Chapter 202: I Am Enough
Those words sent a wave of terror through everyone. Every ability user immediately tried to activate their powers.
“I can’t use mine either!”
“What the hell?! What’s going on?!”
…
When someone becomes dependent on a certain ability, losing it feels like turning into a helpless infant, completely at the mercy of others.
The overwhelming and unknown fear threw even the most experienced ability users into chaos.
Qu Jingwen was both terrified and furious—furious at this group of so-called ability users who hadn’t even seen the enemy’s face yet but were already panicking and trying to escape through the windows.
She had to see who was behind this!
Gritting her teeth, she strode to the door and kicked it open.
The moment the door swung open, a bullet whizzed toward her hand, striking the back of it and sending her gun flying.
The gunshot startled the escaping crowd, making them turn back.
Standing in the doorway was a teenage girl, pressing a gun against Qu Jingwen’s forehead.
Ma Dapao’s eyes widened in shock when he saw Su Tao. He wiggled on the floor in excitement, kicking his legs and making muffled noises through his gag.
“You… How did you get here?! Alone?!” Qu Jingwen clenched her jaw, forcing the words out.
She was certain Su Tao had never left Panliu Mountain!
From yesterday until now, no one had reported any vehicles heading toward the Old Station!
How did she suddenly appear here?!
It wasn’t just her—everyone else was stunned as well.
Someone tried to pick up Qu Jingwen’s gun, but before they could take a step, a bullet landed right at their feet as if it had eyes.
Another person tried to pull their own gun from their waistband, but before they could even grip it, it was shot out of their hands.
After two or three such attempts, everyone realized their movements were being precisely anticipated—there was no chance to resist!
At that moment, they all froze, standing stiffly like statues, afraid to move.
Su Tao spoke: “I am enough.”
Qu Jingwen’s heart pounded in alarm.
With their abilities disabled and their every move predicted, they had no chance to turn the situation around.
Su Tao pointed her gun at Qu Jingwen. “Untie him.”
Qu Jingwen gritted her teeth but obeyed.
However, her injured hand was still bleeding profusely, and with only one usable hand, she struggled to untie the rope.
Su Tao reached into Fang Zhi’s storage space and tossed a small knife onto the floor. “Cut it.”
But just as Qu Jingwen was about to pick up the knife, an image flashed through Su Tao’s mind—
Qu Jingwen grabbing the knife and stabbing Ma Dapao in the chest, blood splattering everywhere!
Su Tao’s breath hitched.
This woman actually wanted to kill Ma Dapao out of spite!
Without hesitation, Su Tao stomped on Qu Jingwen’s outstretched wrist, the sickening crunch of bone echoing through the silent hall.
Qu Jingwen screamed in agony and collapsed to the ground.
Su Tao kicked her aside and pointed at a slightly chubby young woman. “You do it.”
The girl shot a terrified glance at Su Tao, quickly cut Ma Dapao’s ropes, and scrambled to the corner.
The moment he was free, Ma Dapao tore the tape from his mouth and scrambled behind Su Tao, his voice trembling with guilt.
“Boss, I’m sorry! I messed up!”
Su Tao grabbed him by the collar and pulled him forward. Seeing the bruises on his arms and legs, she said:
“This wasn’t your fault. I forgot I could’ve just teleported you out. Otherwise, you wouldn’t have gotten caught. Now stand in front! What are you afraid of? You’re going to be in charge here. If you’re scared, tell me now—I’ll find someone else.”
Ma Dapao shivered but forced himself to stand tall.
He was terrified. Every person here had once been a powerful ability user, and he was just an ordinary man. The fear was instinctive.
Su Tao shoved him further forward, her gaze sweeping over the frozen crowd.
“I’m here to make an announcement. From now on, this land will be managed by Manager Ma. You have two choices.”
She glanced at Ma Dapao, signaling him to continue.
Sweating under the pressure, Ma Dapao mustered his courage and declared:
“One—leave quietly. No stirring up trouble.
Two—stay and work for Boss Su, but your positions will be reassigned.”
He turned to Su Tao, searching her face for approval.
But Su Tao remained expressionless.
Taking a deep breath, Ma Dapao picked up a gun from the ground and added fiercely:
“If anyone causes trouble or harbors ill intentions, don’t blame me for being ruthless!”
With that, he fired a shot at Qu Jingwen, who was still on the ground.
His aim wasn’t great—the bullet didn’t hit a vital spot but instead tore through her stomach.
Qu Jingwen grunted in pain and slumped to the floor, blood pooling beneath her.
The chicken wasn’t dead, but the monkeys had certainly been warned.
Seeing Qu Jingwen’s near-unconscious state, the others abandoned any thoughts of resistance, whispering among themselves.
Wei Xiang’s eyes flickered as he whispered to four or five others:
“This Su Tao is clearly ruthless. If we stay, she won’t treat us well. Either we’ll be pushed aside, or she’ll get rid of us once we’re no longer useful. We should leave and work for ourselves instead.”
The group quickly reached an agreement and stepped forward, putting on a dignified front.
“Boss Tan isn’t here anymore, and we don’t want to serve a second master. So, we’d like to leave. Boss Su, you wouldn’t stop us, would you?”
Hearing this, Qu Jingwen trembled with rage and struggled to growl out:
“If you want to leave, just say it! Stop using Brother Yong as an excuse! Do whatever you want—I’ll wait for him to come back!”
“Tan Yong is dead.”
