Has the Fake Heiress Excelled Today? – CH107

Teacher Xu, Can I Add You on WeChat?

Chapter 107: Teacher Xu, Can I Add You on WeChat?

Chen Qianxi hesitated, doubting herself. “Really? Did I?”

“How could you not? Honestly, you’re hopeless—I don’t even know what to say about you anymore.”

“It’s not that bad… right?”

“…”

“Fine, maybe not that good either.”

“So what do you actually want? Do you really want a relationship, or are you just saying it for fun?”

“I do want one. After all, my mom keeps nagging me about it.”

“Alright then, tell me your requirements. If I come across someone who fits, I’ll add him on WeChat and introduce him to you.”

“Thank you, Jiujiu! You really are my best friend!”

Later, when Lin Yuejiu was out on a date with Xu Nianshen, she brought this up.

“You’re going to help her find a boyfriend?”

Lin Yuejiu nodded.

“And why can’t she find one herself?”

“She said I’ve got more handsome guys around me, so she asked me to keep an eye out for her.”

“And you agreed right away?”

“Of course,” she said, nodding again. “She’s my best friend.”

Xu Nianshen raised his brows. “So you’re thinking about your female friend, but not about me, your boyfriend?”

“?? What do you mean by that?”

“When you go looking for those male friends, won’t they misunderstand? Especially since you’ll be the one adding them on WeChat and taking the initiative.” He sounded a little sour. “Even with me, you never took the initiative—I was the one who added you first.”

Lin Yuejiu blinked, suddenly recalling the past—

Back when WeChat was first becoming popular, both of them had downloaded it, but they hadn’t added each other right away. Instead, they added a bunch of other classmates first.

One day after school, Lin’s family driver had taken leave, so her mom asked her to ride home in the Xu family’s car. The two of them sat in the backseat together. Xu Nianshen leaned back against the seat, head lowered, eyes fixed on his phone as his fingers swiped across the screen.

Meanwhile, Lin Yuejiu rested her chin on her hand, gazing out the window at scenery she’d already seen countless times.

Xu Nianshen’s eyes shifted slightly toward her, but all he could see was the back of her head. He licked his lips. “Um… you…”

“Hmm? What is it?”

He quickly looked away. “Do you have WeChat?”

“Yeah, why?”

“We only have each other’s phone numbers. How about we add each other on WeChat? It’s easier to stay in touch, since we can’t always call anytime we want.”

Lin Yuejiu didn’t think much of it and nodded right away. “Sure.”

“I’ll add you then.” Xu Nianshen thought it wasn’t polite to make a girl take the initiative, so he offered to do it.

“Okay.”

He scanned her QR code, and soon they were friends on WeChat.

Satisfied, Xu Nianshen leaned back and looked out the window, the corners of his mouth faintly lifting. Back then, Lin Yuejiu had assumed he’d just seen some good news online and didn’t bother him.

The memory ended, and Lin Yuejiu couldn’t hold back a laugh. “Teacher Xu, you’re that jealous?”

Xu Nianshen let out a soft “hmph” through his nose.

“Alright, how about this?” To coax him, Lin Yuejiu softened her tone like she was negotiating. “You delete me right now, and this time I’ll add you. What do you think?”

He glanced at her, then around the room, thinking it over. “Alright, sounds like a good idea.”

Lin Yuejiu stifled her laughter. “Then hurry up and delete me.”

Xu Nianshen pulled out his phone, opened WeChat, and deleted her pinned contact. “Done.”

“Ahem,” Lin Yuejiu cleared her throat, then said sweetly, “Teacher Xu, may I add you on WeChat?”

He acted thoughtful again, then nodded. “Sure. Scan my code.”

He brought up his QR code, and Lin Yuejiu opened her scanner, added him back as a contact.

“Happy now?” she smiled brightly at him. “So, does this mean I can go find a boyfriend for my bestie now?”

Xu Nianshen, finally appeased, said warmly, “Of course. You and your best friend are so close—how could I stop you from helping her?”

Lin Yuejiu raised a hand to hide the grin tugging at her lips. “Mm, Teacher Xu, you really are the best.”

Ever since Xu Yishen agreed, Lin Yuejiu had been earnestly carrying out the promise she made to Chen Qianxi.

One time, at a milk tea shop, she noticed a handsome guy who matched exactly the type Chen Qianxi had described as her ideal. After preparing herself mentally, she stepped forward.

“Hello?”

The guy had actually been sneaking glances at her. When he saw her approach, he thought she had caught him, so his expression turned a little awkward. “Hi, is there something you need?”

“May I ask if you’re single?”

The guy nodded.

“Are you currently open to dating?”

He nodded again.

“It’s like this—I have a best friend who’s single right now and looking for a boyfriend. I wanted to ask if you’d be willing to add her on WeChat?”

The guy thought for a moment. “Do you have a picture? Can I see what your friend looks like?”

“Of course.”

Lin Yuejiu pulled up a photo to show him. After taking a look, the guy nodded.

Overjoyed, she quickly asked, “Then could you give me your WeChat ID so I can pass it to her?”

“Sure.”

He readily told her his WeChat. He had already guessed—since she was asking on behalf of a friend, she either already had a boyfriend or wasn’t looking for one herself. And since he happened to be looking for a partner, having someone directly introduce him was exactly what he wanted.

“Thank you, thank you.” Lin Yuejiu bowed politely, then showed him Chen Qianxi’s WeChat avatar and username.

Once she got his contact, she immediately messaged her friend:

[Yuxi, I got a handsome guy’s WeChat for you! He’s exactly what you described.]

Chen Qianxi: [Seriously? You actually went and asked him?]

Lin Yuejiu: [Of course. I always keep my word.]

Then she sent the ID over. [Go for it!]

Chen Qianxi was practically moved to tears. [I will!]

A few days later, outside the library, Lin Yuejiu spotted her and happily asked, “So, Yuxi, how did it go? How are things with that guy?”

Chen Qianxi’s gaze dodged. “It was… okay.”

The look on her face was off, and Lin Yuejiu frowned. “What happened? Did something go wrong between you two?”

“Kind of… an accident.”

Lin Yuejiu’s brow twitched. “What accident?”

Chen Qianxi bit her lip. “He deleted me.”

“What?!” Lin Yuejiu’s eyes widened. “Why? Why would he delete you for no reason?”

“Because… I said some things that weren’t very nice, so he deleted me.”

But Lin Yuejiu didn’t buy it. She knew Chen Qianxi well—on the surface, she was playful and carefree, but she knew how to keep her boundaries. She would never say something inappropriate to a stranger.

Her expression grew serious. “What really happened?”

Looking guilty, Chen Qianxi shrank under her stare and finally confessed: “Fine, it was me. I deleted him.”

“He said something unpleasant to you?”

“…No.”

“Then what was it?”

Chen Qianxi fidgeted. “He was really straightforward. The first thing he asked was if I wanted to be in a relationship.”

“That’s not bad—it gets straight to the point.”

“I told him it was too fast, that I wasn’t used to it and wanted to take things slow.”

“He didn’t agree?”

“He did.”

“Then where’s the problem?”

“After chatting more, I realized he was actually pretty nice and gentle.”

Lin Yuejiu listened quietly.

“Later, he asked if we could meet up.”

“And?”

“And… I panicked. So I deleted him.” She blurted it all out quickly, then immediately lowered her head like a child caught misbehaving.

Lin Yuejiu: “…”
