of humiliation.
“Little Eight, Little Eight, say something already! Even if I know taekwondo and sanda, this world is ridiculously unfair—I can’t beat him at all! I don’t want to die the moment I arrive in this world!” Nan Xun called out for a long time, but the Void Beast gave no response.
“Cousin, let’s talk this out,” Nan Xun said with a dry laugh, trying to placate him.
Qin Yuexuan curled the corner of his lips, his tone incomparably gentle. “Cousin, I want you. Once we’ve slept together, you won’t be thinking about going back anymore.”
Nan Xun cursed inwardly. Who would’ve thought this dignified-looking Qin Yuexuan was actually a beast in human clothing!
Nan Xun turned and bolted, not forgetting to grab the long-eared rabbit as she ran.
But how could she possibly be his match? On the Silver River Continent, cultivators are ranked from low to high as: Xuan Disciple, Xuan Adept, Xuan Master, Xuan General, Xuan King, Xuan Emperor, Xuan Sovereign, and Xuan Sage.
Each rank is further divided into low, mid, high, and peak high levels.
Qin Yuexuan had already become a beginner-level Grand Xuan Master at a young age—far beyond what a newbie like Nan Xun could handle.
The man behind her pounced and knocked her to the ground. Just as one of his hands was about to reach under her skirt, the long-eared rabbit in Nan Xun’s arms suddenly shot out with a whoosh.
The rabbit flew straight onto Qin Yuexuan’s shoulder. Its mouth opened, and a pair of sharp incisors plunged into Qin Yuexuan’s flesh.
Gulp. Gulp, gulp.
Nan Xun was certain she hadn’t misheard—damn it, that was the sound of swallowing blood and flesh.
To save her, the long-eared rabbit had actually started drinking human blood!
A little moved, Nan Xun watched as Qin Yuexuan passed out. She grabbed the long-eared rabbit and ran for her life.
Suddenly remembering something, Nan Xun softly hummed a few notes into the night sky, releasing her spiritual power.
Moments later, a green luan bird flew down from the sky.
“Little buddy, could you give me a ride? I need to return to the southern Zui Li family.”
The green luan bird cried twice and lowered its body.
Nan Xun was overjoyed and immediately climbed on, hugging the long-eared rabbit.
How could Zui Li Xuan possibly be a good-for-nothing? She was clearly an incredible beast-taming prodigy! With just a few casual hums, she could summon nearby spirit beasts.
Before long, the green luan bird spread its wings and soared southward.
The long-eared rabbit in Nan Xun’s arms fixed its gaze on her—cold, with a hint of scrutiny.
As they neared home, Nan Xun bade farewell to the green luan bird and continued on foot.
“Ninth sister? Why are you here?” someone suddenly exclaimed.
Nan Xun looked over at the voice. It was a young woman wearing a pink dress patterned with hundreds of butterflies.
The woman stared at her in shock.
Nan Xun glanced at her calmly. “Third sister, this is my home. If I’m not here, where should I be?”
“Didn’t you elope with Cousin Xuan?” Zui Li Yue shrieked. After speaking, she seemed to realize she’d said something she shouldn’t have and immediately covered her mouth.
Nan Xun curled her lips slightly. “Third sister, you shouldn’t spread rumors that tarnish someone’s reputation so casually. If my father and the elders hear about it, you might end up being beaten with boards.”
With that, she brushed past the woman. Her white dress rippled gently in the wind, carrying a faint, lingering fragrance.
Zui Li Yue was so furious she nearly ground her silver teeth to dust. With nowhere to vent her anger, she punched the two-winged flying leopard beside her.
The beast let out a pained whimper, angry yet daring not to protest.
The Zui Li family wasn’t outstanding in Xuanwu cultivation, but their beast-taming abilities were incredibly strong. They were born beast tamers— even a mere Xuan Adept could command a spirit beast over a thousand years old.
Zui Li Yue suddenly thought of something and let out a cold laugh. “So she’s back—fine. It’ll be good if she marries that beast.”
In her eyes, all demon beasts were livestock— the king of demon beasts included.
