Chapter 83: So Handsome That It’s Indescribable
Although the coffin possessed a natural self-healing ability, Lin Huai’s injuries had been far too severe. In such a short time, it hadn’t been able to do much more than slow the bleeding.
Jiangzhehu Inheritor quickly took the dark pill from Milk Tea’s hand. Leaning over the edge of the open casket, she carefully placed the medicine into Lin Huai’s mouth.
The pill melted the moment it touched her tongue. Instantly, Lin Huai’s torn flesh and broken bones began to knit together at a pace visible to the naked eye.
Watching the miraculous recovery, Old Wang from Building Materials stared in utter shock. “My goodness! As expected of the legendary Nine Revolutions Soul Returning Pill! This is nothing short of a miracle!”
Cute and Sparkling whipped her head toward Milk Tea Seven Parts Sugar. “Sweetie, I need one of those pills too! If you ever get another one, please save it for me! I’ll pay top dollar for it!”
Jiangzhehu Inheritor nodded eagerly beside her. “Me too, me too! Money is no object!”
Within three short minutes, the color flooded back into Lin Huai’s pale face. Although her clothes were still shredded and soaked in blood, every wound beneath the fabric had closed completely.
A slender yet strong hand reached out from the casket, gripping the cool stone rim. Using the leverage, Lin Huai pulled herself up, rising smoothly to her feet.
Without wasting a second to catch up with her teammates, she vaulted out of the interior, landed on the heavy lid, and dropped into a low, poised crouch.
Her eyes were sharp as razors. She looked straight across the dusty battlefield, locking her gaze directly onto the three men standing on the opposite ridge.
She held out an open hand toward Dragon Emerging from the Sea. “Brother Long, you can return the bangle to me now.”
Seeing her fully restored and burning with renewed fighting spirit, Dragon Emerging from the Sea let out a long breath of relief. He reached into his inner jacket pocket, pulled out the Space Jade Bangle, and placed it firmly into her palm.
Lin Huai slipped the jade band over her wrist without hesitation.
Then, with a light tap of her boot against the stone lid, the green jade coffin rose smoothly into the air, hovering high above the roof of the armored hearse once more.
“Yellow Springs Road Guide, full throttle! Break straight through the battlefield! Targets: Chen Feng of Sector 888, Master Cloud Cliff of District 11, and Old Demon of Xiangxi from Zone 01!”
The moment her command fell, the hearse spun around, its engine roaring with a deep, furious growl as it charged into the thick of the fray. The automated defense grid and both the front and rear golden light cannons unleashed a blistering barrage the second they entered combat range.
Surveillance drones and psychic cameras whirled continuously around the chassis, feeding real-time positional scans back to the guidance system to assist with drift maneuvers and fire calibration.
Gunfire and cannon blasts tore through the canyon in an unbroken storm of noise.
The Level 5 spirit vehicle was a behemoth, standing out like a crane among a flock of chickens. With the massive green jade casket floating proudly above its roof, surrounded by an emerald aura, the war machine radiated overwhelming power.
Even more striking was Lin Huai herself. Standing upright on the coffin lid, she rode the flying stone artifact at breakneck speed, rocketing forward so fast she left her own armored hearse trailing in the dust.
Watching her charge from behind, the squad was left completely speechless with awe.
If You’re Bad, Practice More cheered at the top of her lungs, “Wow! The Boss is way too cool!”
Dragon Emerging from the Sea nodded, his eyes shining with open admiration and pride. “She really is… indescribably cool!”
Old Wang looked on with sheer envy, practically drooling. “Man, if only I could look half as badass as the Boss! Flying into battle on a coffin like that is pure style!”
Before anyone could say another word, Dragon Emerging from the Sea was already sprinting back to the Sabertooth. “Everyone, mount up! Wipe out every single survivor from Sector 888 and avenge the Boss!”
Sister Cai’s off-road vehicle and Old Wang’s heavy hauler had already been unloaded from the spatial bangle before Lin Huai took off, sitting idle and ready nearby.
At Dragon Emerging from the Sea’s shout, everyone’s morale soared to the heavens. Gritting their teeth, they leaped into their driver seats, roaring onto the sand to support the Three Knight Brothers.
Just thinking about the sight of Lin Huai lying motionless in that pool of blood moments earlier filled every member of the squad with endless strength and fury!
Across the valley, Chen Feng watched Lin Huai rocket toward him on the flying jade casket—fully healed and radiating terrifying momentum. A cold shudder ran through the depths of his marrow.
Panic-stricken, he scrambled behind Master Cloud Cliff. “Master, save me! She’s coming to kill me! Protect me!”
Old Demon of Xiangxi sneered with clear disgust. “And why shouldn’t she kill you?”
Turning toward the Daoist priest, Old Demon flicked the ash from his cigarette. “Old priest, let’s pull back. This is their private vendetta; it has nothing to do with us. It makes no sense to make an enemy of an unstoppable powerhouse just to protect a piece of trash like Chen Feng.”
He took another drag. “You saw it yourself. In this girl’s hands, that coffin is a completely different beast. Chen Feng never displayed anything close to this kind of power in his previous life.”
Master Cloud Cliff hesitated. He still wanted the information Chen Feng had promised regarding that young man’s whereabouts.
Seeing Chen Feng preparing to slip away, Lin Huai reached into her spatial bangle and pulled out the pale finger bone the Bone-Picking Child had given her.
“Little Bone, I found Chen Feng! Come claim your prize!”
The very next second, a chilling, childlike voice whispered directly into the ears of Chen Feng, Master Cloud Cliff, and Old Demon of Xiangxi. It was a raspy, freezing sound that seemed to seep from the grave:
“I finally found you… you big liar!”
Before anyone could react, a grotesque, half-skeletal child manifested directly over Chen Feng’s shoulders, straddling the back of his neck like a nightmare.
Two small, bared-bone arms wrapped around Chen Feng’s head. Without a second of hesitation, the child gave a violent twist, snapping his neck around a full three hundred and sixty degrees—and then violently ripped the head clean off the shoulders!
Crack! Riiip!
The Bone-Picking Child let out an eerie, gleeful laugh, drifting up into the air away from the headless, spurting torso while cradling the dripping head in both hands.
The severed head hadn’t even processed its own death yet. Its eyes remained wide with horror, and the gaping jaw still twitched, letting out faint, choking gasps.
Within seconds, the flesh and muscle on the skull rotted away into liquid filth, dripping down and vanishing into the sand. All that remained was a gleaming, pitch-black skull, which Little Bone raised high into the air with triumphant joy:
“Hahaha! The bone of a wicked man who committed countless sins! I finally collected it!”
Turning toward the emerald casket soaring toward him, the child waved a bony hand cheerfully at Lin Huai. “Sister, I got the skull! I’m heading home now!”
With a soft pop, the child dissolved into thin air.
Watching the gruesome execution from just paces away, both Master Cloud Cliff and Old Demon of Xiangxi stood completely paralyzed, their expressions turning deathly solemn.
She can actually summon high-tier underworld entities to slaughter players on command?!
How are we supposed to fight against something like that?!
Realizing that Lin Huai’s murderous gaze was locking onto them next, Master Cloud Cliff pulled up his interface without a second thought, his voice echoing with sharp urgency:
“All players from District 11, forfeit the instance immediately! Disconnect now!”
He tapped the button to confirm his own withdrawal.
Beside him, Old Demon of Xiangxi pulled up his squad comms as well. “Zone 01, follow me out. Abandon the trial!”
Before his body dissolved into particles of light, Old Demon raised two fingers toward the approaching jade coffin, the cigarette between his knuckles glowing faintly in the dust. “Little girl, this entire instance is all yours.”
A ring of bright teleportation light flared around Master Cloud Cliff. Looking deeply into Lin Huai’s frosty eyes, he bowed his head slightly.
“Fellow Daoist, we were in the wrong today. Take this dungeon and its rewards as our formal apology. The next time our paths cross, I truly hope we can meet as friends!”
