Chapter 108: Lipstick
Almost everyone had car rides arranged, so Jiang Chuchu didn’t have to worry about getting the whole class to Yun Jin Lou.
As for Gu Qinghuan, the only one without a ride, she didn’t need to worry either—she simply rode in the same car as Jiang Chuchu.
After getting out of the car, Gu Qinghuan followed behind Jiang Chuchu into the building where Yun Jin Lou was located, curiously looking around.
“The entire building is Yun Jin Lou?” Gu Qinghuan asked.
“Yes. Different floors correspond to different areas. Besides the dining area, there’s a leisure area, a wellness area, and more. If you’re interested, I can get you a supplementary card linked to my main membership, so you can come anytime you want,” Jiang Chuchu explained.
Qin Yue hesitantly edged closer: “Chuchu, can I get a supplementary card too…?”
“No,” Jiang Chuchu replied instantly.
Qin Yue “cried” and ran off.
Watching Qin Yue’s retreating back, Gu Qinghuan continued: “What can you do in the leisure area?”
“For example, the shooting range Qin Yue likes. He uses his brother’s card to play there. There are also larger, more realistic outdoor activities,” Jiang Chuchu said.
“There’s indoor rock climbing, golf, billiards, and so on. My dad and brother were interested, so they built those. The wellness area was built according to my mom’s preferences, like yoga and saunas. But lately she’s been into hiking, so she doesn’t come here much.”
Gu Qinghuan thought for a moment: “So this club was originally built just for your family to enjoy themselves comfortably and safely?”
Jiang Chuchu didn’t answer directly.
The eavesdropping students nearby looked around in disbelief: even if their families were well-off, compared to the Jiang family… it’s nice to be rich!
After reflecting for three seconds, Gu Qinghuan decisively said: “I don’t need a supplementary card. If I really want to come, it’s because I want to come with you. With you there, what do I need a card for?”
Although Jiang Chuchu had long known that Gu Qinghuan was persuasive, hearing her say this still made her secretly delighted.
She patted Gu Qinghuan’s shoulder: “Come on, let’s pick the ingredients.”
Since this was a treat, there was no need for formalities, and Jiang Chuchu didn’t require anyone to be polite.
Gu Qinghuan had said she wanted to eat to her heart’s content, but with so many people, not everyone could sit down to eat at once. So, after coordinating with the kitchen, they arranged a simple buffet.
The dishes were planned according to everyone’s preferences, with a preliminary menu to choose from.
While the kitchen prepared the food and set up the venue, the group wandered around other areas.
There was even a display area showcasing products from companies under the Jiang family—varied and fun to explore.
Everyone split up to enjoy themselves. Eventually, it would be time to eat, and with the class group chat, calling everyone together was easy.
Gu Qinghuan watched a demonstration video, completely absorbed. By the time it ended, it was almost mealtime. She decided to go to the restroom first.
She looked for the restroom but couldn’t find it and was about to ask a staff member when a middle-aged woman passing by spoke to her: “Young lady, are you looking for someone?”
“Hello, Auntie,” Gu Qinghuan greeted politely. “I’m looking for the restroom.”
“Oh, then come with me,” the woman said kindly. “I happen to be going there too.”
Everyone entering Yun Jin Lou must have had their identities verified, so Gu Qinghuan didn’t think much and followed the woman.
The woman was talkative, chatting with Gu Qinghuan along the way.
But the conversation was careful, not probing her identity. Since Gu Qinghuan was wearing her Mingde school uniform, they just talked about school-related topics.
Once they reached the restroom, Gu Qinghuan went in while the woman washed her hands.
When Gu Qinghuan came out, she noticed the woman touching up her makeup, taking out a lipstick and applying it.
Since the woman had just helped her, Gu Qinghuan didn’t want to walk away immediately. She decided to wait until the woman finished and greet her before leaving.
But looking closely, Gu Qinghuan found it a bit strange: “Auntie…”
“Hm?” the woman asked through her nose.
“The lipstick you’re using doesn’t seem to match the one on your lips,” Gu Qinghuan said.
She didn’t know much about lipstick shades and couldn’t tell the exact difference in color, but she remembered the woman’s lips hadn’t been this shiny before.
If Jiang Chuchu were here, she would surely explain the difference between matte and velvet finishes.
The woman froze, looking at the mirror. After a few seconds, she immediately took out a makeup remover wipe from her bag, opened it, and was about to wipe her lips, but then abruptly stopped.
She grabbed a tissue, dampened it with water, and rubbed her lips hard, quickly removing the newly applied lipstick.
But water alone couldn’t match the effectiveness of a makeup remover wipe. Some residue remained, and it also messed up the makeup around her lips.
“Young lady, could you help me find a makeup artist?” the woman asked.
Gu Qinghuan sensed something was wrong: “Please wait a moment, I’ll ask my friend.”
She added: “This is actually my friend’s place.”
Hearing that, the woman relaxed immediately.
If it’s someone from the Jiang family, there’s no need to worry. After all, this is Jiang family property, and if something happened to a guest here, it would be bad for the Jiang family.
Jiang Chuchu: [Makeup artist? There’s one. What does she need?]
Gu Qinghuan: [There’s a guest in the restroom who needs to touch up her makeup, but it seems there’s a problem with her makeup products.]
Jiang Chuchu: [Okay, I’ll send someone over. Which restroom are you in?]
Gu Qinghuan briefly described the route, and Jiang Chuchu said she understood.
Gu Qinghuan: [I’m only guessing, but it’s best to use makeup products and remover wipes that won’t irritate the skin.]
Jiang Chuchu: [Sensitive skin? Got it, I’ll remind them.]
In less than ten minutes, Gu Qinghuan heard footsteps approaching.
A young woman with champagne-colored long hair entered, carrying a makeup case.
Seeing the woman, the makeup artist was slightly surprised: “Ms. Han!”
Ms. Han was also a bit surprised to see the makeup artist: “So you brought Jiang Hua?”
Jiang Hua hurried over, took Ms. Han’s face gently in her hands, examined it for a moment, and then sighed with relief: “It’s fine. Although it’s slightly swollen right now, it should go down soon.”
She continued: “I’ll take you to the nearest lounge to fix it, okay?”
Ms. Han nodded slightly: “Thank you.”
She then looked at Gu Qinghuan: “Young lady, thanks to you this time. What’s your name?”
Thinking this was a slightly troublesome matter, Gu Qinghuan gave her name: “I’m Gu Qinghuan, a student in Mingde High School, Class 3 of Grade 10. If you need a witness, you can contact me anytime.”
Ms. Han raised her eyebrows. Although she didn’t intend to involve a child in her personal matters, she had to admit that this girl was pretty sharp.
“Don’t worry, I just want to thank you later when I have time,” Ms. Han smiled, then said goodbye and went with Jiang Hua to deal with her makeup.
Gu Qinghuan returned to the buffet area, where Jiang Chuchu greeted her: “What happened just now?”
Gu Qinghuan’s tone was serious: “I think I just witnessed a real-life high-society feud.”
Jiang Chuchu: ?
