Chapter 104: Teacher Xu, You’re Acting Strange
Lin Yuejiu kept a polite smile and waved her hand. “No thanks, my boyfriend will be here soon.”
“Boyfriend? Junior, you just got here and already have a boyfriend?”
“Junior, don’t be so polite with us.”
Just as Lin Yuejiu was about to respond, she heard a familiar voice.
“Sorry, she’s my girlfriend.”
The seniors all turned their heads. A tall, handsome young man stood there, holding a bag that clearly didn’t suit his style—it was obviously a woman’s bag. His face looked cold, brows furrowed.
Lin Yuejiu smiled. “My boyfriend’s here. Sorry, everyone.”
Xu Nianshen reached out his hand. Lin Yuejiu placed her hand in his, and he tightened his grip. With his other hand, he passed her the bag. “You forgot this.”
“I accidentally left it, but that’s why I have you, isn’t it?” she grinned.
Xu Nianshen’s eyes softened with helplessness. “Didn’t I tell you to wait for me? Why did you run off by yourself?”
“I was just scouting ahead for you~”
“Still.”
“Alright.”
Lin Yuejiu slung the bag over her shoulder. Xu Nianshen took her suitcase with one hand and held her hand with the other as they walked away.
The seniors: “…”
Well, that was awkward. She really did have a boyfriend, and he was handsome too—such a perfect match.
Lin Yuejiu’s fingers scratched lightly against Xu Nianshen’s palm as she looked sideways at him. “Teacher Xu, are you jealous?”
He didn’t reply.
Lin Yuejiu knew this meant he was upset. After two months of being together, she understood him better.
“Teacher Xu, I was wrong. I really just wanted to take a look around first, I didn’t mean to not wait for you.”
“…”
“Teacher Xu? I truly know I was wrong. Please forgive me, Teacher Xu~” Her tone softened.
A helpless sigh slipped out, then suddenly her lips were kissed. Xu Nianshen gazed at her deeply. “I really can’t do anything with you.”
Lin Yuejiu immediately lit up with a smile. “I knew Teacher Xu was the best.”
“Tsk, tsk, tsk.”
Both turned their heads. Chen Qianxi was pushing her suitcase, standing a few steps away, watching them. “Flirting in public like this—have you no shame?!”
Lin Yuejiu stuck out her tongue. “Bleh~ Single dog!”
Chen Qianxi’s eyes widened in disbelief at Lin Yuejiu making faces at her. “Jiujiu, how could you?!”
Then she pulled a sorrowful face. “Jiujiu, you’ve changed. You’re no longer the Jiujiu I knew.”
And with a look of righteous indignation, she added, “You heartless, friend-abandoning woman! I don’t want you anymore!”
Lin Yuejiu: “…”
What a drama queen. If she doesn’t win Best Actress, I’ll look down on the whole award show.
Xu Nianshen: “…”
Fine by me. The fewer people fighting over her, the better.
“Hey, deskmate, you’re here too?”
All three turned. Du Zhuo jogged over with his suitcase, smiling.
Chen Qianxi blinked in surprise. “Du Zhuo? You’re at this school too?!”
Du Zhuo puffed his chest. “Of course! I sat right behind Xu Shen, maybe not first or second place, but my grades aren’t bad, okay?”
“Hey, which department are you in? I’m in Mathematics.”
“Mathematics? Then you’re in the same department as Xu Shen.”
Du Zhuo instantly held out his hand to Xu Nianshen. “Xu Shen, what a coincidence, we’re classmates again!”
Xu Nianshen gave a small smile and shook his hand.
“You haven’t told us which department you’re in yet.”
“Me? Education. Chinese Education.”
“Huh? You’re going to be a teacher?”
“My mom told me to. She said it’s good for girls, being a teacher is easy work in the future.”
“You don’t have anything you want to study yourself?” Lin Yuejiu asked.
Chen Qianxi shrugged. “Not really. I actually wanted to be in the same department as Jiujiu, but she studies music and I can’t play the violin, so I had to give up. Even though I really, really, really wanted to be with Jiujiu.” Her voice dropped a little at the end.
Lin Yuejiu chuckled and patted her head. “It’s okay. I checked the campus map—the Education dorms are close to mine. You can come find me anytime.”
Chen Qianxi immediately hugged her and rubbed her head against her chest. “Jiujiu, you’re the best.”
Xu Nianshen pulled Lin Yuejiu back a little. Chen Qianxi couldn’t help but complain. “Xu Shen, you’re too stingy. It was just a hug. Did you really have to pull her away?”
Xu Nianshen said nothing.
Lin Yuejiu shook her head with a laugh.
“Alright, let’s go. Four people standing here is too conspicuous, and with you two being so good-looking.”
They looked around and saw plenty of stares directed at them.
“Then let’s go.”
Xu Nianshen pulled Lin Yuejiu along with her suitcase toward the dorms. Du Zhuo quickly called out, “Hey, Xu Shen, where are you going? The Math dorms are in the opposite direction!”
Chen Qianxi rolled her eyes. “Are you dumb? Xu Shen is Jiujiu’s boyfriend, of course he’s sending her to her dorm.”
“But what about his own luggage?”
Xu Nianshen waved back. “My brother already put it in for me.”
Xu Yan: For the sake of my brother and sister-in-law’s harmony, I’ll endure being their porter this once.
Du Zhuo: “…What if you don’t have a brother? Then you’d just suffer and carry it yourself?”
Chen Qianxi: “Just go already.”
“Hey, since Xu Shen is sending Lin Goddess, should I act like a gentleman and send you to your dorm?”
Chen Qianxi shot him a look. “Xu Shen is Jiujiu’s boyfriend. You’re not mine. Why would you?”
“True. Then I’ll go. Bye.”
“Bye.”
And the two went their separate ways.
Lin Yuejiu’s dorm was on the third floor, a pretty good spot. Xu Nianshen pushed the door open—one bed was already made, but no one was inside.
“Which bed do you want?”
Lin Yuejiu didn’t care much, so she just pointed randomly.
“Alright.”
Xu Nianshen opened her suitcase, pulled out the sheets and covers, then grabbed the bedding he had already brought over earlier. He started making her bed himself, while she was told to sit in a chair.
Lin Yuejiu leaned on the chair, smiling as she watched him work. Teasing, she said, “Teacher Xu, you look like a dad making the bed for his daughter.”
Without looking up, Xu Nianshen replied with dry humor, “Are you hinting that I should be a dad now?”
Lin Yuejiu: “…I never said that. Teacher Xu, you’ve changed.”
Teacher Xu, you’re acting strange. What’s going on with you?
